  1. Cleaned up the driveshafts last night, used our aqua blaster which always does a good job of things like this. Used it on a very low pressure mind you and aimed it in the opposite direction of where the CV boots seal! This evening I'll use some Por15 metal etch on them and them paint them. Should look nice and new then
  2. Ok thats good to hear! I haven't fitted mine yet, it was just my expectation that the flywheel would be noisy with it not being a dual mass. Should have mine fitted at the weekend. Its all brand new, i have a stage 3+ clutch so I'll let you know what thats like!
  3. Hey Peter, i had another read through this last night and noticed I've bought the same flywheel and clutch (i think) as what you have. How do you find it? Especially the flywheel.. is it super noisy?
  4. Probably not exactly what you had in mind to the beginning of Supra ownership! But i should imagine a lot of Supras suffer with this sort of wiring.. i removed a lot of similar wiring and connectors from my dash loom too. Post some photos of the car so we can all see your new purchase!
  5. Got the spoiler painted today at last. Forgot to take a photo of it once it was finished though.. also had a TRS steering wheel cover arrive and some ARP wheel studs as one of my rear wheel studs sheared off and i hadn't even been driving the car particularly hard. I did some research on these beforehand though and discovered that they are actually for a lexus IS300. They do fit Supra but the initial part of the stud where it presses into the hub needs to be shaved done a touch.. theres a very useful thread on here that i followed. I put a drill in a vice with a cable tie around the trigger, put the stud in the drill and using a mini belt sander shaved off the bit that was necessary. Worked perfectly. Did all 10 studs in about 5 minutes.
  6. Haha! Hey bro! Nah im sending this once its built again! Didn't launch it once last yeah because i was scared of breaking the R154.
  7. As Cillian has said, arp headstuds would be a good upgrade whilst the engine is apart. Although with that being said, i know years ago arp had a bit of an issue with their headstud washers. They were manufactured a bit too small and so people used to bin them and use the oem washers with the arp studs. That was years ago though and I'd assume that problem has since been rectified
  8. Another day of new parts.. Flywheel, clutch, V160 oil, spoiler grommets, clutch master cylinder and under bonnet insulation all arrived from Whifbitz today. reallllyyyy want to get back out in this again now! Just want to get everything bed in nicely and then launch the shit out of it!
  9. Finally got my oem spoiler painted today, one of my guys at work owed me a favour so i said he could paint the spoiler for me as payment.. 3 months of pestering him to do it and he finally did it today. I waited around for it to dry this evening only to discover the paint had reacted and blistered a long the bottom. Not pleased.. so i think I'll likely just do it myself now. Tbh i dont really know why I've waited so long for him to do. Should have just done it myself weeks ago. whilst i was waiting for the spoiler to be painted and then dry, i polished up my HKS Ti exhaust which came up nicely, i then tried my hand at colouring the tip which turned out pretty good. Took me a couple of attempts, each time you have to polish off the colour before starting again. The very back of the back box doesn't look very good so I'll get rid of that tomorrow, But im pleased with the tip! Not to everyones taste im sure, but i have big titanium plans for my engine bay!
  10. Also i would assume since 2006 there may well be better brands/alternatives
  11. Just wondering what diff oil is recommended for a B03B. I've done a search already and found a post from years ago with different oil recommendations for the engine/gearbox/diff etc but for the diff it just says LSD 75/90. It doesn't specify big or small case.. my assumption would be that its the same for both but i just want to clarify that before filling it up and running it!
  12. 8HP is definitely faster, all the dyno videos I've seen with 8HP boxes just look insane, doesn't drop boost between gears etc. But yeah i just wanted to keep it Toyota and keep the clutch pedal!
  13. I dont blame you. I recently sold my R154 for the same reasons. Bought a V160 though
  14. If you go down the R154 route make sure you buy the later model remote shifter variant. You can still buy them brand new in fact which would also be preferable. You mentioned about buying an 'upgraded one'... by which i assume you mean the Marlin Crawler thrust washer and shift forks? My advice would be to steer clear. The thrust washer yeah ok, but the billet shift forks are crap! Definitely not an upgrade, i had mine built with these components and the 3rd/4th shift fork failed after about 500 miles and started grinding against the outer sleave. I looked online and im not the only one to suffer this either. I've now replaced it with a new oem fork.
  15. Took my Diff into work today to give it a good clean up. Wire wheeled and acid washed the rear cover and painted the main casing. Also drained the oil out of it as both the diff and the gearbox still have oil in them as they were never drained before shipping. Pretty glad about that tbh as it meant i could see the condition of the oil which was nice and clear with no unwanted debris.
  16. Cant wait to see this finished. Think its going to easily be one of my favourites! What do you intend to use it for? Just regular fast road weekend stuff? Or track?
  17. What happened to this car? Do you still have it?
  18. Took the v160 into work today and gave it a good clean with a wire brush and some aluminium acid cleaner.. didn't quite come up like new but certainly much better now 30 years worth of road grime and grease has been removed. My SRD single piece prop and Oem slave cylinder arrived today too.
  19. Picked the R154 up this morning after having it repaired and rebuilt again, thats now sold a long with the A02B, prop and shafts. Nice selection of drive train parts i currently have sitting in my garage though! I got the new shifter installed on the V160 and gave it all a bit of a clean, I'll take it into work tomorrow and clean it more thoroughly. I have some aluminium acid cleaner which i think will almost bring it up like new.
