  1. Would you sell it delivered for £60 all in?
  2. Or even a spring balance would do the job. I don't have my car with me now but could do it tomorrow on 2 different cars.
  3. I've seen several cars with dipsticks blown out too, big deal. One of my old cars used to have a spring and larger O rings to help with the dipstick "ejection"! I've never seen it on a 2JZGTE though - that's why I asked. I'm not sure if I'm getting the wrong tone from your post but it sounded a little sarcastic and shitty (if not then just ignore me ). I was only asking a question and trying to contribute, not trying to upset anyone... I've got no seal issues either. Basically everyone is here to try to help each other out through ideas and discussion. I wondered what you knew to back up the dip stick comment - sounds like 2 cases of excessive cc pressure from a blown motor and that would definitely tie up with your theory it's not cc presure blowing the seal - unless the dipstick blew quick enough to drop cc pressure before the seal became dislodged....

    OK thanks anyway.
  5. Do you have the large main engine undertray? I can come collect.
  6. OK thanks Stef - sorry for the confusion and lack of reply to you. I would prefer to have a K+N on my car rather than an HKS even if it is only short term. Thank again. Mark - thank you for your kind offer - very much appreciated and I was gonna get in touch this weekend to see if the offer still stood (if I'd heard nothing else about anyone else having parts available). As of right now it looks as though I can have Stef's K+N which to be honest, I would prefer. Thank you both for helping me out. ps Got the fibreglass and resin today so once I've re made my undertray I may start the airbox but in reality that'll probably have to wait a couple of weeks.
  7. Sorry Johny I just didn't send you a reply yet - I wasn't ignoring you or anything and I do really appreciate the offer. I did a bit of reading and was convinced that Mark's NA one would not fit a TT setup. I thanked Mark for his offer and said I might take him up on it (the HKS one) but a few people have said the HKS was not good it terms of actual filtration so didn't want to fit it unless I absolutely had to. I didn't want to post that up here in case Mark wants to sell the HKS, the last thing he needs is someone rubbishing it after he offered to help them. Paul W recommended I pm'd you as I got in touch with him the other day. If you don't want to sell yours then it's not a problem, thank you anyway for the initial offer.
  8. I think what charlie is saying is that if you feed the pipe that chris is talking about on backside of the seal to the crankcase then the seal will be pressure blanced. There's a couple of assumptions there though...eg the pressure drop along the pipe would have to be negligible (short smooth large dia pipe). If the seals stop blowing then there's a case for crankcase pressure being the problem. If no change then it must be oil pressure or a physical issue like surface finish/installation etc For the same crankcase pressure the force acting on the seal is much much higher than that acting on the dipstick - something like 13-14 times more force. I don't have exact dimensions so that's a rough number. If people are lubing the seal OD whe they install them then the friction holding resisting that force will be very low - I'm not sure how you can make a blanket statement about the dipstick blowing first, anything to back that up?
  9. pm b'have or rob wild. They both have powerhouse racing kits and that includes the more direct intercooler piping that does not go out through the wing. Rob - if you see this thread, I have the top mounts cleaned and ready...

  12. Did you get your top rad scoop fitted ok in the end Greg?
  13. CHris - you fitted Greg's Koyo didn't you? What's your opinion on that as a drop in replacement (on amanual)?
  14. How was the fit on the Koyo Simon?
  15. Where was the WOT breather plumbed to Digsy and what sort of depression figures are you talking about?
  16. Do you make a lot of short trips in your car Jamie? With an open breather system a certain amount of white sludge is not unheard of. When was the last time those breather hoses were definitely clean - mileage wise?
  17. Are the seals with the larger OD any thinner in section? Depending on the seal embodiment a larger OD seal (or indeed a tighter seal bore) can still have the same compression in a bore (or on a shaft) if it has more room to expand axially when installed. I still don't know enough about the 2JZ setup to be useful but am hoping to have a chat with CW and look at some parts when I pop up to see him in the near future...that alright with you Chris? Edit: What do the failed seals look like - any scoring or witnesses on them at all? Has any ever replaced just the seal and managed to cure the problem or has it always been swapping out the pump for example that helped? In some of my seal applications we have to specify no polishing spiral on the shafts - by plunge grinding. In some cases if the shafts are hand polished or ground with a certain lay then the resultant spiral can pump oil past the seal - could this be the case here, pressurizing the back side of the seal? Anyone checked surface finishes on the cranks of these failing seals - does anyone have that capability? Again - I am only throwing ideas around, I'm not totally familiar with these parts so could be on the wrong track altogether.
  18. Anyone know what resistor to fit across which pins on the trac butterfly sensor?
  19. OK - just let me know. Does it look like it could be opened up to take 60mm gauges or are the "pods" too small?
