Jakes Sz supra build- The details count
dantheman replied to ripped_fear's topic in mkiv Supra Projects
looking sweet jake and thanks just started a build thread of my own in the supra chat forum lol your is certainly a show stopper -
in between all of that aswell i cut the vents out of the old bonnet as it was fiberglass and had a massive split in it and i have started to mould them into the new alli bonnet
-
but then i had a thought that i had seen flared arches on a supra before and thought i want to make this one a complete one off something totally different from the rest so i decided to go back to the drawing board and completely custom make a wide arch body kit myself from scratch and here's how it has come together so far, bare in mind its taken alot to get the rear arches the same and there still not finished lol
-
i was going to go for normal flared arches i had even got them all shaped out and welded as you can see
-
after this had been done i coundnt continue with fitting the engine back into the car as i need a drivers wing a pair of head lights and a radiator so that i am able to fit fixings onto the space frame before painting the engine bay so instead i started on the bodywork of the rear arches
-
after all this had been cured i set to carfully rebuilding the engine as much as possible before putting engine back in and this is the result of the painted bits
-
and as i had paint already mixed up i went and painted a load of other engine parts and engine bay parts ready for fitting after painting engine bay
-
and also desided to paint all the intake bits and rocker covers - - - Updated - - - thanks mate shes coming along quite nicly just waiting on parts then wont be long till shes finished lol
-
i also deep cleaned the engine bay then desided to take it a step further and give the engine some paint
-
once i had space framed the front end i got looking at the engine and even though i plan on doing a tt conversion at a later date i wanted the engine to look show worthy so i desided to take the engine out giver her a clean
-
after straightening out the chassis i got to space framing the front i went for welded joints as i couldnt find anyone with a big enough pipe bender at the time but the welds will be ground down and smoothed out before painting
-
