  1. Must say the BMW conversion cannot be all that as i see JamieP is selling his setup from his m3 and getting a v161 to go in it. You are absoluetly right regarding the lack of rebuilds being an option. It wouldnt bother me so much if they could be rebuilt but cost a lot to rebuild.
  2. Thank you for the replies. Im certainly leaning towards the v160/v161. Would of ordered one by now if it wasnt for the part supply being a huge sticking point!

  4. Hi all, I have used the search feature and see its been asked to death but no clear difinitve answer. Im buying an auto and want to convert it to manual. Money not so much an issue. Current options: R154 Bmw gearboxes T56 V160/v161 I would happily buy a v160/v161 but i believe i am right in saying some parts you cannot get hold of and no one has any plans to make them so it something goes wrong you have to bin the box? Thanks in advance all.
  5. Hi Tom, only just seen this! The car under my ownership never had a fuel cut problem but did similar as you described and that happens when the oem tc kicks in (snow mode). Your car has a restrictor plate and runs at 0.8 bar which is well within limits of turbos (1.2) i believe. Without obviously being with you it sounds exactly like a break in traction and the oem tc coming in. Hope you are still enjoying the car
  6. Bit of history behind this car but will keep it brief. Johnny purchased the car in 1999 and over the years had put many hours time and a lot of money into it. It’s had a lot of quality parts put into it although a little dated by today’s standards, He kept it maintained, doing all the work himself. It has spent some time off the road not being used since 2012. The car was then transferred to Johnny’s Dads house where it has sat until now. The plan was to hopefully sell the car and pass it on to someone who would continue to improve it and enjoy it. SRD offered to help and gave the car a check over and documented the spec. It has a folder full of receipts for parts which show the story of the conversion from stock car to what it is now. Unfortunately SRD did find that the car needs some work to get it up to a usable standard. For that reason it is being offered at a low price with the hope that someone will want to buy it as a project. The price we are asking is £10,000 The spec of the car is below 1993 Toyota supra Hard Top, original 6 speed TT car 125,000 km approx 2JZ-GTE engine, stock block HKS 2835 Twin Turbo Kit with custom water lines HKS 272 Camshafts HKS Cam pulleys (new style) HKS 1000cc Injectors HKS Fuel Rail HKS 4” FMIC Kit HKS SSQV Dump Valve HKS Spark Plugs Aeromotive FPR Uprated Fuel Pump Mocal Engine Oil cooler HKS Midpipe HKS Super Drager Exhaust Sard Analyse ECU Apexi Super AFCII Apexi Turbo Timer SRD Rebuilt Alternator New cam cover seals and washers Metal top rad hose Spal Twin fan Kit on custom brackets V160 6 speed manual RPS MAX Clutch Fidanza Flywheel B03B large case Diff Short Shifter Tein Super Street Suspension AVS Model 5 18" Wheels J Spec brakes with drilled discs Braided Brake lines UK Spec Head lights Sparco Seats Sony Head unit and CD Changer Infinity Auto System Meta alarm and Immobiliser Painted Dash panels Bad points The front turbo has failed so needs a rebuild Compression test results on the engine were a bit low and the engine is a bit noisy so would need a strip down and refresh. 1: 150 2: 162 3: 168 4: 160 5: 160 6: 150 The paint work is not very good and although it looks ok it could do with a respray. The front NS caliper is sticky. Really needs a decent ECU setup Selling as sadly my other supra will not sell so i have no space or funds to take on this car. V5 has just arrived so ready to go Could do with the car being gone this weekend. As you can tell this has been copied from Lees original post as nothing has changed with the car what so ever. 7. Thank you for sharing mine. As has already been said if you can stretch your budget a little further all will suit be great buys.
  8. Right the car is going to have to be re sold. Left it as late as i can.
  9. Hit me with an offer. Worst thing that could happen is i say no.
  10. Tbh seems no one is buying supras atm! As you can all see im selling mine and have had 2 time wasters and nothing more. Dont think its the price or car itself simply the time of year.
  11. Yeah you will need to up your budget bud however if you can get a bit of a project then you might get one close to your budget! Its ok i was going to do a v161 conversion on it but bought a project supra instead. Very best of luck with your search! Well worth the wait and extra cash.
  12. Yeah im afraid eveyone is right. I have a 2000 vvti with 60k miles but its an auto instead of a 6 speed. Asked jm imports about importing the same car but a 6 speed instead and was told at least 20k. That was a couple of months ago.
  13. Any reason why anyone is being put off? Cant believe i have had zero interest atm. - - - Updated - - - Any reason i have had no interest at all?
  14. May be back up for sale soon! Other supra isnt selling and have had 2 complaints from neighbours about storage so looking like if the other wont sell i will have to sell this one! Pissed is an understatement
  15. Me too as option B is to break it or option C is sell the one i have literally just bought
