  1. I don't think they are Revolutions, the spokes don't look quite the right shape to me. Stand to be corrected though. Don't suppose you've got a more "side-on" pic have you Chris? Dan
  2. Well people any ideas? Is there no real VIN no. and what everyone calls the VIN is actually the frame number? EPC seems to suggest otherwise.... Dan
  3. Hi all, I'm going up early saturday morning so Pete can have a look at the settings on my DSBC and get another set of power runs after removing my last cat. I'll let you know how it goes... If anyone is there, come and say hello - mine is the Gunmetal Supe with Gold wheels. Regards Dan
  4. Aha, that's what I was wondering..whether it was stamped in any panels. I had a brief look yesterday but to no avail....
  5. Is that it dude??? How come on the epc program then I can enter my frame and model no's and still get a choice of a load of different V.I.N. numbers? The V.I.N seems to be a 8 digit no. followed by the second part of the frame number. Am i wrong here??
  6. Hi guys, As above, was wondering exactly where the VIN no was on the mkiv's. Mine's a 96 facelift. I'm not talking about the plate on the inner wing as I'm sure this does not display the actual vin no. It shows: frame no, model no, trim, transmission, paint etc but no vin no. Any pointers? Thanks Dan
  7. Kev, Just wondered what happened and whether you got to the bottom of this? Broken connection on one of your sensors/vacuum or boost leak? Did the warranty company pay for it all? Dan

    Sbc-id

A leak somewhere maybe dude? That squashed pipe should have no effect. Depending on which one it was, I think if it was totally blocked off you could end up with huge boost as no signal to actuator spring. Not familiar with the SBC so I could be wrong. Regards Dan
  9. **** 9.81@154 SW Turboimports/Performance Motorsports 9.81 Video 6 Speed/Full Weight Street Car!!! **** Bloody hell, that's quick. Andy, I look forward to see what you come up with to try to better these US times. Glad you are doing it with a manual too. Good luck Dan
  10. Does anybody on here know what sort of alignment figures they are running?
  11. Yeh like a Trial....sounds brilliant but not too raspy or offensive.

Hi Matt, I'm looking into it at the mo, but i'm in the midlands - sorry. If i have any joy i'll let you know. Did you get my pm about the bumper bar? Cheers Dan

  14. Thanks Michael, I had already made a note of those settings but wanted to know what people have actually had theirs adjusted to in practice. ie Consistent good results at stock settings, acceptable wear, etc so ideally stick to stock setup. or have Lance's settings proved to be better than stock and "recommended" by most? Any feedback people?
  15. Hi people, Going to be fitting my new front tyres pretty soon and need alignment checked. I have 245 40 18 on front and 275 35 18 on rear. Can anyone recommend some figures for me to produce when I get it done? I'm aware of the "Lance" figures on mkiv, but has anyone tried these on 18's and if so, what are your opinions? Thanks a lot Dan
  16. Hi Matt, Welcome to the board, congrats on the car. How does it compare to the P1, any performance mods on it at all? Dan
  17. That one on the right is never quicksilver is it? I thought quicksilver was bought out only on later cars as a shade darker than normal but lighter and slightly "golder" than gunmetal
  18. Mine need a refurb too, scratched outer rims and some paint chips around nuts too. Perhaps we should do ours together and may get a small discount somewhere!?!
  19. Yeh Osso they are WedsSport RS-5's 18x9 front and 18x10 rear. I think I remember you posting a pic of yours a while back and i spotted you had the same wheels. I think it was a photo of before you got the car, cuz you weren't sure which tyres to put on or what tyres were on there??...is this correct or am I thinking of someone else? Nice wheels, i wasn't keen on the gold at first but love 'em now. Are you a fan on your wheels or planning on replacing at some point? Dan
  20. Right people, Just wanted to say thanks for everyone replying to this thread. Nice to hear a wide variation in opinions on the subject of lightened flywheels. Just wanted to clarify that I had no intentions of personally trying to lighten the stocker, I wondered if it was physically possible and whether anybody had done it in the past. A change of flywheel is miles away for me, upgrade wise (sorry Paul) and probably something I'll never do anyway unless it was coupled with a dedicated rebuild, and even then I wouldn't definately go for it. May invest in an uprated clutch when its due so i'll be after opinions then. Cheers guys Dan
  21. Mine has the paint code 6NO, 1996 facelift car. This colour is actually "Mica Metallic Greyish Green". Apparently any Toyota colours beginning with 6N are greens so the fact yours looks a little green may make sense. I took and posted pics of my car a while back, here's the link (hopefully): http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10517&highlight=dandan Dan
  22. For the moment at least I think It's something I'll stay away from. Tuning wise I still have a whole heap of things I'd like to do before the flywheel needs attention. I just wondered if anyone had any experience of lightened stockers. I have seen the effects of a lightened cast flywheel explode in an A Series engine at 8000rpm from a missed gear. It may as well have been a hand grenade going off and I think people would do well to think of it as such! My Mini engine had an ultralight steel flywheel fitted as i wanted the response without the risk of a cast one letting go, now it's safe to 8,000 with no worries. Edit: Owing to a huge list of other components also, and the quality of the engine build itself. Resulting in a healthy 204bhp/ton. Not to be sniffed at especially in a car that will out corner a Lotus Elise all day long.
  23. Cheers Darren I was reading that post earlier on today. The stock flywheel is a dual mass damped assembly isn't it. As far as I'm aware there are no lightened flywheels which maintain this damping (may well be pointless as decrease in inertia would probably not stack up well against the cost) only lightened solid flywheels. I'm not keen on blindly replacing the stock flywheel as it obviously serves a purpose with regard to crankshaft vibration. Weight reduction resulting in a change of damped natural frequency is one thing, but removing it altogether (in my view) is something totally different. Perhaps if a full rebuild was on the cards and dynamic balancing of the whole rotating assembly could be carried out, I'd think differently.
  24. OK cheers Gaz, Only using the Fidanza as an example really as I'm not sure what the choices are and how they compare. Anyone have a lightened flywheel fitted...any opinions? I have heard the RPS and their Stage 2 clutch is a good combo. I'm running BPU with possible hike to hybrids or small single in the distant future. Opinions? ....... Prices? And back to the original thread...lightened stocker?
