  1. This little lot arrived today and I am very pleased with the way it has all turned out. The photos make everything look a dark shade of grey but the real parts are deeper black than this. Now I have these I could potentially get everything sorted in about two hours. The installation time is pretty quick and I think that may be partly because the cast manifold makes for quite easy access compared to a space eating tubular manifold.
  2. Downpipe back from Zircotec covered in their "Performance Black" ceramic coating I haven't had to chance to unwrap the rest yet.
  3. Keron I didn't pm you but have asked about things in this thread. Is that ok?
  4. Thanks Hodge - I got your message...I'll dig out the info on the check valve for you.
  5. Cheers Jay - I'll check the sealant and get back to you... I managed to finish the injector loom and wire in the new IAT sensor last night. I then fitted the plenum, throttle body, FPR and all the associated earth straps and pipework for the plenum. I am waiting for my thermal gasket for the idle valve to arrive and once I have that the intake side 100% finished. All I need now is that parts from Zircotec so I can fill that big hollow spot on the driver's side of the engine bay
  6. If an engine undertray is available, could I have it please? I would also be interested in the centre console part (the piece with the liftup lid and cubby hole) and also a driver's side door card.
  7. I also took the compressor housing off and put a tiny bead of sealer around it as these "H" and "HP" housings are not sealed from Precision. This needs sorting as a boost leak here is no good to anybody. Once I get the 0.81 turbine housing back from Zircotec I can get this rebuilt and fitted.
  8. I fitted the fuel rail and fuel lines over the weekend and also made a start on wiring in the new injector and IAT pig tails. I am waiting for some more loom tape to arrive before I finish that 100% but the bulk of it is done and I shall be fitting the plenum/throttle/IC pipes this evening hopefully. I test fitted this lump again.... ...and can now confirm that you will run into a few minor issues with the double gasket approach: 1. I replaced the two studs (one at each end) on the runners as the originals were not quite long enough with the plenum's thermal gasket. The rest of the bolts should be long enough. Ferriday supplied me with the studs so no need to hunt around if you decide to buy one of their gaskets. 2. The main brace supporting the plenum from beneath needs some minor modification (elongating the mounting hole so the bolt can still pass through and thread into the plenum. 3. Elongating the hole on the small top brace that goes between the cylinder head and the throttle cable bracket. Again this is a minor job and is needed as the plenum has been moved away from the engine by the thickness of the two gaskets. None are insurmountable but it's handy to be aware of them up front.
  9. Trouble is that my local Toyota place closed down and I didn't picture "postage" being an option for this from a far away dealer. I was hoping there may have been one nearby in a member's garage somewhere. As it happens, it doesn't look like I need it now as the line is perfect despite my concerns after reading various horror threads on here
  10. From fuel filter back to the tank... Anyone got one in very good condition? Cheers Dan
  11. The only visible bits that are black are the cam covers, intake pipe and the plenum/runner assembly. I'm not desperate to have everything black but I am definitely not a fan of polished, chromed or multicoloured parts under the bonnet of a road car. I always think they look tatty unless they are impeccably clean and that just isn't an option for me as I'm not really into "polishing for polishing's sake". Cleanliness is fine...cotton buds for polished nooks and crannies is a non starter Hopefull it will look as understated as possible without looking plain or boring.
  12. Do you want an engine to "drop in" or do you want one to rebuild?
  13. I managed to get a few little jobs done tonight.... I reassembled my throttle body with all the brackets, linkage, TPS etc and then built this onto the plenum along with the fuel pressure regulator. I rebuilt the idle valve after having the body powder coated and this will be fitted once I get the new gasket. I also made a start on the fuel pump installation. I only have the typical SAE30-R6 hose right now as the specialist submersible R10 stuff hasn't arrived yet. For the moment I'm just getting the general fitment sorted so I know what to do when I get the proper hose. The other pump shown here is my Walbro 342 sat in my existing hanger. The heatshrink on these wires (from Mr Harwood a few years back) still looks perfect. If anyone has some heatshrink suitable for use in petrol tanks please get in touch.
  14. Yes please Gary, 100% - I did send a pm about collection/postage a few days back. I'm headed out the door right now but will be in touch later today once I get back home. Thanks Dan
  15. I'm assuming they are sold to me, is that right?
  16. I'm in Texas from 15th - 28th November but am working flat out to try to be ready. If I am done then I'll be down for mapping with Ryan towards the end of the day.
  17. Not sure yet Mark - hopefully I will know tomorrow. I'm prepared for the worst as it isn't cheap!
  18. Will do mate. I test fitted the runners and injectors last night and all was fine. Once the runners are 100% finished they'll be bolted on and injectors fitted for good. Next job will be to fit the fuel rail and fuel lines, wire up the injectors and IAT sensor and then I can fit the plenum and will confirm if the bolt lengths are any good...hopfully I'll get part way through that little lot tonight. These parts were dropped off at Zircotec today. I was going to wait to do this and spend some time driving the car to iron out any fitment issues but I think that was being a bit over cautious....so once these are coated and fitted they should be staying on for a while!
  19. Mini loom received Dude - thanks very much, top man
  20. Hope so fellas, I may add a small one between the plenum and IACV too Kev - I am sure Mike has everything on file. The only thnig is, this one is 1-2mm undersize compared to the metalwork. That's exactly as I wanted it so just beware it won't be a bolt on if you buy exactly the same as mine. Saying that, Mike may have the OEM gasket on file too so that would probably be ok. I won't be using the OEM gaskets. The stock studs (one each end of runners) are definitely too short. I'm not sure about the bolts yet but I expect they'll be too short as well. I will know tomorrow.....
