Inboxed you mate. -
Sorry but coming from working within the public sector. This is a glimpse of what could happen if you cut back the wrong departments. Unfortunately if you reduce numbers, some will slip through intelligence. I hope there's an end to this madness.

Possibly, but that car I've used and showing as a TURBO rather than what it should be is an import.. I may have to speak with an importer to see if they register it as that etc
-
I'm not as sure, I put a plate in as an import and still came up as a turbo rather than RZ Twin Turbo etc. It can't just be one database, the pictures are from a comparison website. My only logical thinking is when they're registered in a UK, perhaps sometimes they are put down as a Turbo rather than RZ etc..

The main reason I've observed this was because the difference between insurance quotes, it had thrown me quite a bit. It wasn't until I really checked through it thoroughly that I noticed. I've looked on an insurance website and selected "don't know registration plate" and these are details;

Guys, I'm just trying to clarify some details and that I've noticed, and perhaps others have noticed. To make this a simple as I can this is my example; - You have two cars, both are exactly the same (in this case lets say a Toyota Supra TT6 Import) - for the example, vehicle 1 has a registration plate of "1" and vehicle 2 has a registration plate of "2" Starting the insurance quote you put in "1", press confirm and the vehicle comes up "Toyota Supra 3.0L TURBO", you confirm it's imported etc and you receive a insurance quote of lets say £800 Now using "2" as the registration plate, press confirm, bare in mind they are exactly the same cars (for our example), and instead of "Toyota Supra 3.0 TURBO" coming up.. "Toyota Supra 3.0 RZ Twin Turbo" comes up. Now this seems to be happening with different Supra's I put through as an insurance quote, despite being all the same cars essentially they are coming up slightly varied as models on the insurance. The reason I'm asking this, is because there's a variation in the insurance quote. Vehicle "1" will come out around £1000 cheaper than "2". Does anyone know why this is, have any of you noticed the same? I apologise if to some this doesn't make sense but it's the easiest way I could describe it. Kind Regards, Jordan

Thanks for that, that post I think really raises some valid points I haven't thought to consider about. I'll definitely look further at insurance on imports, I haven't done any thorough research to be honest. Hopefully it turns out positive! Really appreciate everyone's feedback so far![GRIN][/GRIN]

Firstly the reason I'm limiting myself to a UK spec supra is the massive difference in insurance for me, I've only recently turned 20 and there's over £2500 difference in insurance between a UK spec and Import which is frustrating. To the above about that blue supra, I've noticed exactly the same. It's been on there for a long time and has had 3 different price tags. At one point it was up for £18,995. The black one is new, looks nice from the outside but I would like some time with it to check underneath and test drive it, especially with its mileage. I did see the white UK spec supra for sale on this forum but I only saw it a week ago after it had been sold, I would've happily paid more than the asking price for it. I've set a £14k budget but happy to pay more on a mint example. I'm in no rush to buying one, I'm happy to be picky on what I'm looking for and feel the patience will pay off, and be worth it.

Afternoon, I'm currently browsing the forums at looking buying a supra, waiting patiently for one to come up in the spec I'm after which is a UK Spec Twin Turbo 6 Speed, budget of £14k. I had all intentions of buying one towards September, October time but I am happy to buy one prior to this and let it sit in a garage for a while until my insurance is due for renewal. I frequently look at pistonheads and auto trader as well, and have seen cars that I'm after, however I've tried to do some research on the seller, which is a garage but can't find much. And I don't particularly want to do a 10 hour round trip to see these two cars, and be offered bad customer servicing or in poor condition. These are the two vehicles; http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/toyota/supra/rare-uk-twin-turbo-manual-6-speed-mint-example/1387371 http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/toyota/supra/very-rare-black-uk-twin-turbo-manual-6-speed-only-one-owner-from-new/4168884 I was wanting to know if anyone has had any interaction with this company? If you have, what was the garage like, what experience did you have? I have sent an email to the company making enquiries and had no response, I've also called them but the male I spoke didn't seem enthusiastic and didn't have much detail to hand. And yes, I will be paying my £10 so I can start looking at what you're all selling:innocent:

Thanks! I've only ever sat in a supra idle so a ride in one would be amazing.

I like your sense! Ideally this is what I wanted to do, pick up a TT then learn to drive it on a track. I know a few have said it's a tail happy car but I really won't be hooning on roads, there's only a time and place for that style of driving. I just want it to be my pride a joy! Plus I will be modifying it, so I don't want to have to spend on two different cars! One question. What is BPU? Not used much jargon!

I'd love to mate! Let me know when it's up and running again?

They are nice cars, I only bought it because of insurance purposes! Is there anything that has something on a supra?
