It looks absolutely incredible! Hopefully I'll get to see it in the flesh one day!

Just a heads up with the glass.. (because i had a nightmare) Both screens require the seals to be fitted to the glass first. My windscreen guy was adamant that the rear screen had to be fitted first before the seal went on. He literally fitted the screen and left - leaving me to do the seal. A few backwards and forwards messages later of me saying im pretty sure the seal had to go on first and him getting pissed off because "what do i know?!" He finally agreed to come back a week later.. at which point he realised i was right and was rather apologetic. Annoying because it was a freshly painted boot lid and the rear screens are discontinued so removing it again ment risk to the fresh paint and also the risk of breaking the screen during removal. Fortunately no damage was done though and the screen was re fitted with the seal attached! Also, the front screen has to be seated quite firmly, the seal itself needs to be recessed passed the edge of the roof. Mine doesn't, meaning the seal keeps popping out in a couple of places! So again now my front windscreen also has to be removed for a 2nd time and re fitted again but seated further into the recess

Another new chapter and some big changes on the way. V160, B03B, driveshafts, propshaft, all associated bolts which have been zinc plated and a new oem 6 speed gear knob. All on a pallet and being shipped over! Also, a spec 3+ clutch, spec solid flywheel, V160 oil and a new under bonnet insulation all ordered from Whifbitz. Thanks again to Paul for sorting me out with a really good price on these parts -
Yeah it is the same car (recognised the black TS bonnet and lower lip).. although it appears the guy i have on FB has since also sold it
-
I recognise that car (i think) think someone on my facebook owns it. I'll check

I have a few plans for it this year. First of all i need to do something with the R154. Its not done badly considering its been holding 666whp on drag radials but realistically its only a matter of time before it throws the towel in and it would be annoying if it did suddenly chew 3rd gear up (as they are known for on high HP cars) as in good working order R154s hold a decent bit of value. So better to sell it now before it ultimately ends up being worth scrap. R154 and propshaft removed.. and later i also removed the A02B and shafts.. all sold. before actually letting the R154 go i took it to a local transmission shop for a strip down and inspection.. didn't want to sell it to another member if it was damaged and it had been whining a bit.. not to mention the metallic oil i drained from it! After a strip down it became clear what the issue with it was.. the MC billet shift fork had been rubbing against the gear set so now i have to figure out the best solution for this. Fortunately however the rest of the internals are fine! All being well, i should have a V160, B03B, prop and shafts in 3 weeks! Definitely cheaper options out there, and i did strongly consider a GS6 or 420g bmw box but its just not the same as a proper V160 is it and this is a car for life for me. -

Few small updates with the Supra, since 'mostly' finishing it last year (they're never finished) I thoroughly enjoyed driving it during the summer and attended a couple of shows in it.. most noticeable being Japanese Performance show where it won best Toyota -
That is definitely on the cards.. but i wondered if anyone else had one maybe slightly cheaper first. Pauls are great and refurbished etc, but if i could get a good used one a bit cheaper, it would leave some money left over for a clutch or OS giken diff etc

Big Supes' UK-Spec - The Story So Far

Ah i see. Im using your build and in particular your drivetrain components for inspiration on my build! When i said that a big case diff probably wouldn't cost much less than a Ford 8.8 i ment that the sale of your big case would probably pay for an 8.8 -

In todays market i cant imagine an oem big case diff costing much less than a ford 8.8 anyway? Also.. why an 8.8 and not a 9"? - i dont know the difference between either, always see the Americans talking about these ford 9"s but not so much the 8.8? -

On Saturday i took the Supra into work to put it on the ramp and give it a good check over and double check everything was still tight as I've now done probably 300 or so miles since collecting it from SRD - its been driving perfectly but figured I'd just do a bolt check for piece of mind since I've been doing a fair few hard pulls in it (thoroughly enjoying myself) As expected everything was as it should be and i marked everything as i went along - although i did notice the nsr tyre has been rubbing against the handbrake cable and so i made a small adjustment there by pulling the cable back towards the centre of the car before it got any worse. While going through all the various nuts and bolts i noticed a single drop of oil on the sump plug.. figured it just needed a little nip up and all would be good Put my ratchet against it and initially it did appear to tighten for like a quarter of a turn but then it went loose... fcuk! It was a cheap china alloy sump plug so i darted to the nearest parts store to buy a replacement while simultaneously praying it was just the plug that had stripped.. not the sump! Fortunately that was the case and this time i bought a quality steel sump plug - never buying an ebay one again! I also allowed all the oil to drain and replenished with Castrol edge 10w 60. Millers would have been my preferred choice as recommended by Lee but my options were limited at 5pm on a Saturday afternoon and i didn't fancy putting the original oil back in incase there were any pieces of stripped thread in it. -

Thanks Burna! I'll take a look! Although tbh im currently running one oem leather on the passenger side and a Recaro on the drivers side and oddly quite like the combo?! -
Love that! Really cool. I just read through this blog - we both bought our black na 5 speeds in 2014

Went to fit my oem leather front seats today. My car never had electric adjustable seats and so i knew I'd have to make a small loom. I removed the Recaro's, cleaned up the carpet and gave it another good coat of dye. I also needed to adjust the carpet position because it wasn't sitting correctly along the edges. i cut the plug off the bottom of the drivers seat because i didn't have the other side of it.. i then made my own plugs then got it into the car only to discover the worm gear that moves the seat backwards and forwards with completely shredded! So the Recaro's will be going back in again tomorrow while i fix the oem drivers seat! Nightmare.. Also if anyone is contemplating dying their carpet then this is the stuff to use.. -

I think I saw your car at SRD last week when i picked mine up. Ash and Mike said your T56 was very nice to shift! Which makes me think that might be the best way to go with mine! Sounds savage on the dyno with the quick gear changes!! Who did you purchase the T56 through? Grannas direct? -

Started doing a couple of small bits of tidying up this evening. Flatting and polished the near side wing - still need to do the whole near side but started on the wing. also got the centres and edges of the front discs rubbed down and painted as they had started to rust as they were bare metal. These Brembos are very good! The more confident im getting with the car the more im getting on the brakes Mike and Ash at SRD did mention that it was difficult to get from 2nd into 3rd quickly at high rpm and at first i didn't understand what they ment because i wasn't experiencing it... but that was because i wasn't pushing the car hard enough and was short shifting at 5k rpm. Now I've got slightly more confident with the car and am taking it right round to red line i see what they mean - i might remove the short shifter and see if that helps as its very frustrating hitting the limiter in 2nd then trying to get it into 3rd only to find it refusing to go and having to double clutch before it'll go in -
