  1. Without wanting to appear too sad ...I ran some very rough numbers based on 12A drawn per pump at 12volts equating to 144watts or 288w for the pair. Then working on a conservative pressure at the pump of 5bar flowing 560litres/hr between them I reckon that needs about 80watts total. The difference there is pretty much 200watts so that's a significant heat source for the fuel in the tank purely from efficiency losses in the pumps.
  2. Just saw your post when mine came up....I didn't intentionally reiterate what you said
  3. The flash point of petrol is very low - something like minus 40degrees C. That's why you can just set fire to it at room temp whereas something like diesel is closer to 70degrees C so (normally) you cannot light diesel with a match. I think what you are thinking of is the "Auto ignition temperature" and that's temp when the fuel can ignite without a spark. It's more like 250 degrees C and you'll be miles off that so neither is of concern here.
  4. Ah right gotcha. Now that you've said that I will check mine a few times to see how hot it gets on the filter body - good shout.
  5. My pump whines a bit if I'm below half a tank and then am driving around for a long time - I guess it could be a similar thing albeit your dual pump setup is obviously worse. Have you considered wiring in a temp sensor first to check the fuel is actually getting hot before you go to the bother of cooling it?
  6. How come you are selling them Christian? Too harsh or noisy or just no need for them?

    Supra!

No good for you and that V8 mate - sell it on to me (seriously! )
  8. Cheers guys - I had a nose around for your recommendations and could only find the U-POl stuff. Is this it? http://www.qpaints.co.uk/u-pol-raptor-liner-black-tintable-4l.html
  9. Trouble is there's a lot of choice and I don't know which is best (longest lasting, toughest and least water ingress) Stonechip http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_188459_langId_-1_categoryId_165594 Black Waxoyl http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_172631_langId_-1_categoryId_165594 Underseal http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_179695_langId_-1_categoryId_165594
  10. While my car is off the road having the wheels, suspension and brakes changed I have decided to do some work on the underbody. I am not dropping the subframes yet (that'll be a winter job) but I'd like to give the arches and sill areas a bit of a tidy up and coat of paint. What is the best thing to use? Ideally I need to be able to buy it locally from somewhere like Halfords. Any ideas? Cheers Dan
  11. I'm in the same boat as you mate. Can we pay on the gate?
  12. I bought it about five years ago but i think it was from a member who made a bunch of them.
  13. If you have the 355x32x53mm discs (part numbers 09.5759.35/45) then I believe the Brembo pad options for the monoblock 6 piston GT caliper are XA5.71.M2 or XA5.71.M4 These pads are 17.5 mm thick. According to the catalog the first number is for "pads with springs and pins" the second is for "pads without springs and pins"
  14. I would give Ian a call at Carbotech and speak to him - he is extremely helpful. They make excellent pads and I suspect you would like an XP8 compound or maybe their AX6/Panther (road) pad if you're not tracking the beast much. I have a full set of XP8s in the front and rear of my Alcons that I am in the process of fitting. Quite a few people on here have used XP8 in the UK calipers with great results on and off the track. If they don't stock it on the shelf they will be able to make it....quickly. http://carbotech-europe.com/
  15. Sorry that was a bit misleading - I'm not running it like that. I'm waiting on some new custom springs to turn up and that'll give me the room I need. The extra droop makes all the difference, if your's is only dropping 3" you've probably got a mile of clearance on the inside.
  16. Last two pics...? http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?196108-Hodge-s-(Shiney-bits)-Supra-Project&p=2861321&viewfull=1#post2861321
  17. Here's mine for comparison....the gap from the arch to the tyre is 6.75" or 170mm. Wheel offset in second photo is 45mm with 315/35/17 on 11.5" wheel.
  18. What's stopping you putting them side by side Hodge?
  19. I've got a Precision 46mm V band, would that be any use?
  20. I always thought the porting was supposed to be a little more free flowing in the NA head, in particular the exhaust ports as they're not as badly angled in towards each other (as they are in the TT head to meet with the turbo manifold). Points taken on the naff "up and over" intake manifold but I have spotted a nice cast exhaust manifold: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOYOMOTO-2JZ-GE-TURBO-MANIFOLD-T3-T4-IS300-GS300-SUPRA-/120721022302?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c1b889d5e Or a stainless one that would suit an internally gated turbo: http://www.treadstoneperformance.com/product.phtml?p=1865&cat_key=52&prodname=Lexus+IS300+Turbo+Manifold%2C+Supra+2JZ-GE
  21. Is the NA head a big disadvantage for a single turbo setup?
