  1. Nice work well done. What turbo did you go with and what boost
  2. Is that identical to the 6 speed one Keron? Just to check I'm not being thick here - the 5 speed was an NA right, or did it have a TT or single conversion? How much mileage?
  3. Paul - what turbo did you order? Is it for your track car?
  4. Good point, the 0.92 T4 is internally gated.
  5. I'm not 100% sure if the T4 housings have wastegates built in though.
  6. Short story involved there mate....I still can't drive after a shoulder op but I'm hoping that will change this week once I've got enough strength to stretch out my arm and change gear! As soon as I can drive I will check the car over 100%, change the diff oil and fit my wider rear wheels, fit my exhaust manifold pressure transducer kit and then book in to SRR as soon as Ryan is available. Once that is done I'll have a base run on my 67DBB for comparison and I can then come home, fit the BW and head back with no other changes and get a full picture of how they compare. I'm looking to do it all ASAP, the only thing I may do over the winter is relocate my battery and fit the Greddy intake and Q45 throttle body.
  7. BWs in general or the EFRs in particular?
  8. Didn't see your original thread when you got them, they look good. Did you take any measurements?
  9. Wes - I'll drop you a pm when I get home later today, only got back from US this weekend. FYI - I spoke to Geoff about the K29 and he didn't rate it at all. I definitely have a 4" DP/MP and flex on hand as well
  10. My new BW should be arriving this week from Fullrace; spoke to Geoff and he convinced me to try a Fullrace special build turbo which is similar, but not identical, to the 8875. Apparently it should spool faster than my 67DBB and make more power at the same boost. What more could I ask for? I read up on the EFR turbos and discussed my options in depth with Geoff and decided not to go the EFR route and am more than happy with that decision. If I see some dyno plots to convince me they offer a strong advantage (as a direct turbo swap on an existing installation) then I'd try one. Back to back Precision vs BW test coming up shortly at SRR

    Texas mile!

Wow, big numbers cropping up now. Fair play to anyone hitting massive speeds like that on a bike! Unfortunately I didn't manage to make it down there to see any of this, just got back to UK. I really wish I'd realized this was happening...massive oversight on my part. It does shed some light on a few of the motors I saw around at the start of the week though.

    Texas mile!

I'll do my best.....it all depends on how much money gets spent tonight and how bad my hangover is! I really wish I had spotted this was happening sooner as I'd have stayed down there for a few days - I'm sure it'll be a great place to be hanging out night and day.

    Texas mile!

Blimey, I didn't realize this was going on...... I'm only about 100miles away at the moment, I wonder if it's too late to book the rental in for a pass
  14. Ah fair enough, that's a shame. I'm guessing nobody else has been to tdi with a BW turbo yet either.
  15. To me the spool looks about normal compared to other 9179 plots I have, the shape looks about right....if anything, it's spooling well considering the other plots I have here are with 264 cams. (However, perhaps the vvti should be picking up the midrange a little better - hard to say with those cams). For the sake of a comparison of the shape of the power curve......what do people normally use to bodge the TDI dyno figure up to a supposed flywheel figure? I have the TDI plot in excel compared to others at 9179 plots from SRR and can post it up once I scale the TDI values to something sensible....would an extra 12% be close to a SRR figure? That would make it a peak of 664bhp.
  16. Geo has a 6765 journal and there's a dyno plot on here somewhere.
  17. Wastegate off the turbo and BOV off the plenum. There is a spare hardpipe running across the bulkhead once the stock twins and related bumf are removed - I used this to provide a neat feed across the bay for the BOV.
  18. I have prefacelift suspension arms on mine now though The different part numbers are due to the bush material changing to a softer option on the later cars. When I replaced everything I went with the stiffer option
  19. Thanks Lee - just dropped you a pm with a few more questions.
  20. Thank you for all the help guys. I'm chewing my way through the HMRC site info at the moment as well so I'll almost certainly be back here with more queries.
  21. Can anyone help me out with a few VAT related queries please? Scenario is a UK registered company purchasing goods from a supplier in the US. Goods are extensively modified in the UK and sold on. UK company is not VAT registered owing to minimal turnover. I'm trying to work out the legalities surrounding the payment of import duty and VAT and how this process is controlled (to avoid any items "slipping through the net" causing confusion and owed duty and VAT at a later date). Questions: 1. Am I right to assume the company must pay the relevant import duty on any and all purchases coming into the UK regardless of any VAT status? 2. Do the "normal" duty limits apply to companies as well as individuals? What I am getting at here is that I believe there is something like a £135 limit on imported goods and up to that threshold - no duty is payable. Is that per shipment, per month, per year etc? 3. Does the company have to pay VAT on these items even if it is not VAT registered? Many thanks Dan
  22. Hi Lee - has anyone tried your stage 1 cams yet or better still, do you have any comparative dyno plots against the stockers? I am considering going for a set of mild cams but to be honest I'm only thinking about it at this stage as I'd something that has benefits inside the stock rev limit and doesn't dump a load of grunt below 4000rpm compared to the stock cams.
