  1. Urgh... the turbo manual conversion can't come quick enough. I want to make sure I'm doing my conversion on a healthy engine though.
  2. Plus... Overdrive flashes when driving normally.
  3. What does the selections mean on the auto. Sorry to be all nube on this, what does the 2 and L stand for? Is L low range? What is 2 for?
  4. It did open, you can feel it, shame it does not open earlier because when the car changes gear it takes a while to get there again.
  5. Fixed the binding brakes so it's not that, I'll check ignition and compression
  6. I thought it may have been the binding brakes but can't be now. I'll see if I can get her on a rolling road. I'd be surprised if it's putting out 160bhp
  7. The car will eventually go Turbo + Manual but I'd like to ensure the condition of the engine first, if there is any issues I'd really like to iron them out now. Cheers guys.
  8. OK guys, I've had this car for a few weeks now, after getting my brakes, suspension and rattles in the dash sorted out I took it out last night for a roll around. I've come to a conclusion thought, it's hideously slow! My 320d touring would not only trounce it but pull it over the finish line in a race to help it out. Is this generally the case with NA autos? I'm going to have a look at the rotor arm and dizzy later (had many vauxhalls with similar issue). Is there anything else I can look at to check. The car has been recently serviced, new plugs, belts, second hand box fitted (all of this by previous owner so not sure what it was like previously).
  9. I'd buy them as is as I'm looking for some. I'd refurb them myself. How much would you take for them plus postage?
  10. I'm wanting to strip the original manufacturer's coating on the dashboard so I can paint them my own colour. I've seen folks in the US use googone or something like that. Will thinners/panel wipe work?
  11. Now... This is my pet hate (more of an illness as I have misophonia/acute hatred of certain sounds). I cannot stand rattles or squeaking within interiors of cars. And this one is so bad I'd end up destroying the car in a fit of rage if it was allowed to continue... So here comes the investigation into why my car rattles like a child's shaker toy... and here is my (temporary) solution. The clips retaining your dash are made of metal and they are clipped onto plastic but loosely... A little bit of insulation tape between the plastic and the clips (cut oversize) has done the trick, I'll test drive the car later and see how much better it is but as for the tap test it's 99% better. The dash fits more snugly and I used a little grease between the upper binnacle and the leather part of the dash to stop the squeaking.
  12. I know what you mean. I'm looking into getting some Brembo brakes for it when the turbo install happens, atm I just want brakes that were not binding to do a few small runs out. If they bind early I'll bite the bullet and get the brakes earlier.
  13. I'm not sure about training, it's best to look online for who is in your area and the lenses came with the car, sorry, I'm not sure where they were purchased
  14. My wheel nuts were looking a bit scabby within a few changes so I decided to strip them back with some stripper, I might reanodise them in gold and match the emblems and rear badges.
  15. Just read your comment, may I ask how much xspower offered you the essentials for? I understand if you didn't want to say.
  16. Sorry if this is slightly hijacking your thread but why is it when people Na-t they hardly ever do a front facing intake manifold? It looks so much better.
  17. Bit far for me to go mate. I'll pass but thanks for the invite.
  18. When and where? The paint is still shocking tbf. The bird etchings really let the bonnet and roof down.
  19. Get yourself a Carrera Kraken from Halfords, save a few quid at the same time. Cracking bikes (no pun) I've had two and done many miles on them with basic maintenance.
