Woah, that looks ideal mate. How much are you looking for? Although I could probably make this with mine and my tig welder.
-
Thanks for the useful reply. I don't see what is wrong with what I want to do. The old auto unit looks old and outdated, and I like the look and feel of the manual surround (from when I also had my manual).
-
Thanks for the replies, very appreciated. My god this new platform is easier to use on mobiles haha. Del boy, have you removed the actual auto shifter under the gaiter? Ideally i will try and use the manual surround, and will try a nice loose, thin gaiter from something else like you said. How has yours actually been constructed? I would prefer the push down method instead of a push button on top of a manual gear knob. Thanks

Hi, There are two threads on here prior to the site change, and the images from photo bucket don't seem to load anymore. Even if this gets fixed, I still am wondering if anyone has found a better and more modern way of doing this. I have the manual gear surround, and want lockout in park/reverse etc. Like normal. Ideal situation would be an oem looking manual surround and knob. Please share your experiences and ways of doing so below, the more photos the better many thanks

Title says it all. Ideally a swap for my precision 3200 for a 3600/3800.
-
Hi, Anyone have a 3600/3800 converter they want to swap with my precision 3200 stall?
-
Turbonetics TNX 45/64. It states on the chart on a 3.0 litre it should be capable of 850bhp. The engine at 1.5 bar is completely stock, not even cams. It also is currently using a crap piggyback emanage blue. I'm sure with more compression with a rebuild and cams/valves, bigger intercooler and piping should help it?
-
It's allready at 1.5 bar. Don't really want to run more boost in a stock motor etc. To make more power healthy, needs cams etc. May aswell build it so it's not waiting to go bang. I did the compression and was about 140-150psi across all 6.

That is probably the best write up and advice ever, thankyou! The intercooler is just a cheap Chinese 3" core. Will be getting a decent branded one with a larger core. The issue I still have is the gearbox. In total I plan on spending around 10k om parts, max 12k, and will be doing all of it myself, except ofcourse the tuning. So even though I would love a t56 or v160, its probably out of my budget, bearing in mind I need to build the motor. Many thanks, Tom

When did this open up to be able to buy tickets to show your own supra? Not just walk in tickets? -
Thanks, this is the info I need, thanks. So, why asnu not Id? And with the intercooler, 4 inch core, but what size piping?
-
I would, but for the same price I could go manual. Also if I went to a built srd box, i would need a higher stall converter than i do now (3200) for it to work how I would like on the 1/4 mile. Which I could do but wouldn't be the most fun to drive on the street.

Hi guys/gals... I am currently running a tt auto from standard, with a single conversion, sard side feed injectors and a walbro 255, with a piggyback ecu at 520 hp at the crank (in a nutshell). Long story short, I plan to manual convert it (after 4 years of loving the auto) as I feel it's time for a change and want to go a notch up in the power level. I would like to go to around the 700hp mark, maybe a bit more, maybe just under, it's a street car, but like to drag it. The question is, what parts? I have a turbo good for the around 800bhp mark and plan to rebuild the bottom end oem and modestly build the top end (cams and retainers etc). So, opinion time...I know there are threads dating back to the start of the noughties, but these days there is alot more stuff about in the way of parts and tested power levels. So what gearbox goes in nicely (I'm not looking to throw 7k at an original supra getrag box). Below are the parts I'm looking at so far, please fire your opinions away and better options of proven: Box: -E36/46 m3 420g 6 speed getrag manual -350z cd009 Conversion kit: -PMC for both of the above boxes (with clutches) -Colins adaptors Injectors: -Asnu 900-1100cc -Injector Dynamics id1050cc -Bosch ev14 Cams (what lift/lobe is recommend for the 650-750 range?) -GSC -Brian Crower Valve springs/retainers: ??? Fuel pump: -walbro 450 -walbro 485? ECU: -link g4+ or similar -syvecs -haltech Intercooler need increasing from 3 inch inlet/outlet? All opinions and possible proof of parts working at the desired power level is appreciated (especially with the gearbox') Thanks

Yepp, is a complete 3" straight pipe from the turbo back. Is definately surge, sounds like a slightly qieter flutter, but when on boost, not letting off.
-
Runs perfect, apart from on full throttle...it then runs rich, like 10.0-1 afr
-
Because i don't have a spare few k's to throw at an ecu and mapping at the moment bud.
-
It hasn't however, the torque converter gets locked, or "stalled" when on the dyno, so wouldn't make a difference bud, but I get what you are saying. All the boost leaks and manifold make sense also, however it runs rich, not lean, which doesn't make sense haha...Is doing my head in this car.
-
Sorry, it is a greddy emanage blue piggyback. Completely different unrelated problem...It is now knocking...brilliant, however, I'm not sure if it is bottom end. It seems to happen only for a few seconds at a certain vibration on start up, but runs perfect any other time

Hi guys, I have an ongoing problem, that has been happening for a while. The car is a single turbo from twin, auto non vvti 1993. It was making 485hp at the crank for well over a year, and never let me down...however due to all the issues I have faced in the last year or so, it's really starting to piss me off haha. (I converted it myself to single about 3 years ago). So in a nutshell, this time last year the original gearbox started to go, so I bought one from a low mileage aristo, had it shimmed by David p and put I back in with a precision 3200rpm high stall. At the same time, I had two changed the boost controller from a greddy profec to an LD Performance one (the profec screen smashed and was advised to get the new LD one (including solenoid). After the gearbox and BC change, it felt like there was a low rev limiter at around 4.5k...the coil packs and connectors were changed, and that was solved. Then the surge started. The problem is, since all of this, on full boost (1.5 bar, yes it was properly mapped before and ran perfectly), it now turbo surges at 1.5bar, or anything over 1.2bar. It also runs very rich, around 10.0-10.6 afr when full throttle (driving normally it runs fine). And it due to this it feels like it is down on power to the 300hp mark. Trying to find out, and solve this issue, the following has been done. Plugs changed and gapped Coils packs changed Coil pack connectors Various small boost leaks sorted Wastegate changed and gasket Exhaust manifold skimmed Exhaust manifold gasket Turbo t4 gasket All vacuum lined Intake gaskets Throttle body gasket Intercooler swapped to make sure original wasn't leaking (There are no boost leaks, for certain) Boost controller Gearbox (aristo and shimmed) Gearbox filter and oil +stop slip Torque converter Compression test (all around 150 psi, 133k I'm mileage) Nothing has changed...I am now at a complete loss...pretty much everything has been done apart from rebuilding the motor haha... Any help would be hugely appreciated. I'll happily update on anything I may have missed. Thanks

Thanks, the rest of the sill is spot on...and to the person saying that there will be other problems with the car just because I have one patch of rust...it's absolutely fine thanks...it is indeed that one patch.
-
The rust is at the front of the sill, not the rear...The photo is on the drivers side
-
Yea, I know it's a welding job regardless...I meant i would cut out the rust, fully treat it, weld it and put an oem style skirt over it, so it doesn't look too bad. I would never just cover it up, and am definitely not looking at selling it. Even though I didn't know you could get those panels, I very much doubt I will do that, will just cut it out and repair...As the rest of the sill is perfect (from the outside)
