  1. I am still making space in the garage after moving house and have decided to get rid of my Tein HAs. These were on my car for several years and did me proud. They give a firm ride but not as hard as the Jap spec Ohlins kit. Right now I'm on height adjustable CW Bilstein suspension and I was keeping the Tein HAs as spares in case I didn't like the CW setup. ANyway...I'm happy with the CW kit so no need to keep this any more. The threaded adjusters were all replaced just over a year ago (thans Mr Whiffin!) and CW fitted the stock top mounts for me as the Tein ones were a bit noisy. The damping adjusters at the top move fine and freely. Everything worked well when I was using it and the parts have just been sat in the garage since. As you can see they look old and tatty; I was going to do a bit of a cosmetic refurb but decided there's not really any point. £200 collected from Gloucestershire area or I can post but definitely at buyer's expense! Thanks Dan
  2. Any idea what they are like in terms of fit compared to the OEM Recaros? The Recaros are a litle bit "cozy" for me and these look a similar width across the bum and shoulder area.
  3. Mine drives good in the wet. It used to be a little skittish but that was a combination of mega stiff suspension, less than optimal geometry and Eagle F1s. I am now on even wider (and therefore theoretically worse in the wet) 255/35/18 and 315/35/17 Vredestrein Ultrac Sessanta tyres with sofer suspension and the car drives beatifully in wet or dry. The tyres make a huge difference. Dec 2010/Jan 2011 I had to use the car for a few weeks in mega snow and ice conditions - and I don't mean the gritted and slushy crap on motorways and A roads....I mean a lot of driving on sheet ice and 1"-3" on fresh as well as compacted snow. I had 225/50/17 and 245/45/17 Continental winter tyres on and it drove very well with predictable grip levels and sensible stopping capability. With Eagle F1s on it was impossible to move forward on sheet ice.
  4. OK - I reckon it's a 62-1340. http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=62-1340 Sorry chap, please try again. Thanks Ibrar - the brakes are one of my favourite modifications. They feel absolutely amazing on the road and look spot on too
  5. Coming up to 8 years for mine. It survived two house moves (where it could have been sacrificed for deposits) and a wedding
  6. Will do, thanks for the offer. I think my inbox was full - sorry. Cleared a bit of space now.
  7. I've had a load of pm's about these fellas but I'm flat out busy decorating and moving into a new house so apologies for not replying to everyone separately. If anyone wants to offer £250 collected then I'll consider them sold as that's saves me the hassle of wrapping them up for postage etc.
  8. I know a lot of people having DPF related issues - mostly people who pootle around town/suburbia and never do any long journeys. I heard there was something on TV (Watchdog or similar) about the new little Fiat 500? that is having lots of issues with the DPFs not regenerating. I was also referring to inlet manifold butterflies and actuators clogging up, control diaphragms splitting, EGR valve assemblies sooting up, dual mass flywheels wearing out..... That's nothing My dad's 2001 diesel Astra is about 200miles off 300,000miles now. Going to look at another one this week as it's proven the most reliable motor we've ever had.
  9. Show us a photo and mark up some basic dimensions on the photo - length, diameter at each end etc I could probably test them for you to get the rate(s) which would be a good starting point for new springs. D.Faulkner can make springs, they did several for me.
  10. If you look at servicing over the next five years I would bet my single Supra will be far cheaper than that beemer. Modern diesels are a nightmare IMO, especially if you are not thrashing them up and down the motorway everyday.
  11. It's a K&N definitely. I'll go through my receipts to try to find a part number.
  12. I'm thinking of selling the sideskirts I took off my car in the Summer. They are OEM and in original gunmetal colour. The passenger one has a crack at the underside leading edge but it would be a very easy fix, expecially if respraying them anyway. I have a ballpark figure in mind but I'm just wondering what they go for nowadays? Anyone interested? Thanks Dan
  13. I'll check the springs and fittings and get back to you. I think Jamie had the hose babrb fittings off me but you are better off with decent fittings anyway rather than barbed hoses - I think the threads are M10x1.0 but I will check.
  14. H cover Scott - no chopping at all. No doubt my cast manifold altered the alignment compared to your setup, I guess it made this bit easier. I editted to add a link but if you go back to the start of my project thread you'll see all the pipes being made as that was one of the first jobs I did. There may be some clearer pics there but I can't look as I am on a terrible internet connection. From memory the U bend actually works out to a bit less than 180degrees and it is made in two pieces with a straight join.
  15. I did mine without a 90 on the compressor housing - dropped down past the alternator area and then a big gradual U bend out and back in to the intercooler. Edit: Should be clear in second pic of this post http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?194439-Dan-s-Supra-Project&p=2522113&viewfull=1#post2522113
  16. This is a leftover DP and MP set from back when I was doing my single conversion. I bought three of these and got them for a decent price - I was planning to use them to piece together some turbo kits based around a cast manifold like my setup. Fast forward a year or more and I just can't be bothered now to be honest and it makes no sense having spares sitting around as there's no need on an item like this as they don't wear out. As you can see they are well made and the welds are nice and neat - the inside where the bosses are welded are nicely deburred too. As far as the shape goes, they are for BL/HKS/SP manifolds with the angled turbo position. If you have a look at the BL site here you'll see the shape is the same. There's a boss for the stock Toyota sensor and a couple of ports for a wideband too. http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/wm.php/images/SKU_Supra4DPMP.jpg http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=79989&d=1218130296 My DP was modified quite a lot to suit my cast manifold turbo alignment but that's not really relevant here as these are set up for conventional tubular manifold installs. If anyone wants to see pics of my downpipe being modifed then there are some photos here. On my car the downpipe is Zircotec coated and the midpipe is wrapped - both are still in great shape after about 11,000miles use. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?194439-Dan-s-Supra-Project&p=2486846&viewfull=1#post2486846 I just want to get my money back so I'm after as close to £250 as possible. Ideally we're looking at collection or postage on top at the buyer's expense. The big V band clamp is included and comes with a locknut - I used the non lock not version to make it easier to thread on for the photo. I also have a 4" flex section (same as I used in mine) for £25 if anyone is interested in adding that in (you can see it in one of the photos). Thanks Dan
  17. Had a couple of people pm me about this and then all went quiet so bump.....
  18. I should be fitting mine this week - I'll post up a few pics
  19. I bought these in the summer when I was considering fitting some fixed back seats into the Supra. I can't justify the whole expense of it right now so these are up for sale. They are used but in good condition. I think they are a bargain at £125 including insured postage. £115 for cash on collection from Gloucestershire area. (They're £170 plus postage from Demon Tweeks) Thanks Dan
