  1. Welcome aboard. Nice car and nice figures too! Dan
  2. Eh? Is that a recent addition Gaz? I wanted some V160 oil a while ago and Toyota was only option.
  3. Yeh but the only place you can get the box oil is Toyota, or at least that's what all the traders on here told me when i was looking.
  4. I went there for gearbox oil (V160 for the manual) and they told me there is no special oil for the Supra box and to put in normwl 85w90 or whatever it was. Went back the next day with the part no. and spoke to parts manager. They then apoligised and ordered me two 1 litre tins. Dickheads. Took a week or so, from Europe I think. Anyway, other than that they seem ok and fairly helpful if a little lacking in knowledge (they never sold a single Supra so never got given the service cards/details for them). What car have you got - colour, specs etc. I'll keep a look out for ya. Dan
  5. And I have a factory active spoiler, factory Recaros, factory sideskirts, lsd, along with the typical Jap weight savings with resultant benefits. Not to mention it's a facelift, a mere myth to the UK Toyota dealers! Not all J specs are outequipped by the uk's.
  6. Yes but at the same boost with the cats out you'd be cooler than with cats in. Dan
  7. On a similar but slightly deviated note: The RUF tuned 993 Turbo does away with the Porsche dual mass flywheel and replaces it with a lightened item as part of its performance upgrade. Dan
  8. Opposite side to your intercooler mate.
  9. Don't mean to hijack the thread but... Matt H Did you read my pm's regarding the problems we discussed with my Concept 300? Thanks Dan
  10. Nice one dude, are you insured like the rest of us or on trader's insurance? I'm with Adrian Flux so I'll give them a ring and see what they say. What sort of power figures did you make at Thor on that boost dude? Any idea what you would be pushing out at lower boost levels, say 1.2 or 1.3 bar? Cheers Dan
  11. Sorry to hear about that Ash. How long were you running at 1.5 bar mate, that's a lot for the ceramics really? And what did you drop it to with the restrictor? I'm not exactly sure how I'd approach my insurance company on the subject of single turbos. I've still not built myself up for their rection when I ask about fitting a larger intercooler. Hope you get it all sorted Ash, Dan
  12. Ian Remote switch: http://www.mohdparts.com/emanage/photos/profec_e-01_photos/DSC05808.JPG Boost controller and emanage programmer: http://www.mohdparts.com/emanage/photos/profec_e-01_photos/e01.JPG This negates the need for a laptop for mapping the emanage and doubles as a boost controller and display. Not sure who has/hasn't mapped one yet. Dan
  13. I'm "interested" for sure, but can't commit fully at the moment, any idea on timescale? Any ideas on costs Gaz for the different parts (ecu, harnesses etc) with/without the group buy option? Thanks Dan
  14. How about the Greddy E-manage? With the right harnesses (not expensive) it'll do fuel and ignition and I think it has more potential than an SAFC ever will. It still acts as a piggyback but afaik it's not quite as much of a fudge as the SAFC. I think Cliff was looking into them, and I have some info somewhere, I'll post the link when I find it... Dan Link updated to right one! http://www.mohdparts.com/emanage/photos/emanage_photos/index.html
  15. Mine's an RZ and I've got a lsd. You can find out by looking on your id plate under the bonnet and comparing to specs on nz supra site. Dan
  16. I've got traaction problems and I already have a lsd. I still struggle putting all my power down on a hot dry road in a straight line. I'm not sure about grip, cornering wise, cuz so far I've been very careful when "pushing on" through the bends. I think a lsd will help you get more power down over your open diff. With rltc you'd be relying on electronics to cut the power back to what the diff and tyres can handle as they are now. Some people will have a different take on this but for drag use or general "power down" issues the diff would be a better first step. Then perhaps rltc if you're worrying about cornering/sliding/safety etc. Just my opinion Dan
  17. Adrian Flux was 10% @ 5000 miles for me. Dan
  18. Yes that is what I was asking. I think Terry is thinking of something slightly different... - How much the revs would drop whilst the clutch was depressed before re-engaging it again. ie Before the revs are brought up to the speed determined by the gear ratios and road speed. Dan
  19. Ian, I've just realised what I posted there in one of my replys. Of course the engine speed drop doesn't change depending rpm's due to inertia. As soon as the clutch is let back up then the gear ratios immediately govern what rpm the engine will do related to the road speed!! I was still half asleep at that point. Working out optimum gearshift points is not going to as straight forward as I thought..... Regards Dan Thanks for everyone elses comments so far....
  20. Thanks guys, I'm on a stock flywheel at the moment. According to the link the rpm drops change a fair bit depending on the rpm the change ocurs. I can only assume this is due to extra inertia in the rotating assembly at higher speeds. Once I've been back to Thor on Sat and checked my fuelling at around 1.2bar, I'll be looking to work out some ideal shift points. Cheers Dan
  21. Hi people, Can anyone tell me how much the engine rpm drops across each gear change (in a 6 speed manual tt). I wondered if these figures were around somewhere, 1) to save me going out and trying to get them myself (esp due to weather) and 2) not sure how accurate my rev counter is either. Thanks Dan

    wots it worth

I reckon that'd be a very bad idea mate. You'd have Supra's whooping you all the time. SteveW2 was neck and neck with one in his stock auto from something like 40mph - 90mph. And we all now the Supes really begin to rocket when you reach triple figures so.... Speed wise..bad idea.

    wots it worth

I was there when baldy's car was on there, and can vouch for the figures. I seem to remember Pete's concern when first seeing 1.45bar on the readout! However after reassurance he continued and put down those figures. Very impressive stuff especially in an auto!! Heading for 460-470 at the crank i should think. I wonder what sort of state the egt's would be in at that boost! Regards Dan
  24. I've posted a couple of threads/for sale requests on this as I'm after one. It was missing when i got the car. Anybody have one for sale? Has to be off a manual car please.(The autos are different). Regards Dan
  25. Barney, I take it you've gone for a full decat and new exhaust then? You won't be dissapointed. If you have gone for a full decat it may be worth fitting a restrictor ring from CW as well. Even at low boost (1.0bar) with the decat, the performance is huge compared to stock! regards Dan
