  1. Just need to get it in the car now! Still have stuff i need to do and buy first though.
  2. Although admittedly it was a proper nightmare [emoji23] Put a huge hole in the bloody decking which im going to have to repair! Lol
  3. Well thank you none the less. I know what to look for now.
  4. Thank you Frank, you're clearly more clued up on this than me! I'll be using the non vvti intake/throttle body. Thanks you for your help. Just need to find a complete intake now!
  5. Ah ok thanks Frank, its the throttle body that is my biggest concern really. The aristo throttle body uses an electric throttle control/butterfly whereas the supra throttle body uses a fly by wire
  6. Looking for a stock gte intake with throttle body and sensors
  7. Bloody hell Jake your always 1 step a head of me!! [emoji23]
  8. Love this car. +1 for facelift front lights though!
  9. Thanks guys, yeah its frustrating but out of my control so no point getting wound up - although i was pissed on Saturday! Anyway, tomorrows the day! I have changed my shift around at work and worked my lunch break today to give me an extra hour to get home well before 5pm. If it doesn't turn up tomorow people will die.
  10. I have spoken with JDM Garage this morning and they have been very apologetic. It seems the fault lies with the pallet company though, and as a result they are doing a special delivery for me tomorrow evening. The delivery fee has also been refunded to me. All going well i should have the engine tomorrow evening now.
  11. One of my concerns now is.. i have paid them quite alot of money for an engine. I dont know where it is and they dont know where it is. But somewhere in the country is my engine, in the possession of someone i dont know.. and subsequently dont trust, and they are going to have my engine now until Monday at the very earliest!
  12. Great lol! Fortunately i specified i didnt want the Ecu, just the engine and loom with all ancillaries execpt the turbos. If they mess me about il simply cancel the order and buy elsewhere.
  13. Oh i will do! Although im still going to have to get it delivered on a Saturday because its the only time im free without booking a day off work. If I'd have booked a day off work and it hadnt shown up I'd have cancelled the order and bought another engine elsewhere. Things like this really wind me up - even more so when its something as a expensive as this
  14. Pissed off today! Got up and ready at 8am for this engine to be delivered, waited all week for this and paid an additional £43 for Saturday delivery and it hasnt shown up! Rang JDM Garage and the guy quite simply said he didnt know why it hadn't arrived and that "he doesnt deal with that side of the business" was put on hold while he contacted the delivery firm to then be told there office isn't open on a Saturday and i should wait till Monday! Mondays no fucking good hence why i paid extra for it to be delivered today!! Then when i told him that i had specifically paid for a Saturday slot i was told again that he didnt deal in that side of the business. So if you dont deal with deliveries and dont deal with finances - what do you deal in? and why are you answering the phone?! Anyway, not a good start with JDM Garage.
  15. Lol i am slightly worried about damaging my flooring. I only had it done last year. Just been to my parents house and got loads of big bits of ply board to lay down while i wheel the engine crane through the house lol! The engine crane itself weighs about 60kgs.
  16. Im going to put the engine stand on wooden spreader boards to distribute the weight out mate.
  17. My engine gets delivered tomorrow and im pretty excited about it too! The misses has even agreed to let me keep it in the living room [emoji16] so i have set up the engine stand next to the TV and bought down some of my single turbo kit which i was keeping in the bedroom [emoji23]
  18. I hope so. I think it will aid the appreciation value too
  19. I have made some pretty drastic changes over the past few days relating to the planned build. If you have kept up with my build you'd have read that my spec was going to be a built gte non vvti head on a forged ge block - then mated to an R154 transmission. After some consideration i have decided to go for a full gte vvti engine instead. Various factors have lead to this but primarily its because: 1) It will get the car finished quicker. I had the built gte head but i was miles off finishing a forged block + all the ancillaries. 2) I dont want the car to be seen as a 'Frankenstein' car - what with it having a gte head, ge block and mk3 supra R154 trans thats 3 major components from 3 different models of car and i would rather the car remain as 'pure' as possible while still achieving what i want to achieve. 3) The 2jzgte vvti engine is just a better platform to build on. I have purchased a TOMS edition aristo engine from JDM garage. It is complete with all ancillaries including the loom, the only thing missing are the turbos - which benefited me as il be throwing my single turbo kit on anyway. The engine has also just had a new headgasket, timing belt kit and valves re lapped all done in house at JDM garage. I also already have a complete rear sump kit and a complete gte engine loom (non vvti but apparently its not overly difficult to alter to work with vvti)
  20. How much for the mechanical to electric speedo converter posted within the Uk?
  21. Today i finished tinkering with the gearboxes and i now have 1 good R154 ready to go straight into a mk4 supra with the exception of the extended shifter housing. I swapped over the bellhousings, rear casings and crossmember mount and the prop collar at the very back of the trans. I also fitted an inspection cover that i picked up off ebay for a tenner! Still missing one though so if anyone has the other side cover laying around let me know. In the process of swapping over the rear casings i did have a butt clenching moment when i heard a *ting* and a ball bearing fell out of somewhere and ended up rolling across my work bench as i separated the box. After not being able to see where it came from and cursing myself for doing something that i wasnt overly experienced in i decided to call my mate who builds gearboxes for a living.. then i decided to save myself the embarrassment and just have a quick check on google first... surprisingly and rather fortunately it was very common for this bearing to come out while splitting the casing on an R154 and so after reading afew posts on various threads across the tinterweb i was able to relocate it back to where it belongs. It sits under a small spring which pushes it down into grooves on a selector rod to aid shifting i believe. Anyway.. problem solved and box back together and complete.
