  1. Thanks Rob - bit over my budget though unfortunately...
  2. Excellent - thank you.
  3. I would highly recommend Turbo Technics for stock based turbo rebuilds. I have worked with Universal Turbos in the past and found them to be generally pleasant and knowledgeable.
  4. As per title.... Thanks Dan
  5. I'm sure they use Garrett cartridges so fingers crossed it should all be ok in terms of repair/refurb. Good luck.
  6. If anyone is interested in a really effective aftermarket breather kit then pm me before you spend hard earned cash on what's currently available in the aftermarket for our cars. I developed what I believe is the ultimate crankcase evacuation/breather system for 2JZ eqipped mkiv's. It is only suited to non standard turbo installs but I could probably modify it to fit stock twins if somebody really wanted it. No-one sells a kit like this one, it's taken a while to put together and I am still waiting for a few final parts but it should all be complete in a weeks time. This was designed for a single turbo Supra I was buying but the sale fell through and the kit is now not needed. As soon as I have all the parts together I'll photograph it and get a for sale thread sorted.
  7. I may be able to help with the HID's. pm me if you don't hear from me later this evening....
  8. Hi guys, My brother is after a second bonnet for his Quicksilver coloured Supra. Does anyone have any of the following: 1. Quicksilver bonnet with a UK scoop/vent fitted. 2. Any colour UK bonnet with scoop. 3. Any colour regular bonnet. 4. UK scoop/vent Cheers Dan
  9. I have spent the whole day and most of yesterday messing around with my Mini track car. Engine went back in the car last weekend after a freshen up of the transfer gears and gearbox bearings. Everything was perfect except for the clutch which is seemingly shagged. Had it out twice today, messed around with different parts and it is still shagged - not disengaging drive from crank to drop gears. Will try a new pressure plate tomorrow I think as I am now fresh out of ways to trouble shoot it....
  10. I've always been a fan of black cam covers myself - good choice.

    stroker kits

Can anyone confirm the big end journal size on stroked vs. stock? Also what's the stock crank material?
  12. How do you know what I do and don't intend to buy and how circumstances have changed since my post and the 9 days later that the photos went up. Also photos always help selling things like this so people can see what type of fitment the injectors are and what rails and other vehicles they will suit. Edit: Apologies for not coming back and making my disinterest clear Scott, good luck with the sale.
  13. It's not a problem as such - it is a newer design of latchmechanism and is supposed to be like that. All vvti's should be like it and it sounds like a handful of facelift non vvti's are the same. I agree, it is a pain in the ass! Good fix.
  14. If it is a molar then it is a little trickier than an incisor implant so I'd expect to see it at the top end of that price band. £2k sounds about right to me - I forked out £800 to have a root canal drilled out, extended and replaced!
  15. The person coming to see the car tomorrow has dropped out due to money problems so the car is still for sale. I am a little cheesed off after holding the car and waiting all this time for him to come see the car with promises of buying it, I guess it's just bad luck. Those of you who contacted me, feel free to get back in touch as she's available again!!!!!
  16. That's an interesting looking exhaust manifold!
  17. You don't see Porsche kicking out 600bhp+ from 3 litres either but that doesn't stop enthusiasts from doing it. Reliability and maintenance are viewed very differently OEM vs aftermarket. I could probably live with a turbo stripdown every 10,000miles as I don't do that many in a year in the Supra. Those turbos on the Porsche would have to function perfectly after xxx,000 miles. Depends on the usage of the car as to what is viewed as acceptable.
  18. And assuming it is exhaust powered, what keeps the turbine spinning when all that charge is bypassed and not combusted? I'm sure you'd have trouble matching the turbine/compressor to work well and still be a sensible match for normal conditions. I know a few people running VATN turbo's on petrol engines pushing out around 140bhp/litre and have been doing so for some time now. I have also run a VNT Garrett unit on a petrol engine, the real trickery is mapping the control system for it to suit all conditions. Temperatures can be an issue but how much that affects you depends on the usage of the vehicle.
  19. Sorry - too expensive for him I'm afraid. Thanks anyway...
  20. You are wrong. 342 is for a J spec TT. 341 is for a US/UK TT. No idea what fit's the NA hanger.....
  21. I'm after -10 (5/8" or 16mm bore) sized pipework for a breather install. Will probably need 2x 90's, 3x 45's, 1x T and some weld in aluminium fittings to suit - does not have to be stainless braided hose but that would be best. I've priced up the stuff at thinkauto and was wondering if there was anything cheaper...
