  1. Those wheels look incredible. Meisters have always been my dream wheel in full polished with gold hardware.. perhaps once the rest of my car car is finished I'll buy a set!
  2. Got the wings fitted last night.. although after doing it i think its become apparent that you need to fit the doors first
  3. If you're planning on replacing the glass you can still buy the windscreen from Toyota. I bought one last week, only £290 and came in 2 days. I got the quarter glass from Paul Pridham at TCB, both sides for £168.
  4. The paint finish is absolutely phenomenal. Im so pleased with it. My colleague Ash did such a good job, i really started to doubt whether the car would ever look properly straight again. I work in this industry which can often be a curse when looking at your own car with a trained eye. I thought for sure that there would be a high likelihood of having a few ripples somewhere given the amount of work that had been done fabricating a new quarter panel and sills and taking the whole thing back to bare metal. But i must have underestimated my team - Ash who painted the car has done a flawless finished. Not a single ripple, silicone or run! Its like glass! Now just to fit all the new seals and trims..
  5. Some good progress We had a brand new booth with underfloor extraction installed which just so happened to coincide with the Supra being ready for paint
  6. Looking for a very good condition/mint drivers door car RHD.
  7. Thought I'd updated this but clearly not.. So the car is now primed at long last. Buzzed over the whole thing again with 320 and then got two good coats of Spectral Epoxy primer on. Then the following day gave it another 2 good coats of high build. The shell is now ready to be blocked down. We're having a brand new booth installed next month with underfloor extraction so we've been waiting for that before painting it. In the mean time I've used raptor on the panel behind the rear bumper and blasted and painted the rear crash bar
  8. I have a NA exhaust manifold for sale? Stainless 6 branch. Was on my supra for over 6 years with no issues
  9. Got my bonnet mostly finished yesterday. Its a long process painting everything the way we're doing it but it'll be worth it. Basically we're lacquering everything twice. So we apply the base coat, allow that to dry before applying 2 good coats of lacquer. Then let that completely cure over night before flatting it all back down with 1500 wet and then applying another 2 coats of lacquer. Its means once its all dry there's 4 layers of lacquer to work with when it comes to flatting and polishing so every little blemish (silicone, spot of dirt etc) can be completely flatted out before its final polish giving a flawless finish. Long winded mind you! Still a bit more polishing left to do but its going to look incredible. i also got my SRD under trays re fitted and took the door down to bare metal to get rid of one or two tiny spots of rust that started to creep through. (Dont mind the dark spots, they're not dents, just left over bits of black paint - the photo makes it look like its dented to hell but fortunately its perfectly straight)
  10. Its just regular solvent based paint with a 2k lacquer. Honestly the heat shields are never going to get that hot. The only one that might be affected is the one on the firewall near the downpipe but even then I'd be surprised if the heat actually caused the paint to flake. High temperature paint is for components that might exceed like 150°C for prolonged amounts of time. People paint their cam covers in regular 2k paints and i can guarantee they get hotter than the heat shields will
  11. Radium fuel pump hanger arrived today. Really nice piece
  12. Thanks mate. Spectral is just a brand. Its got a really nice depth to it and sprays really well too
  13. Been pretty slow progress lately. Was hoping the car would be pretty much painted by now but with work being so busy and having a few members of staff off sick its ment the supra has just been collecting dust in the corner. I did spend a few hours on it this afternoon though, got the exhaust heat shields blasted and painted and also painted one of the wings. To anyone looking at getting their car resprayed, i highly recommend specifying Spectral lacquer. It is more money but its 100% worth it.
  14. Cleaned up my crash bar today and made some brackets to mount my intercooler. I always see people making really ropey mounts for there intercoolers! Pretty pleased with how these came out though!
  15. Lonnngggg way from those days mate!! Ha! Literally makes me cringe just thinking about it
  16. Got a few bits bolted up this evening.. Mocal power steering cooler, PHR power steering reservoir and a carbon ARP cooling panel. Just need to plumb the power steering up next.
  17. Next up was to start wiring.. now this is where i get a bit out of my depth. I had a non vvti gte engine loom which i obviously wanted to use on a vvti engine. I also have brand new oem non vvti coil packs. I sent my loom off to Phoenix engine management and they adapted it to suit the vvti engine and also replaced any broken clips and plugs. I just wish I'd asked them to label everything because i haven't got a clue I had to swap over the plastic loom guide piece that goes at the front of the cam covers as this is different between non vvti and vvti for obvious reasons. Fortunately I'd kept the original aristo loom. I found which plugs were for the coil packs and which part of the loom goes down to feed the alternator and power steering rack etc then on the intake side i removed the manifold to give me better access. Im fairly confident though that I've got loads of plugs that are actually redundant though since I've gone standalone ecu with an aftermarket intake manifold so i think im going to leave the rest of the engine loom for when it goes to SRD. I moved onto the bay loom as i actually know what im doing with that! I've removed it from the bay and tucked it inside the wheel arches behind the arch liners. You can retain pretty much all the factory clips and locate them in un used factory fixing holes - almost like Toyota designed it that way other than having to extend a few of the plugs. On the drivers side i had to extend the wiper motor and brake fluid level plugs. I used these 2 in 1 heat shrink/solder sleeves which always work perfectly for me. Then just wrapped it up with proper fabric loom tape. Any nearby edges got covered in that rubber edging trim.
  18. Big day today!! So firstly i got the new oem flywheel fitted with ARP bolts and a new Spec stage 3+ clutch and slave cylinder I then got the R154 mounted with a new starter motor.. then got it all mounted in the car! my mate had the job of making sure we didn't damage the paint. Poor lad isn't very strong and the only way he could push the gearbox into the tunnel was to sit on it
  19. Got back off Holiday a few days ago and now have my R154 back from Garage D. They gave it a clean bill of health, all the synchros and gears are 100% They stripped and cleaned it and I had the thrust washer and shift forks replaced with Marlin crawler upgrades and also had the shifter housing extended to suit a mk4.
  20. Today i got last nights paint polished up - the paint finish straight out the gun was really clean so i only grazed over it with a 3000 grit trizact pad - no need for anything harsher before going over it with 3M fast cut polish. I then did some reflective heat tape in the necessary places before refitting the abs pump, clutch master cylinder and all the brake lines. My gearbox is still with Garage D at the minute but as soon as thats back I'll be dropping the engine in!!
