  1. Now you're just taunting Mr Wilson Bobbeh!!
  2. Jake, If I remember rightly you have HKS forged pistons? At reasonable boost levels a good forged piston can yield greater power (owing to less piston deformation and blowby and they'll also conduct heat out of the chamber better too). Do you know what static compression ratio your motor is built to have?
  3. Ok thanks Eve, please let me know.
  4. While we're on the subject of valves does anyone know: What are the stock inlets and exhausts made of? As Digsy said - are the exhausts sodium filled? Are the stems plated? What are the stock guides made of? Does anyone know what the tuners like PHR supply in their "built" heads/long blocks? (Personally I normally run one piece stainless steel valves in Beryllium Copper guides)
  5. OK thanks Nic I will do. Thanks for all the other stuff by the way - I'm not sure if I pm'd you at the time. Cheers Dan
  6. Would you consider selling the active spoiler lip and the metal braces that are bolted to it (to hold its shape and mount it) separately?
  7. I am interested yes. I'm doing a bit of reading up on it first though as I don't want to get stuck with an ageing/outdated navigation system. I already have a single DIN stereo and changer in the boot (the idea being both of these are replaced)
  8. Thank you for the reply. I will pm Mr Lover and ask him if he has any idea. In the meantime, does anyone else know?
  9. Whereabouts do you live my friend (I'm asking as you mentioned installing) and also is there any movment on the price? Can updated dvd's be used or are they even available?
  10. Does anyone have these numbers please - front and rear? Many thanks Dan
  11. The last two pics show what I am talking about clearest.
  12. I think you are seeing some of the section (or beak or divide) between the two halves of the port there Ian - just where the port divides from one to two. So... it looks worse than it is, seemingly dropping sharply en route to the throat area.
  13. Sorry please ignore my post...
  14. Nobody seems to pay any attention to the master cylinder when upgrading from J spec to UK spec and it is different. Just a point - not an arguement....
  15. We need some numbers as Digsy suggested. The maths is a piece of piss to do the comparison and would certainly give us an idea of the setups compare. Paul Mac - if you post up the numbers for yours I'm sure it will stand out like a sore thumb how much MORE potential your brakes have than the UK specs so don't worry.
  16. What are you up to Ernie - are you turning this into a bit of a sleeper or selling loads of parts and then selling the car as well? I hope you don't mind me asking - just curious really.
  17. 440's are pink/red on the vvti's too.
  18. That maybe the case - however that does not mean that these Brembos are more effective than they need to be for the Evo. Brake development may well have moved on (I'm sure if the Supra was designed in the last 5-6 years the brakes may be different) but that does not mean in any way that these are superior to the UK Supra brake setup.
  19. AGREED...AGREED...AGREED...AGREED...I had to really make an effort to post here and tip toe around the questions so as not to upset anyone. The tech side of this forum (in my opinion) has deteriorated BADLY is the last 9 months or so and to be honest I'm not at all suprised by some of the guys who just can't be bothered anymore. Personally I rarely contribute to so say tech discussions now because of the resultant aggro from questioning and discussion.
  20. Looks like a nice job Wayne and would look even better with the rears done as well. I don't want to get involved with any so say mud slinging but do have a few questions/points: Can we see the templates/drawings you were given by Mark Rz to make the brackets or did you buy these or come to some sort of arrangement with him whereby they wouldn't be shown to other members? I agree this MAY be a decent budget upgrade to people not happy with J spec brakes or those who like to see a Brembo badged caliper in their wheels. Without testing I wouldn't like to comment on the effectiveness compared to a UK spec setup but I know they're often swapped out by Evo owners for the GT setup if they're looking for improved braking - especially on a track. They do look good though.
