  1. Does anyone see any major problems with this idea? I have a (relatively) small intercooler with good connection sizes that would fit in a nice little space as an additional water rad. Planning to come off the bottom rad hose into additional cooler and from that to the engine. Any thoughts?
  2. Once all those vvti's start flooding in the facelift non vvti's won't be such an attraction. In time (long time) they may become the rarest type as the times for production were pretty short.
  3. Anyone know what the cost is of an aftermarket one like a fluidyne from our UK traders? Are they a similar price to a new OEM one?
  4. Wanna trade it for a 1998 vvti 6 speed BPU in RSP?
  5. Whoops - didn't think to look on the actual sensor! Thanks.
  6. Does anybody know the part no for the sensor in question?
  7. Any luck with the list I pm'd to you jezzy?
  8. Have you definitely got a stock ecu? Have you physically had a look in the passenger footwell?
  9. I had a blitz dual solenoid boost controller and was more than happy with it.
  10. jezzybabes.. Just pm'd you a BIG list of parts. Thanks in advance Dan
  11. Ok thanks Nic. The plan is to cut another hole out for a defi bf water temp gauge and I didn't want to just go ahead and mod my only one - I wanted a spare just in case or if I sold the car. I need to get these other parts ordered from you anyway. I'll pm you later today as I have bought s/h cams and a s/h 3 fmic off members here so they're off the list. (Sorry about that but I go good deals oon them). I forgot you could get oem parts nic - there's a few small non expensive items I need so I'll pm you for a price. Anyone else got a facelift dash panel.
  12. Anyone running 295 35 18's on a 10" wide rear rim?
  13. I am after one of these gents.... The car is a facelift but I am not sure if this panel is any different on the non facelift cars? The facelift one is a dark kind of grey colour. Please let me know if you have one - ideally with pics to check compatability. Many thanks Dan

Finger over the exhaust is fine for priming. Once primed you could try undoing the glow plug a little so it's not sealing 100% - this will make life easier is she's proving a little stubborn to start. Make sure your starter stick is fully charged and there's no harm in trying a new glow plug either.
  15. Only just spotted this thread and I may have been able to help by pointing you here.... http://supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=274118 Could you have used the green tach wire from the ignitor or has that already been conditioned to 5v?
  16. Any news? I have seen devices similar to this before - like a low pressure water injection system (just an atomised mist of water). No idea on the reliability/results though. You need a rolling road before/after comparison..
  17. They are not stock turbos but as for how hybridized they are - I don't know. I need to try to ID them with Turbo Technics to be sure, all I know is that they're JDM turbos with steel internals....
  18. 100% duty does not necessarily mean lean. I've seen 1.3bar and fuelling never going leaner than 11.5:1 on 440's - this was however on a RR so things were a lot more controlled. It's a bit of a moot point as this was 1.4bar for a long period of time so combustion chamber temps would have been very very high - that's a serious thermal strain on the engine and you never want a leanish condition in that situation. At those kind of loads the fuelling from the 440's was almost certainly inadequate - damn shame and I hope it's not too expensive to fix.
  19. Do you have any idea at all (doubtful given the speed and concentration on the road) what you were boosting to at that speed and we're you flat out all the way to 160? Do you have a peak recall on a boost gauge and/or egt gauge? Any idea about afr's - do you have a wideband system fitted? As Chris said - what's the general spec?
  20. I'm not 100% convinced that stock cam timing can be the optimum for bpu/small singles and big singles alike and also it seems to be the general M.O. regardless of what the cam combo is. If that is the case we must be very fortunate as it's something else not to spend money on. I am used to building engines and degreeing the cam with a wheel and dial gauge to the manufacturers recommended settings and then going from there on the rolling road to see what can be found. Maybe I am being too fussy in this case as no-one in the UK (or at least on here) seems to use their adj cam gears - they buy them, fit them and leave them to look pretty. Some of the yanks claim between 3-14 useable hp gains. Regardless, 14hp for £250 or so is still not great bang for buck anyway I suppose!
  21. Sorted. Address will have somoeone there to sign for it. Thanks Dan
  22. Will it be posted in a jiffy that'll fit through a letterbox or do you need an address where someone can sign for it?
  23. OK I'll take it. Will make a decent birthday present I suppose especially if I fit it for him! Paypal?
