  1. I've only heard horror story's from the older bikes, uncle had an 03 ish gsxr and the gearbox split on him spilling oil over the exhaust. Also had a couple friends with electrical gremlins... I think I just need to test ride a few bikes to find what I'm after. With them being more of a toy the cost of insurance is a factor I need to look at too.
  2. Nice looking bike, I love the exhaust! I am a little worried about the reliability of bmws, suzukis and ducatis... So the cost of running is a consideration.
  3. 6ft 63kg 21 I tend to end up on the motorway but I'd like to do some track days. There's nothing wrong with my hornet.... I just feel too comfortable on it and would like to ride somthing more challenging.
  4. I was actually looking at the 04/05 model. Would you not say it had more character to it? I want a bike I can really grow into and respect rather than jump on and be over confident on. I know that they dumbed down the zx10r for the mass market and that the 04/05 was an award winning bike. I would love a ducati but I don't think I could afford the breakdowns and the supra addiction...
  5. So I'm currently riding a Honda hornet 600 and loving it! Looking to the future, I'd love a bigger bike. I think I'm pretty close to being dead set on a zx10r but I'd like to hear your opinions on the big bikes. What have you ridden and what do you currently ride? What bikes would you recommend?
  6. I love how you say 'properly quick' as if your cossie isn't quick enough haha Deffintly see if you can get yourself to a few meets or find a car to test drive, will help you decide what you really like. Like looking for any car, wait for one that's right for you, no point settling for somthing you don't like to start with. Maybe have a look at importing one? Torque gt down in Devon would be my recommendation for an importer. Good luck with the search
  7. Hello Tom. Ive still got my cossie and I don't think I'll ever be able to sell it. Yours looks simply incredible! What makes you want a supra? Are you in need of more power? I'd deffintly recommend driving an auto, I was dead against auto but I couldn't be happier with my UK spec auto now. Looks like there might be a few gearbox swaps coming soon that will handle more power than the stock auto...and won't be as rare as a good manual box...
  8. Now this is exciting news The stalk looks good, interested to see how you get on with installing it. How much of a real difference is there between the whifbitz smic and the CW one?
  9. What work are you having done? The Wales branch? I agree with the cruise control, the speed control would be good to retain but if you're hardly on the motorway. I can't see much of a point having the stalk to hand otherwise. What stalk do you have in mind?
  10. After an uprated SMIC to replace battered orignal. Also after Bonnet Damper kit and replacement boot gas struts Thanks in advance
  11. Don't have the current service history with me but the car has done 116k miles and the gearbox fluid was dark red in colour. Took near as damn it 2 litres after cycling through all gears and checking with engine running and gearbox in neutral. Used a sealey multi purpose mini pump to get it in the dip stick tube.
  12. A full service history is great but does it need to be stamped by toyota or your local garage? Would you think twice of one written in by the owner? If you service you car yourself do you have a stamp made up for such uses?
  13. Thank you very much David, this wealth of knowledge you have led me to should shut me up for some time as I read it all!
  14. Face palm. I was expecting the whole gearbox to drain itself if I took the obvious drain plug out. Thanks for the piece of mind and tips.
  15. I've done a fair bit of searching both here and google but i'm having a hard time finding the basics of an auto gearbox oil change. I'm not after a full flush just a change of 2 litres. Any advice? I've managed to find the removal and installation for the e340 box..but none the wiser on an oil change.
  16. Im after how they look inside the car. Hoping to find somthing that's discrete
  17. As title, what dash cam setup do you have? I'm after some inspiration
  18. Okay brilliant, ill have a look at its picture then pm for details and things. Im in no rush
  19. Im loving how oem you're making this all look. Tasteful and well executed
  20. Aem wideband, greddy oled boost gauge and whifbitz 3" decats ordered. Just need to find a fuel pump as mines most likely original. Is it worth having a flexible section fabricated into the exhaust system?
  21. It doesn't seem worth taking any unnecessary risks. I'll add the walbro 255lph pump to my shopping list. Looking at the Aem wideband : http://www.garagewhifbitz.co.uk/aem-widebandgauge.html Sensor needs to be installed away from any water build up in the exhaust and close to the manifold? So to get the terminology clear in my head, it gets installed into the 1st decat pipe (short one), both decats making up the downpipe?
  22. looks like you guys are defiantly right about the stock uk fuel pump, my question now is...if I don't replace it for bpu, how would I tell if it wasn't man enough? Install a fuel pressure gauge? I don't want to replace a perfectly fine pump, in the same light...I don't really want to downgrade my pump.
