  1. If you cannot find the oring find one with the correct inside diameter, material for the job and protruding +15-20% above the mating surface.
  2. Before you cut your paint back (little to no swirls) you really should use a paint depth gauge, then when you have cut back your paint and refined with ultrafina generally turn your speed down and back off the pressure which is called "jewling".
  3. It's an art, get yourself plenty of practice panels and an orbital polisher. The trick to cutting paint back with an orbital is pressure, use good lights and slow passes back and forth. Use correct pads with a good cutting compound (3m fast cut followed by ultrafina is reasonably cheap) I use scholl concepts mainly but swap out with different compounds and pads for different paint types etc.
  4. So the mailman delivered a parcel last week, whether I use this Turbo is another question. It's a CT26 from the 1JZ Mk3 supra and other Toyota models etc. It does need a rebuild as it has some radial play. Any info on this Turbo and whether it will be suitable for my NA would be greatly appreciated.
  5. I'd make sure your needle isn't stuck lol! Good going if it's not!
  6. They are Dueltech Supralee. I weighed up the options and didn't go for the Mono's. They are apparently a little more harsh because of the top mounts. As I want the car for 95% Street car I want comfort (must be getting old).
  7. Cheers mate. For the exterior I just need to get some headlights, strip the clear coat off the rims and polish them, remove the rust from exhaust and polish them. In going to try and give the bonnet a good cut and polish for now.
  8. So the coilovers have been fitted and adjusted. Apart from a little scrub the car is sitting nicely. These HSD's are as smooth as silk and come highly recommended.
  9. I think I may have found the missing spring. I'll let you guys know later when I rebuild the calipers. Thanks for the help!
  10. There ain't no rush mate. The car is in bits atm. Thanks though.
  11. There is a prop manufacturer near to me (http://www.cpsdrivelink.co.uk) who I believe could make the prop work. The clutch kit seems the best idea for me. Thank you all for the info.
  12. Hi all, I have been doing quite a bit of research on the adaption of other boxes for the Supra/2jz. I am swaying towards using a 530d box with the abc clutch adapter. Is there anyone here that uses one? My car is an Na auto and going to convert to turbo manual. My reason for wanting a 530d box instead of the w58 or the r154? If I choose to go down the W58 box they have a bad reputation for quality above 350bhp. The R154 box is awfully expensive imo. Yes I know the price of the adaptation kit, the box, the bellhousing adapter etc will come to the price of the R154 box and more but what happens if I buy an r154 and it blows within a few weeks, it's an expensive rebuild or a replacement. Once the kit is purchased 530d boxes are ten a penny in breakers yards etc, I could buy 5 spares for the price of another 154. Am I thinking logically? Yes the resale value will be lower on my car but is not for sale and won't be any time soon. It's for me.
  13. If anything is coming apart that requires gaskets to fit it's always best to have a new one ready, you never know the condition of the part until it's off. I know I only like to take something apart once if possible.
  14. If you don't mind please, I'd like them to be complete (I'm a bit ocd like that). I really appreciate it!
  15. Hi Scooter did you manage to find any mate?
  16. Rang Toyota today as I can't find these anyway online... Either £10.41 or £30?!?!? And people say bmw are expensive! Does anybody have one laying about I could buy without crying?
  17. No bother Paul, anyone else wanting it done just send me a message, I'll forward an address, if you send £25 (£5 being for return postage and £20 for a few pints:). I'll do as many as needed as long as it is just general wear and no tears or chunks missing as this makes it much more work.
  18. Something so simple. Thanks very much!
  19. I've searched in Google images, different search words, exploded diagrams and for the love of my I can't find this part description or part number, I only need one but it's going to stop me rebuilding my front brakes when I get my service parts. Please if you can tell me the part number or name... It's doing my head in [emoji35]! Thanks guys
  20. Ball bags, mine just turned up brand new today. Would have had these off you
  21. Send it to me Chris, I'll do if for a minimal charge, I'm trying some new products as the previous stuff I used didn't react well with the hand oils etc. If yours is ruined there is no harm in me doing it anyway. Will be the fraction of the price of a retrimmed one.
  22. Thanks for the info, I've bought the items needed from AFC. I will be upgrading to some big brakes when the turbo time comes, for now I'm just going to use the car as is. My plan is to use the car until the tax runs out in December, in the mean time I've ordered my coilovers, bought necessary replacement brake parts, I'm going to buy my turbo bits and gearbox adaption parts (going to use the 530d box). When December comes the car will get laid up until it's turbo and manual. This will be when the brake options will get looked at. Atm it just needs to stop the raw power of its auto 220BHP... It's an animal haha
