  1. Shall we complicate things a little more and bring the Mines altered OEM ECU into the discussion. e.g. In addition to fuel cut and rev limit increase, what about the ignition timing changes from the Mines ecu? Would the OEM ecu still pull timing back and then re-introduce it like normal when the Mines daughterboard is trying to advance it more than normal?
  2. From memory the hardpipes are 10mm outside diameter, how exact do you need it?
  3. Leave the nut on while you break the stiction on the spline next time....no chance of an injury then. BTW - nice job. I changed from the 4 spoke to a black TRD and would rate it as one of the best mods done to the car - honestly.
  4. Wow - very striking looking car. Nice turbo choice as well!
  5. Holy shit - I reckon I could make up my own for less than that!
  6. Christ - I typed a long post and lost it all and can't be arsed to type it again........I hate it when that happens! The basics of it were on radial bearing clearances and how wear/misalignment would have to occur there first before any seals get subjected to whirling shaft dynamics beyond what they are designed for.
  7. They look brilliant - nice choice Jamie. Lee is there any chance of some photos looking inside the calipers from the underside please - I'd like to get an idea of pad configuration and size. A UK spec front pad somewhere for reference would be perrrrfect.
  8. I'd like to see some pictures of the 4" please. Is it in good condition?
  9. Expanding foam, aluminium sheet, rubber sheet, fibreglass and various nuts, bolts, pop rivets etc etc.......a wise modification and one that I definitely could feel a difference with on either a hot or a cold day. It'll probably take you a while and you'll probably have the bumper on and off several times to get things perfect but it will be worth it. The top and bottom are easy, it is the sides that ae more tricky. I spent time sealing mine to the bumper aperature and then also to the radiator behind it as well.
  10. SL55 AMG is what I thought was on the auction page and that's what I am after....maybe that wasn't overly clear to start with, sorry. There's some useful stuff at the bottom of that page though, thanks. That being the case then there must be 2 piece Brembo's for sale somewhere for the AMG....
  11. I've had a nose around some Biot's Brembo stuff but can't SEEM to find any discs that aren't part of a full kit with calipers. The ones in the auction SEEM to be a floating setup which work with stock pads and calipers.... ANyone shed any info on this auction?
  12. OK guys, can anyone help me work out what make these floating discs are and where I might be able to source new ones from: http://page19.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/x40142849 I did a google translation but it wasn't that much help...I already know they are for a SL55 AMG but the stock ones are not fully floating so these must be aftermarket. Many thanks Dan
  13. Jamie sorry to go OT a little.... Is there any chance that you and/or Lee could take a few up close decent pics of the new Brembo front calipers please (all round and inside if possible)? I may be looking to use the same on a slightly different application but need to get an idea of shape/size etc... Thanks Dan By the way, if you duct the intercooler well you won't notice any difference with crash bar in/out.
  14. This is a bit of an odd request but can i see a pic of the trc switch please? I'm wondering if i can use that as an OEM looking rear fog switch in the bootom left switch location in the centre console. Cheers Dan
  15. I am interested but have a few questions (which will probably benefit others who are interested too)... 1. This might be a dumb question but how do they actually fix? Do they use stock wheel studs with special little nuts that go down inside the holes that are visible on the wheels? 2. Do they "locate" onto the stock hubs firnly with their centre hole or do they require hub rings? If they require rings then do you have them? 3. Do you know what the offsets are front and rear? Cheers Dan
  16. Is that right Steve...do you have a photograph?
  17. God yeah - been there done that.............thank god for cheaper widebands!
  18. I have not but I have another question...have you ever had your car on the rollers in its latest state of tune? It would be interesting to see it on the SRR.....it might show up some of the 4088 deficiencies in the low rpms and be a good tempter for a GT35R ot a T61
  19. I think that engine was "pushed out" under some sort of homologation ruling but from what I recall it was a bit of a blinder. I can't remember the details...maybe it was a flop or just too expensive to machine at the time?
