I certainly bought it with my heart! I had my 106 off the road for over a year while building it, had it on the road for a couple of months and loved it... then sold it in a heart beat! I had seen previous pictures of the car in its heyday and it looked fantastic, i originally intended to make it look the same as it used to, with a rear diffuser, oem skirts and spats and the dmm lip.. however i didn't want people to look at it and say "oh thats spencers old car" i didn't want the car to be known for that, i want people to know it for being mine and decided to put my own stamp on it. So first things first was just to tidy it up, sort out missing parts of interior and get some skirts and spats. i went for some (do luck i think?) replica skirts which i won for £25 on ebay surprisingly and some oem spats. This was my 106, and the supra the day it arrived!

Think I will carry this on using my laptop. Its a pain in the arse doing it on my phone

Ok so I have decided to start a quick progress thread of my supra First abit about me, im Harley (hi guys ) im 23 and from stamford. I have always wanted a supra, probably after watching the first fast and furious and just before xmas 2014 I finally bought one. I purchased it from spencer on here, who purchased it from skippyboyo1 so it has a nice bit of forum history. I didnt intend to buy one so soon, I had just finished building my 106 gti to exactly how I wanted it when this came up for sale. It needed abit of love but I saw the potential and frantically scraped together £2300 to buy it. I work in a bar part time so money is tight. I had to borrow the money from my girlfriend lol until I sold my 106 which id just spent 6k on then sold for 2k! The car is a jspec na 5 speed in 202 black. There was alot of interest and I actually ended up buying the car without even viewing it and paid to get it transported to my house. But when the day came and I saw it on the back of the truck I was instantly in love.

I had it done by a lad near me cheaply. (Says it all really doesnt it) He said he still needs to flat and polish it yet but is that going to make much of a difference?

My spats looks dark grey. Not black atall. Particularly in direct sunlight!

I have had some spats and skirts sprayed and they look lighter than the rest of the car. My sprayer has said it might be down to there being more than one shade of 202?

I currently have a set of rota torques, im not to sure on the size of them other than they are 18", they came with the car. Eventually I will buy a nice set of dished wheels but for now im making do with what iv got. Moneys tight, being 23, full time at college and working in a bar as often as possible just to keep my head above water. My family and friends think I have a screw loose owning a supra. Every month my Wages go in, hour later wages go out lol

Lewis is your supra a tt or na? I have an na 5 speed and going down the stanced route. I understand/and wouldnt stance a tt because you have the power and potential to be a very fast road car. But In my case, although not being as slow as 1.2 polo or the likes, an na is no crowd puller by the looks of its engine so why not go abit mad with the stance. At the end of the day your not aiming for lap times or 10 second 1/4 miles because 200bhp simply isnt very much in such a large car and unless your willing to spend 3k+ boosting it why not spend sub 1k on making it look cool (I say that loosely as im well aware some people think it looks sh!t)

I have front and rear seatbelts that I recently purchased but the front seats dont have the buckles fitted to them. Im yet to ask but I shouldnt imagine anyone willing to sell them separately from the seats. I heard briefly that maybe celica seatbelts are the same size? Anyone know whether a supra seatbelt would fit a celica buckle and if so what year/mk celica

I am a fully paid up member and I promise not to just hit and run lol. I did wonder whether you would accept as obviously im pretty unknown at present. Thank you for the info, the car is coming along nicely. Mostly been paying attention to the interior but now thats almost done im replacing the oem spats and have some doluck rep skirts. Not sure if I like them or not yet but threw a £25 bid on them on ebay and won them lol so I will give them a shot. BC coilovers next month, then once everything starts coming together I will start a build thread

Hello guys, I own skippys / spencers old car. Black na 5 speed from this forum. I know that skippyboyo1 had the car resprayed a couple years back but does anyone know whether he had it sprayed in the original 202? I dropped off some new rear spats and skirts at the bodyshop today and told them 202 but on the way home it suddenly dawned on me that it might have been resprayed in a different shade of black. I have tried to pm skippyboyo1 but it doesnt give me the option for some reason?

Im currently in the process of face lifting my UKs so have the best of both worlds. Black inserts and glass lenses

I have a strange knocking sound coming from what I think is the engine bay, drivers side. Its odd because it only occurs after 55mph and isnt rev dependant? It also isnt constant, sometimes it will be knocking every second, but sometimes it will be knocking every few seconds or sometimes not atall. I cant for the life of me think what It can be. Iv had a brief look and cant see anything suspect. Just wondered on the off chance if anyone had had this before. It actually sounds asif a plug is unplugged and is swinging occasionally hitting my wing. (Iv checked and it isnt this) Any help much appreciated

Has anyone heard of or used future motorsport in Leicester? They sell some very tempting single turbo kits using precision turbos and at a fraction over £2k that seems like a pretty good price!

Awesome read. I think red supras can very easily be ruined and only look good when they are stock body. Abit of stance and some attractive wheels and they look the nuts though. I think yours will hit the nail on the head.

Ok so I purchased my first supra afew weeks back. Skippyboyo1/spencers old car. Black na manual. The car is in fantastic condition and is a real credit to skippyboyo1. In his ownership it had stock front bumper with an extended lip, oem skirts and spats and a rear diffuser. The car looked really good but I would like to put my own stamp on it. I have decided to also go with oem spats and rear diffuser but use ridox skirts and a new front bumper, I just cant decide which one, originally I liked the doluck bumper but then doubted myself and decided on ridox, now iv spotted the top secret (type 3 I think) and like that too. I keep finding though that in some pictures I see the bumper looks awesome, and in other pictures it will look terrible and im finding that with all the bumpers iv mentioned not just the top secret. has anyone got honest pictures of their car with either of these bumpers on. Particularly the top secret. Thanks Harley
