Im looking for abit of advice regarding my brakes please. Namely what is the value of a set of rebuilt UK front calipers? Last year i bought these and rebuilt them myself, i stripped them and had them shot blasted before rebuilding them with Chris Wilson stainless pistons, oem seal/boot kit including the tiny seal that goes between the two halves of the caliper, new oem pins and pad retainers and them hammerited them gold with new stickers. Pads are blueprint Discs are drilled M-tec Only seen about 1000 miles. I have been eyeing up a set of K sports as a replacement and would also like to know how they would compare? How much more stopping power am i going to get? Is it a night and day difference? Rebuilding the UKs was pretty bloody costly in the end (almost the cost of a set of K sports) and so i dont want to just throw money away.

Thats not normal. I would take it somewhere else for a 2nd opinion. Have you checked yourself?

Yeah i clay mine every 6 months or so. I use a Meguiars mt320 machine polisher with the yellow 6" pad and Meguiars ultimate compound, then il use another yellow pad with Meguiars ultimate polish followed by the black pad and either ultimate liquid wax or the gold class carnauba wax. After that i sometimes then apply swissvax best of show wax by hand.

A good couple of days carefully going over it with a machine polisher using multiple stages would most definitely see it looking 100x better. 202 is very very soft which means it marks easily but on the flip side it also means its relatively easy buff up. I am extremely picky with mine and how i wash/polish/wax it. I use Meguiars products primarily.

21k probably would get a single 6 speed but theres not exactly an abundance of them. Is the OP aware that they dont come single from factory?

I would be very interested in buying it! My open diff is in dyer need of replacement!

Brand new meisterR CRDs last year. Only covered maybe a couple K miles. It doesnt knock over bumps, only when you first press the accelerator, and then again when you let off

I think you guys are probably right. The diff bushes were replaced last year with superpro bushes however the ear mounts are shit. They are just little packers designed to sit inside the oem bush to aid stiffening it and i didnt think they actually fit that well. Im going to remove them on Saturday and see if that cures it. I also need to have a look at the diff backlash and see if thats excessive

Sounds like its coming from right at the back. Dont think itll be the exhaust hitting the prop as there is plenty of clearance

Yeah XXR521s which i have then had powder coated piano black gloss and fitted gold rivets. 10j rears, 8.5j fronts, fronts are et25 with a 15mm spacer and yeah they easily clear UKs. Rears are also et25 but tbh i am finding them too aggressive and i will soon buy some et35 rears

Yeah 100% 10j Tyres are 295 30 18 I would say it is most certainly the maximum though, i did once fit a 305 30 to a 10j and that bulged over the edge of the rim abit

I know exactly what you mean Ric but its not the wheel studs rattling around in the disc holes.. the disc and all is moving together with the wheel. If i apply the foot brake everything locks up solid, it wouldnt do that if the wheel was loose

Haha thank you.. they are only tarted up XXRs though. Nothing fancy. Infact i think the tyres actually retail more than the rims!

It makes exactly the noise i would expect a prop/diff knock to make and does it at exactly the time force would be applied to both. I just dont know how to check them?
