  1. I've got a few measurements to check on mine (backlash and preload) and then I'll get mine fitted - probably next weekend. I've do have some questions about the install but will start a different thread.
  2. Yeah I noticed the NT was a little pricey so I was hoping you'd say the CFS. Thanks for the quick answers mate
  3. The CFS stuff or the Nanodrive NT?
  4. OK thanks Lee - I'm glad I asked I'll go for the Millers as you recommend. Out of interest, what do you use/recommend for engine oil in any stock block single cars like mine? I'm running Silkolene/Fuchs Pro S 10w50.
  5. What oil are people running in their TRD diffs? I've seen people mention Motul Gear 300 LS 75-90, Motul Gear 75-140, Red Line GL5 75-90, and Royal Purple offerings as well. I'm leaning towards the MG 300 LS 75-90. Cheers Dan
  6. It was just to take help knock the noise levels down a touch John - not intentionally a heat thing. I never had any heat issues when it wasn't wrapped but I don't remember driving it that "hard" before I wrapped it so I'm not sure if anything would happen like you said.
  7. Custom setup as I wanted completely unrestricted and quiet. The only way to do that was with an electric cutout to give me 2 options after the 4" DP/MP, and short 4" exhaust section: 1) Valve open - Dump straight out near the diff - 90dB at idle, 103dB at 5000rpm 2) Valve shut - Passes through a 3" silencer and the the 3" back box - 83.5dB at idle, 96dB at 5000rpm The decibel meter was 500mm from the tailpipe for these readings.
  8. If you decide to add an unrestrictive silencer to the 3" then give me a shout mate. I've got this one for sale now (I went 4" rather than trying to quieter on my old 3" Nur Spec)
  9. He said it's a Lambda value of 0.9 - that is the same as an AFR of 13.2:1
  10. Afr of 9 or lambda of 0.9 ? Very different numbers
  11. Assuming you're talking a lambda value of 0.82, that is an AFR of 12:1
  12. I'll give him a shout and see what he can do. Thanks mate.
  13. Just curious as I was about to order the very same turbo for mine
  14. Where did you get the turbo mate - direct from Precision?
  15. Without wanting to state the obvious (granny sucking eggs and all that.....) - the boost is only really a measure of how restrictive the whole engine related system is. If you put that turbo on a non ported head, with smaller valves, milder cams, or a crappy manifold or smaller exhaust you would probably see more boost. You would make less power though. What power did you expect or, what power were you told this turbo was capable of? I wouldn't give the boost any thought at all if it's making the power it should.
  16. Turbo was "all in" as the yanks say Good result mate - you sound disappointed but see how it drives before you order something else
  17. Nice result - congrats. What was the reason for keeping the boost at 1.4bar?
  18. I had the opportunity to test out my 255/35/18 and 315/35/17 Vredestein Sessanta tyres in severe wet weather last week (completely unplanned!) and they were outstanding. I would choose these widths in this brand over the narrower Eagle F1 and Asymmetrics I used to run any day - wet or dry. However it was no accident I chose the Sessantas, they were a well informed choice. If you're "going wide" and think you'll use the car in the wet then be careful which tyre you choose.
  19. 245/45/18 is a very large sidewall for the front.
  20. Not a chance Nic. The stock rubbers actually sit between the spring and the top mount. With the bilstein 2.5" top seats the spring sits right on them, no room for a normal dust boot. If I used mine in the wet then I'd try to knock up a simple small bellows type rubber that mounts to the top of the damper. They are available and look a bit like a steering rack gaiter.
