syco replied to Kim_ta22's topic in Supra Classifieds
Spot on. all my 3 kids gout out with me in mine youngest was five when first had car and oldest was 11. they have all sat in the back as they like to take it in turns in the front, plus the ones in back moan when the roof is in the boot. -
enjoyed reading your build, car looks stunning bud. I am struggling if to paint mine white or black. black looks awesome but already have a black st185.
-
thanks for the info, will try to remember.

very nice car you have there. it was nice to actually see another supra in my area as I never see any lol. Is your blue a std supra colour as I have not seen the blue in the flesh so aint sure. Have you had the car a while as pretty sure you drove along side of me once while I was in my black st185 along Birmingham new road and your car turned right going towards B &Q. But that would have been a couple of years ago as my gt4 as been sorned that long or more.

met blue with carbon arches , was going across the lights at himley hall junction heading towards wolvo. very nice car if on here. made me wish I had taxed mine this month

NA-T with current car or buy a TT - Pros vs Cons (advice appreciated)
syco replied to PJJ's topic in Supra Chat
suppose it also depends on if you have got to pay someone to do all the labour or DIY, as that would had a significant increase to the cost. For me it was an easy choice. I wanted an aero and they were way out my price range ,so got an NA and have been slowly collecting the parts to got NA-T. -

wow, your car is near enough my perfect supra(missing the aero roof). Mine needs a good tidy, ideally a new paint job as its not the best, just got me some new wheels which look abit like yours. and thinking of taking my sideskirts/spats off, and defo changing the front lip to a type 1 lip. heres when I got it. binned the 20" straight away and put my volks on but they look abit tiny, so just in the process of getting tyres for my new wheels.

woh, 25 is a lot. is there plenty of space in the wheel tubs on std suspension as when I eventually get some new wheels, I wanted 10j -11j on rear and 9j on front but I am finding it hard to find sizes by searching as some tell you that there arches are rolled and some don't, then theres the ones were they stretch the tyres aswell which makes it more confusing. Steffen A, thanks for posting the pic, much appreciated, I love white supra's.
-
just curious, but with your current wheels fitted, are the arches rolled. asking as I have some 10j et10 which I was thinking of using, but don't want any rubbing or sticking out from arch.

thanks, think I am slightly getting the jist of it. I have just posted this on the map ecu site. to see if it will do,hope so. Hi, I am in the process of doing an na-t conversion on my jdm n/a auto. I recently read this thread: http://forum.clubna-t.com/showthread.php?t=3954 Which basically says that once the std map sensor see's boost it will fuel cut hence no boost. I have a map ecu1 lying around doing nothing so thought I could use this and noticed that there is a wiring diagram for it. But that it intercepts the map signal at the ecu but is connected to the std jdm ecu map signal still. I am not to sure if I am understanding it right or not. So my Q is does the map ecu1 get round this problem caused by the jdm na map sensor and if so , how? or do I need to do/use something else? thanks Sie
-
thanks for the input guys. Yes I had noticed that a lot use the emanage. thanks for mentioning you have one but just spent my last bit of dosh buying bits and bobs lol. I was going to do a gte ecu swap, but people said that that causes other issues to do with the auto box and I know naff all about g/boxes:( so that killed that idea. Think I will ask on the map ecu website aswell for input once I have checked abit more of what it can/can't do.

done a bit more reading, basically you have just got to stop the na map sensore reading boost. just for info to others: some have put a one way valve in the pipe to map sensor and then drilled a small hole in between the 2. Assume this is so the the sensor see's normal pressure till vacuum is created? Also been looking at the map ecu 1 wiring diagram and you have to cut the original wire to the std N/A map sensor and connect it to the map ecu1, so think that means would not have to do the above as the std ecu is no longer seeing the boost?, am I going in the right direction here? or is there more to it? just realized the map signal is still going from the map ecu 1 to the std ecu, all I am doing is taking the std map sensor out the equation, does this mean that I will still have the same cut out once boost is achieved?

I am pretty good with a spanner but no so much on techy leccy stuff. I have a Map ecu 1 which I got for my mr2 but never used as changed to rev3. would this sort it. if so will have to try and start understanding this clamping the voltage method as have no clue at moment. thanks for reply.

Since I have had my car I have been collecting the parts needed to convert it and thought I had got most things covered , so started reading again to refresh the memory of various processes and problems which people have had to deal with. But during this refresher course I read something which I had not seen on other posts regarding the jdm na ecu. It stated that jdm n/a map based cars would not let you boost past 3psi and that some kind of voltage clamp would be needed. Is this info correct? and if so what have people done so that they can boost to 7-9 psi. I will be doing the h/g later once I know the engine is running good with boost lol. Also if this is correct is there a difference depending on if you are auto or n/a, mine is auto . All info appreciated , thanks

that's actually a really good idea regarding the m10 bolts. I have now been to five local garages and a rover dealers round the corner and none of them have a wrench which goes higher than my own. Obviously they must only torque head bolts and do all else FT. Still thinking wheither to do as you said or invest, as I will probably get use out of it but been occupied by rabbit shed/run building at mo lol.
-
wow, that is one expensive piece of kit. think I might see if there are any local truck garages based on above post
