  1. Thanks Paul - that is exactly what I was after. I remember seeing those plots at the time but for some reason I ignored the 9179 and only took notice of the 8875. This is how it compares to my non billet 67DBB when it was breathing through the pea shooter exhaust... ...the 9179 actually just eeks ahead around 4750rpm but it looks like I'd want a bigger turbine housing on it to keep up with the Precision turbo above 5500rpm - I suppose that's not a major problem but I wouldn't want to drop too much off the bottom end. Once I've rerun mine next month at SRR with the new exhaust I think I'd like to try the same 0.88 undivided 9179 that Ryan has and see how that compares.
  2. Thanks. Yes the pipes are powdercoated in a smooth (but not a high gloss) black.
  3. The 7175 is probably a bit big for me but I'd need to see some comparative plots to a cast 67DBB to decide for sure. My potential shortlist so far is: 9179 0.88 undivided 6765 0.96 undivided (to avoid the apparent surge issues with the 0.81 and stock cams - no doubt this would be even more apparent on mine as it spools extremely fast anyway) But to be honest I'm only doing it out of curiousity, the car is great as it is especially after the recent remap but I can't help trying new things Thanks Glenn, am I right to think your one is an auto?
  4. Some lovely examples being posted up, nice pics guys. Good thread
  5. Christ - I was gonna resize my picture down a bit....no need now!
  6. Hi Peter, I was using my foam lance a few weeks ago and whilst "foaming" the car, the foam stopped coming out and it was spraying just water. The bottle was still 2/3rds full and I have no idea why it stopped mid flow. Are there any tests I can do to figure out what might be wrong?
  7. Just a really simple website to start with - literally just some images, photos, a bit of blurb and tech info and then contact info.
  8. Thanks fellas - very much appreciated. It was a lot easier and quicker than I thought. I'll probably be back for some actual site advice soon
  9. Hi Guys, Can anyone point me in the direction of some help/info on how to go about getting a web address so that nobody else can have it or use it before I get around to creating the site I want? It will hopefully be a business related thing eventually but for the moment I am in no position to really pursue that part of it. I have searched around and the name I want to use doesn't come up in any search engines as a .co.uk or a .com but is there a way to check it is "available" for me to acquire/rent/buy or whatever the deal is? Thanks a bunch Dan
  10. This is what I have so far.... Ryan's is the oddball really as his cylinder head has had some work so not really a fair comparison. I've stuck your 67DBB 1.5bar run in there for comparison...I'm trying to decide if I want to try a different turbo but my setup is hard to compare to as it spools different to any normal kits and it's hard to make comparisons....your one here is the same tubby as mine but obviously on the tubular manifold.
  11. Yep, HKS manifold, HKS 264's at 1.5bar.
  12. Glad to see you back on here again mate. Nice job too, well done for sticking with it!
  13. James - any chance of sticking up a copy of the SRR printout please? I know you had wheelspin issues and didn't get a top end figure but I'd like to see how the
  14. Has anyone had a 9179 turbo'd car on the rollers with stock cams in a manual car? I'm trying to figure out how it compares to some of the Precision stuff but the only SRR printout I've seen from SRR with stock cams is Glenn's but that's an auto. Cheers Dan
  15. Hi Mike, I may have missed it but if not, is there any chance you could post up the plot from SRR when you were on stock cams back in July and did the 520bhp?
  16. Does anyone have any experience with these? This 46mm V band is interchangeable with the Tial 44mm V band but offers more flow area. It also comes with a whole range of springs (rather than just one) which I think is great. Ideally the inlet V band flange should be swapped to Precision's but it would bolt straight on and function 100% in place of a V band Tial 44mm. Cheers Dan
  17. Tut tut - what a waste. If you want to get rid of it at any point, just let me know and I'll give it a nice new home where it'll be used and appreciated
  18. Oh yeah, I forgot you had one as well Paul - sorry. Have you done anything with it yet?
  19. If you are interested I could probably gather up enough spare and leftover parts (but minus the turbo) to get you a 90% copy of my setup with the 4" DP like this.... Drop me a pm or email if you want to discuss. Failing that I can always help out with any issues you come across when putting your own kit together...a few other people have cast kits too like Heckler, Wez and MikeB so there should be plenty people here to give you advice Watch out for the PHR street kit - last time I looked it came with a 4 bolt flanged connection between the turbo and (3") downpipe which would make a turbo swap a little tricky without extra fabrication efforts. No big deal if you are happy sticking with their turbo though.
  20. Can either of you two confirm the drain is a 3/8 UNC? Also do these BW turbos need relatively large drains (dash 10-12) like conventional journal bearing turbos or is a smaller size suitable?
