  1. Ryan (I address this to you as I think you did the excel graph originally)...can you overlay the TTC plot onto the SRR dyno collection please? I just had a thought.... it would be interesting to have done this back to back without the 1st cat in place, I bet the top end gains would not be as different (ie you could maybe have run similar amounts of advance in seq mode as you did in TTC) without that 1st cat trapping so much heat and cooking everything back to the combustion chamber...hmmm.
  2. Agreed - the only difference is heat, surely. Was everything else the same on the dyno - temps/humidity etc? Ian do you have any EMU base maps of any sort for TTC with 256i/264e cams? Here's a thread of my thoughts on TTC (non mapped) from many moons ago... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=24280&highlight=ttc
  3. It's not accidental....lower torque can yield equal performance through the use of increased rpm and matched gearing... the cars can still be just as fast. By intentionally keeping the torque "low" a lot of drivetrain components can be lighter, smaller and potentially cheaper. I agree that the sluggish lazy torquey feel is lost though.
  4. Nice one - thanks guys. I searched for about 15mins this morning, maybe I was still asleep!! I love the wheels too Rob, took a while to choose (and they cost enough) so I don't like to run them when it's icy/salty on the roads!
  5. I'll take the nuts - can you get them to me for Tuesday?
  6. Slightly back on topic..... Does anyone care to post what they believe to be the optimum tyre size and make for the stock 17" wheels? I will be mainly using them for winter driving (although our winters are hardly arctic, they are usually damp at best). Stock: 235/45 and 255/40 Would 245/40 and 265/40 be any improvement - move tyre width and deflectable tyre wall on the back to help get power down? Eagle F1's, Proxes T1 - that's all I've ever used on my 18's...
  7. Within the last month or so one of our traders posted up about their new alloy wheel repair capability, I am sure it was Ibrar. I searched and searched but cannot find who it was, can anyone help? I want my stock 17's and facelift centrecaps refurbed and will probably want a decent set of tyres all round as well. Any ideas?
  8. All, I was about to swap my Racing Hart CR 18's for my stock 17's when I find out my father has misplaced my stock wheelnuts and facelift centres. I am desperate to get these stock wheels on (or more like get my 18's off for the winter) so can anyone lend me some nuts until he finds my ones? (Or if the price ir right I will buy them) Many many thanks Dan
  9. I'm not sure but I don't know what MRC is so i guess not
  10. Does anyone have a 4" thick core they want to sell?
  11. Does anyone have a 4" (100mm) thick intercooler core? I am not interested in any pipework or the 3" (76mm) core. Thanks Dan
  12. Ref. the front wheel skipping... I believe that can happen with certain tyre sizes and be unrelated to worn bushes.
  13. The ones I've seen do have beaded ends on the pipes. The end tank design is not great - agreed but neither is it that good on the Blitz LM V spec - see attached. The core is bar and plate - very strong and resilient to road debris (compared to a tube and fin) but internally the entry and exit to passages through the core is not streamlined at all. It will be better than a tired sidemount especially if ducted and sealed properly but as Nic said - say bye bye to your stock airbox.
  14. The misfiring I've seen was definitely not stock afr adjustment TR. My Supra doesn't do it and my brother's does not either. The car I saw it on was definitely misfiring but it was as described above - subtle but noticeable.
  15. I cannot comment on AFR's - only temperature (warmed up would highlight the problem but it certainly wouldn't have to be stinking hot or anything like that). Can anyone (TR if you're keen) wind your AFR's at idle down more towards the 12:1 kind of range and see what happens? Are we talking about a small blip in idle every 3 or 4 seconds or so? (A very slight and quick tiny misfire)...
  16. I've seen this on a decatted (but otherwise stock) vvti car so definitely not an injector size issue, DLI, AEM, etc etc etc...in that case it was only once the engine warmed up and at idle......(the vvti has different coilpacks and different TPS setup to earlier cars so there's an argument to say it's not those). Maybe crank position sensor?
  17. Can anyone post up ABS wiring colours for RLTC installation please? I need the info for a facelift 1996 non vvti manual. Many thanks Dan
  18. So where can I find a cheap hard wire type trickle charger guys? (For reasonable £££)
  19. Who said anything about bodging the Toyota system into an atmo vented setup? I'm confused. OK, I give up...
  20. The push-pull design makes it no more suitable to a MAF equipped car. What do you think the ecu does once it senses a massively over rich mixture being burnt?
