  1. Thanks guys, nice one. Matt - sent you a pm.
  2. Hi everyone, Can any of you vvti owners tell me what colour your actual injector bodies are please. (Easily visible even by the most untechnical - see pic ) Non vvti J Spec - Light grey UK/US spec - Lilac/Purple Are the vvti's a pinky red colour. If so can anyone confirm for definite what the flowrate is at stock fuel pressure. Cheers
  3. Awesome. Love the right up too. ------------- No deaths. ------------- Jesus, sounds as if that was a suprise!
  4. Cheers Terry, What I was getting at was whether or not the TPS ever came into the mapping as far as load is concerned (as for an NA motor). As far as I know it doesn't and it is there purely for enrichment purposes. Agreed? ps - no email yet mate
  5. Right guys, I've got a question related to the way the stock ecu is mapped as far as load input is concerned. I assume that the MAP sensor is used to determine engine load. Would you agree? No doubt it will be used for barometric corrections as well (possibly verified during starup??). This being the case would the TPS serve as an input for starting, acceleration enrichment and possibly flood clearing and nothing load related? Finally, to MAF sensor, anyone know exactly why this sensor was employed on the export and late vvt-i cars? Cheers
  6. Ok cheers Martin, I assume they are monitoring your mixture all the time though surely? Thor Dyno Day was up to 6 runs so you could up the boost or make small quick changes if you wanted to, nothing major though. £50
  7. Sending the cheque today Martin. Tell me, what can/do they log and print out for you at powerstation? Power and torque - I'm guessing they'll be flywheel estimates AFR? Temps? Are we looking at one single run each? I know at the Thor dyno on these days you get up to 6 runs each.
  8. Chris, I meant to email you back regarding plenum/runner design last week but totally forgot. Thanks for replying to mine quicker than I have! I will do so tomorrow.
  9. I'm 99% sure I can come but would need to get on early so I could get away fairly quickly. Saying that, I'm not exactly far away! Any big power cars going?

    Vacuum caps

I've been down the clamped bolt in hose route too!
  11. I am 99% sure they are the same.
  12. Tony, I'm not sure you'll get the response and resolution to see egt changes between 1 and 6 on a normal "automotive" spec thermocouple such as Defi or HKS. Are you going for a fast reacting commercially available probe?

    30psi??

30 psi as compared to 15psi (taken completely literally) will cause no problems. An extra 15psi added onto the combustion pressure becomes almost a drop in the ocean. In pure pressure terms I don't think it's a problem. You'd need to specify what turbo (and hence airflow) was being used to force the air through all the restrictions (in the engine/intake system) to cause this pressure rise. If you are talking about a big T78 or similar then the airflow will be huge. So by that arguement, once fuelling is correct, you're talking an awful lot of power for a stock engine. I have no personal experience of 600bhp+ 2JZ's so can't comment. US "experience" suggests the motor will hang together but it's a potential time bomb. Stock gasket is about the best around I believe, not sure on head screw specifications so can't say. I don't think you're asking this in the literal sense though, you are talking about the engine being capable of withstanding the loads generated from what would be an extremely high specific power output. Revs are the killer, stock bottom end certainly isn't a rev machine that's for sure. What sort of revs would you be talking about holding that boost to - stock rev limit wouldn't cut it with the necessary turbo and cams for that boost from a big turbo. I think the pistons would be "ok" (assuming no det, nice chilly charge temps and adequate octane and afr). My major concern would be the conrods and the rod bolts - serious imposed loads there! My 2p
  14. If it's in now I wouldn't worry. I just wasn't happy with the way the 341 hung in the pump bracket, obviously some people don't seem to mind. Functionally, as long as it's in and it's secure and the wiring and fuel pipe routing is all good then no problems.
  15. pm'd you an email address too. That would be great Nick if you don't mind
  16. Thanks for the pics. Looks to me like they are the same although I'll have to go out and bring mine in for a comparison as the pics are a little fuzzy Not easy to photograph as there's parts in the foreground (throttle flange) confusing the focussing I'd imagine. I'll let you know, thanks again...................
  17. Aha nice one, Just pm'd you an email address, would be real good if you could email me a few pics? Is this a spare plenum or your own waiting to be put back on car?
  18. I'm not sure whether the "duct" cast inside down the length of the plenum is purely for egr or whether it's present on other jap cars too. Does anyone have any photographs of the inside of a jdm plenum?
  19. What do you mean regarding the Mines ecu Terry? What difficulties is that causing you to tune the car, is it EManage related? I assume this is Dude's car??
  20. Thanks very much. Gratefully received.
  21. 1. Martin Lee - J Skyline 2. Damouk - UK Supra 3. Rays the roof - Jap NA Supra 4. Oxygene - Jap TT Supra 5. Wilfman - Jap TT Supra - Prefer Mid Sept onwards 6. Attilauk - UK Supra. 7. crimbo - UK Supra. 8. dandan - Jap TT Supra How much £££ ?
  22. Syed, I have a complete intake system from throttle all the way to injectors and fuel rail from a UK car. I am considering doing some gas flowing inside the plenum and runners but am not sure whether to crack on with this one or try to swap it for a Jap one first.
  23. Hi all, Can anyone tell me if there are any differences beyween these setups please. (not vvt-i). I am aware the UK's have the egr but assuming that is blocked off are these items interchangeable? Also is there slightly less volume in the UK plenum owing to some of the egr passageways? What about all the tubing, sensors and vsv's? I think the traction control hardware is different too but is it interchangeable? Many thanks
  24. Ski, What BOV did you have before? Inrterested in selling it maybe?
  25. Yeh sorry guys, I'll do my best to get sorted for next time though. Do you meet regularly?
