  1. Thats going to look really good once its done! Renult seem to have alot of nice colours out at the minute!
  2. I use swissvax best of show. It is expensive considering the tiny amount you actually get but it is nice stuff. It buffs off really easily, even on a black car, and leaves no greasy residue which i have found with some cheaper waxes. I dont use it as an everyday wax simply due to the price and because its not very durable. Its a show wax, not a protective/sealing wax. My day to day wax is Meguiars. They have recently introduced a nice hard wax into there ultimate range which is very good! Previously they only had a liquid synthetic wax in their ultimate range or a hard wax in their gold class range.
  3. For a second.. and i mean a second, i thought you were being serious.
  4. I would ideally need them posting too (extra of course)
  5. Well if your happy with that then let me know and il paypal you some money over. You'll sell a pair of UK fronts in that condition for £600 easily
  6. Ok. Well if anyone reading wants just the fronts, id be prepared to pay £350 for the rears
  7. I know.. and i want them! Along with afew other bits you have if you break your subfame for parts!
  8. Today i welded the new nuts into postion. I bolted them on first to secure them in exactly the right place then welded them.. my welding isnt an art form yet so i then grinded it down and smoothed it over
  9. Those who have done a subframe may have encountered this too... No matter how nasty the rest of it is the lugs under the rear mounts remain perfect, as if still new. Both my subframes have been like this and i find it pretty amazing. Im going to have to buy a reciprocating saw to cut the arms off as they are typically seized solid. You can do it with an angle grinder but its safer to do it with a saw, far less chance of catching the subframe. While im waiting for that to arrive i have started on the rear mounts. It took 20 tonnes of pressure to finally press the old bushes out! Chances are if you're doing this you'll shear off the bolts that hold the anti roll bar brackets onto these mounts. One side was fine but the other side had both sheared off The captive nuts are tack welded on and personally i think its best to knock them off and start fresh with new regardless of whether you get the bolts out or not (unless your subframe is absolutely mint)
  10. I might be mad here but i bought another sunframe to refurbish! I have already done this once and hated every second of it so naturally thought fuck it lets do it again. Basically i didnt document it very well the first time and also after having it shot blasted and zinc primed i then caked it in underseal.. dont get me wrong it will certainly last eternity, but it doesnt look as pretty as it perhaps would have done if id have powder coated it. So thats what i intend to do to this one. I also bought a van! Because everyone should have a van. My 'supra parts transportation wagon'
  11. Thanks guys, i have done a couple of calculations and i think the 235s will be best for me. Otherwise the sidewall will look out of proportion with the rear tyre sidewall. Thanks for the advice and pictures!
  12. I have 295 30 18 AD08Rs on the back of my NA and i havnt managed to get it sideways since, which is staggering because im packing a whole 220bhp!
  13. Hudson speed shop is in March Keith. Literally just down the road from you
  14. Shes a show car through and through! you kept her in fantastic condition throughout your ownership and attended many shows and events and i intend to do the same! Afterall she is very pretty..
  15. Thanks guys, much appreciated. The only downside to theses shows for me is that my bonnet does stay firmly shut! And with such a high number of other supras all with spectacular engine bays it does frustrate me.. (maybe frustrate isnt the correct word?) But you get what i mean.. im getting impatient! I keep telling people 'yeah im getting there' But im really not! Its sooo expensive to do it 'right' and give the car what it deserves. I will do it though. Regarding the wheels Josh, its funny actually, when i sold the old Rotas in favour of the XXRs everyone said i was mad and that the rotas were far nicer... then when i suggested powder coating them all black everyone objected again. But now I've done it everyone loves them! So much so that as soon as i mentioned i had new wheels about 10 people PMd me instantly and 2 minutes later they were sold! I have some plans for the BBSs so we'll see what people think once they're done.
  16. Japanese performance show. I had an absolutely brilliant day, caught up with loads of people and quite literally just spent the whole day chatting. I was really pleased with my spot in the exhibition hall and the car really did look nice. I wouldnt usually blow my own trumpet (so to speak ) but it was absolutely gleaming and i think the effort i have put into this car really shon through. I had various people come up to me and compliment it and the whole day was really enjoyable.
  17. There are 4 'categories' D - repairable without exceeding the value of the car. C - repairable but will exceed the value of the car B - non repairable (legally) but is eligible to be broken for spares A - non repairable, not eligible to be broken for spares and must be crushed.
  18. Cat D isnt that bad, not enough to halve the value. Cat D is essentially just very light cosmetic damage whereby the cost to repair doesnt equate to anywhere near the value of the vehicle.
  19. Looking for pictures of each preferably. I will be buying new Yokohama ADO8Rs for the front of my new wheels. The fronts are 9j and im not sure whether to go for 235 or 245 40s. I dont want them bulging over the sides, ideally i want them perfectly flat with the rim/tiny tiny bit of stretch. I also dont want the profile to look out of proportion with my 295 30 rears. Any help would be good
  20. I have been looking online today at various pictures and colour schemes and tbh i think they look the best in a nice oem light silver with red BBS accents - quite motorsport orientated. So i think thats what im going to do. I have ordered red centre caps and rim decals.. the more i look at them the more i like them. Cant wait to have them fitted
  21. 6k probably Maybe 7k to the right buyer if you tarted it up abit (machine polish and interior deep clean etc)
  22. Theyll be either original silver, or gloss black. Im undecided at the minute
