WOW!!! so many responses, I'm just over whelmed!

Hi, I've noticed a few times with my jap import supra tt auto that I keep losing power?? Sometimes when I floor it I get a big kick, other times not a lot seems to happen, but I can still hear the first turbo kick in and feel the second kick in at 4k revs. Whats going on? I noticed today that there was lots of power when I booted it from an almost standstill - infact the car shimmied and the back end slipped out for about 3 seconds when I was accelerating, until I bought her back in line again :-) After this I parked for about a minute to pick something up (left the engine running). I went down the same stretch of road and floored it, no wheel spin and a noticable amount of power loss..wierd. Also it doesnt always seem to kick down - what could cause this? Is all of this releated to heat build up? the engine is totally un-modified as yet - could the cats be causing the problem? Cheers, Paul.

Hmm..it is tempting. Depends what I'm racing against. Dont foget my car is only a standard 326 bhp...wouldnt want to embarass my self!(or anyone else) :-)

Oh yeah, it hammered it down from about 8pm til 12ish - so I was stuck in my tent all night - bummer!! Paul.

I was very dissapointed too. I was expecteding lots of supras and a big piss up on Saturday night - got nowt! Also, there was no one there to tell anyone where to go or what to do. I spoke to a few people = suprarob, MCanny and few others. No one seemed to have shown there spec sheets though so I couldnt tell who was who - ah well. Think I need to goto a few smaller meets to get to know people before I do that again. Also, who was the bloke I spoke to Sunday morning about his stereo, I didnt get your name? - Who did you say made the box for your sub??? And who was the chap with the shiny bits and pieces, I liked the look of the Induction pipe but I didnt get a chance to ask him about it. Think I might sell my supra and get another one imported with all kinds of bells and whistles on it for next year, might get noticed then!!! Paul.

I just ordered the hose and grommit. I'm going to try them with the part number tomorrow, see if they go for that. CW had a look and said the valve was OK. Paul.

Hi, Got a small leak from my PCV grommit, so I phoned toyota to see how much a new hose and grommit would be and it works out about 10 quid for both. However, they said it would be a 5 week wait as it's an import. Does anyone know if the UK cars have the same parts? The bloke at toyota said that they were different. I didnt believe him as Toyota franchises dont usually know there arses from there elbows!! lol If they are the same, does anyone fancy donating a UK vin number so I can order the parts? Paul.

Best bet is to give him a ring mate. See what he says. He is definately the man to get the car serviced with though. Never met a fairer or specialised mechanic before - he really knows his stuff. If you goto Chris's, pop in. I'm only 25 mins up the road! Hopefully he will be fitting de-cats, exhaust, boost guage and FCD in the very near future for me!!:flame Dev Paul.

Why was it undriveable?? you could always try not putting your foot on the pedal so hard!! I took my car to Chris Wilsons this weekend for a check over and he gave it an 'OK', so I'm happy everything is as it should be now. Next in the pipeline is a de-cat(both) and exhaust with a FCD. Thats about all I want to do to it really! Oh and isnt manual mode great? Is it me or does the car rev quicker and change quicker too?? muchos funos. Paul.

Cool, looks like your front lip and spoiler is painted?? How much did that cost you? or did you do it yourself, looks much better!

Umm...I think I had to press the 'Auto Off' button. How do you lock it in the down position? is there some mod dor it? I'm glad you mentioned the 'Cleaning' Mode. The spoiler is bloody filthy!! Didnt know that thing was coming down and ruining the look of my nice shiny car!! Gonna get the back to black out tomorrow!!! Paul.

Ok, just tried that and the spoiler dropped as expected! But when I do it this way the spoiler light doesnt flash. Before it was flashing??? wierd! Paul.

Cheers Martin, I hate it when I get a new car and dont know anything about it or it's engine. I was like that with my first MR2, 4 years ago. Hopefully I will come to more of the Supra meets though and absorb some knowledge :-) You lot seem like a better laugh than the MR2 lot too !

Hi, Just went out in my car and I heard a noise after I started her up. I noticed that the auto spoiler light was flashing, so I got out and had a look. sure enough the spoiler was down at the front. Why would it come down when stationary for no apparent reason?? I cant get it to do it again. Any ideas?? Paul.

Hi, What tyre pressures should I be running on my tyres: front 255/40 on 18" rims back 275/35 on 18" rims Cheers.

Is it something i can replace myself easily too?
