  1. The pipe or a wastegate for sale? Did you get my pm?
  2. Can anyone tell me the size of the "dump side" V band flange on a 44mm Tial gate? I am looking into recirculated dump tube fabrication and am currently sourcing pipe and bellows so need to know the size and don't have a wastegate to hand. Is it a 1.5" (38mm) bore? The Tial site says the feed is 1.875" and the outlet is 1.75"...is that the bore of the V band fitting? Cheers Dan
  3. These hybrids are up for £1000. A single kit is going to cost you a minmum of £2000, even more at the moment with the US exchange rate as it is. Then factor in the extras not included in turbo kits such as DBB water feed lines and that £1000 is a hell of a lot cheaper than any reputable single kit. I agree that a single kit is quicker to fit but it won't be £1500 cheaper....then factor in the mapping differences too. I have had a set of turbotechnics turbos on my car for 40,000 and they have never ever missed a beat or shedded a puff of smoke. I you are looking for sub 480bhp flywheel power, you want to keep insurance cheap then hybrids are great. I personally love the pull of a seq twin setup and that lazy sub 3000rpm surge is great. I have never been in another TT on stock based turbos that pulls as hard as mine and that includes stock, BPU and vvti bpu's in both manual and auto and I only run 1.15bar. So...naturally I don't agree with the "hybrid slating" and making apples to orange comparisons of drag racing times between two different cars is no fair way to draw conclusions. Just my 2 pence
  4. I'll have it if it has cam caps and is not damaged, cracked or warped.
  5. Yep thanks Col - much appreciated. I don't like them.....it is the appeal of a simple set of monocolour rims with no polished lip etc etc to worry about that appeals to me. You saved me a log of aggro doing that.....the search contines Jay - the gold really does look nice in real life and can't be appreciated from those shitty pics. In the flesh with clean gunmetal the two colours somehow really complement one another. I'm after another decent set of 18's for the winter as I am not 100% keen on the facelift stockers I run at the moment...
  6. I think it's a shop job - 1st pic looks a bit iffy where the wheel tucks behind the bumper. It's the same car, different lighting. Agreed. Any other photoshoppers out there who can make use of one of the latter two pics please?
  7. Nice one Colsoop, thanks. How about using one of these pics, better quality, worse angle...
  8. Could somebody please drop a set of wheels onto my car from the attached photos please? One side view and one rear quarter view if possible? Many many thanks in advance. Dan Editted: My car is the Supra by the way....I'd like to see the Porsche wheels on the Supe Cheers Dan
  9. What offset Rob and more importantly, what were you running at the front end?
  10. I think I will be ok on the inside for clearance and intend to take some measurements of my 275's on 10" rims to compare (46 offset). I plugged those sizes into the supraforums excel document and it suggests more like 53mm offset is needed on the rear and I can only guess that is for arch rubbing? No worries mate - thanks for posting up. I just didn't want a whole raft of replies from people with nothing meaningful to offer other than what they have read or heard related to stock offsets and stock wheels. I run stock wheels when the weather is cack and Racing Hart CR's in 18" when it is good so have an idea what happens when you move away from stock (not much with the Racing Harts, thankfully) What offset and tyres are you running with those monsters?
  11. Anyone ever driven one or been in one? What about a Prodrive version? Any thoughts compared to running a BPU Supra?
  12. Ok fellas, Is anyone running an 18 x 11" rear wheel with a 295 30 tyre? I have an oppurtunity to get some tasty wheels 11" rear and 8" front with 295 at the rear and 235 up front. Offsets will be 48 at the back and 35 at the front. Any opinions from people have run either of these size and offset combos? Please do not post up to tell me the stock offset and how these are different and therefore they must be terrible. I am interested in any first hand experience of anything related to this kind of setup. Thanks Dan
  13. But the UK turbine wheels are smaller than J specs so in theory they should be less laggy than steel bladed (Hybrid) jap turbos. I'm not arguing...I'm just interested in what Ian means.
  14. You are right in that 600+ is not too shabby. I never suggested there was a power issue. However there is no mention of what the manifols "is" and it looks like an XS type manifold which we all know are crap and it is a 4088 non DBB turbo which many people here have proved are inherently unreliable. If I bought that car I would have to be budgeting for another manifold and turbo ready for when either of those give up. When you say custom manifold...what is it? Also it doesn't look like any bigger turbo would fit on that manifold as the comp. housing is very close to the breather fitting? Anyway - I love the look of the car....bright but strangely understated. Very nice.
  15. If that had a decent manifold and turbo it would be a great motor.
  16. Anyone know who owns this car? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/759722.htm
  17. How much do you want to spend?
  18. I'd love some with jets built in.
  19. OK well couple of questions for you then.... 1. Does this include the water lines for the turbo and if so what fittings do you have for the feed/return locations? 2. What coating do you have on the manifold? Is it the regular silver or did you go with the black heat insulation finish? 3. Same as above for downpipe? 4. What air filter is in the kit? 5. Is the turbo a genuine Garrett item - boxed and ID'd as such? Cheers Dan
  20. If you change your mind about any deviation from the posted price for the turbo kit then give me a shout to discuss......cash waiting.
  21. I've changed mine once and on another vvti too. Did it at about 70k as a preventitive thing. Nothing like that bad but there was some evidence of the inner ply starting to come in
  22. Chico - any reason you haven't replied to my pm about the headlights?
