  1. Not yet mate. Ryan and I spent a few hours in it a week or so ago tweaking the map to suit. With the valve shut it runs a little richer than before and the EGT's are a little higher up at 1.6bar. But....the first time we tried a 1.6bar run with the valve open it hit 1.8bar in a heartbeat and the ecu stopped play Once Ryan dialled out a load of gain on the boost solenoid and added more fuel in we were back in business. The open valve makes a big difference and the whole setup feels a lot livelier. I can't say or even guess how much extra power it makes but it definitely makes more...and spools a hell of a lot faster too Ryan is trying to sort out a tweaked version of code to run the valve in a slightly different way, once that is ready we will have a few jobs to do prior to hitting the rollers: - Get traction control mapped - Get valve control system linked into the ecu with switchable maps - Get mappable water injection tweaked ready for RR I'm really keen to see what difference it makes now.....as soon as Ryan's code is done I'll be ready to go.
  2. For the same surface temperature the black will radiate heat better. However, the conduction of heat from inside the cooler to the outer most surface (the paint in this case) will be reduced depending on the paint used.
  3. If you take the 492 and divide by 2 (for equivalent of 1bar boost on top of 1bar of atmospheric pressure) =246 then multiply by 3.5 (for equivalent of 2.5bar on top of 1bar of atmospheric pressure) =861. I'm not saying I am in agreement with the theory (assuming that gains are 100% linear with MAP with no additional losses) but there you go
  4. Sky for me too. £400 price hike though over BPU....(but one year on as well so maybe premiums went up a bit anyway).
  5. I was waiting for a pm from you Rob...will pm you now ...
  6. I'm very interested. PM me what you're thinking money wise and I'll Paypal some money over to you Rob.
  7. I'll be at SRR pretty soon with ryan so i'll get several graphs posted up for comparison. 1.4bar, 1.6bar and maybe even a 1.8 run just for the sake of the numbers and info game. My exhaust changes are done now (4" as opposed to 2.875") and that puts me on a more level playing field for comparing to other people's plots.
  8. I'd do the top arms first. I replaced all my lower arms first and it made no difference - the old ones were fine. It wasn't till I did the top arms that things improved.
  9. Jurgen - do you ever get V160/161's come up on their own......not whole conversions?
  10. Alleged handling issues aside, I think they look pretty good. The rear arch line certainly sits ok with a 20" but I'm thinking a 19" at the front may be better. I think the 5Zigens design is better looking wheel though.
  11. How come you're selling them mate?
  12. Excellent - thanks for the feedback Chris.
  13. I'm voting no. I have another road legal car that has a cage but also has four point harnesses. I'm now coming around to thinking that track use of that car (with helmet and harnesses) warrants the use of a Hans type neck restraint system. Jay touched on the issues of harnesses and helmets with no neck restraint system and the reading gets nasty pretty quick when you delve into the details. So....Hans device due to harness and helmet.....helmet and harness due to cage....way too much for a daily driver.
  14. I removed my active spoiler motor and lip and as long as I had it turned "off" I never had a problem. If it was turned "on" the ! light would illuminate at ~100mph. I have now removed the switches from the car (so can't turn it off) and I get the main "!" light coming on at ~100mph again. Apparently two pins of the spoiler loom can be linked up to prevent the light coming on. It should actually light up at something like 60 or 65mph but the wiring of my SLD must be wrong meaning it comes on at 60 / 5 x 8 = 96mph. So, if your's is like mine, you have two problems....an SLD wiring issue and an active spoiler warning light for a spoiler deployment failure
  15. Did your car ever have an active spoiler?
  16. Ok guys, I am putting together a Bilstein coilover kit based around a set of Chris Wilson's dampers. The original plan was to go with a set of normal shaped springs but Chris has a bit of a delay on springs at the moment so I am looking at another option using 2.5" ID coilover springs. Nothing concrete yet...just exploring other avenues. I have heard great things about Hypercoil, bad things about Eibach, but nothing of these D.Faulkner ones? They are certainly cheap and came recommended by Demon Tweeks. http://www.dfaulknersprings.com/index.htm Anyone have any experience with them? Cheers Dan
  17. My dad could really do with a new intercooler as his is very corroded so if it's still available (likely?) then I'll take it. Would also like the engibne mounts if they are still available. Cheers Dan
