1. He’s got a fantastic car and I know he’s just going to improve it.......
2. Car is now SOLD As much as its hard to see it go, its gone to a very good new owner.
3. Its a case of.......... i'm not 100% sure that I really want to sell it:) by far the best car I have ever owned. Its more a decision that most of my mates have now all moved on to ratrods, pickups etc etc I've wanted a yank pickup for a long time and at the moment feel like the time is right...... also i've been 'lucky' with my health (had life changing accident in 2006) and the Supra is great once in it but to be honest I am struggling a little more now getting in and out. The wife and kids all have FB and yes I could get them to put it on..... its actually the wifes EBay account too..lol Like I say, i'm old, knackered and still very attached to the Supra..... I guees if people know of anyone interested then they would point them in the right direction and it helps get people involved in the forum, which I personally feel has been and continues to be a great source of information....
4. Think I’m going to put it on the dreaded eBay tomorrow......
5. Seen a couple of American cars I fancy chasing, so whilst they are still available I’ll drop pice to SOLD no offers though..... sorry
6. This......^^^^ I had to look up Reas system..! Learn something new everyday, would say Keron is spot on...
7. I know you say balance done but, have you done the rears?
8. Initially yes...... new wheels and balance helped. The rear wheels had a slight buckle which at speed could be felt through the steering. The car “tramlined” and seemed a bit “floaty” at high speed. Was very unnerving at high speeds on the run out to Germany and with hard braking the car would not give proper feedback. It’s cost a fair bit to get to the bottom of it but, boy is it a different animal now. It’s so so positive. If your getting vibration at higher speed, I’d go with wheel balance as first port of call.
9. It was this thread http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?47616-Really-Loud-Knocking-noise
10. If feel if anything, doesn’t matter how good or bad the new cars are received it will show exactly how on point they were with the MKIV I sincerely hope that it sets new ground and doesn’t just “fit in”. Anyone remember the anticipated new NSX? I bet not! Still people would want the original.. Either way the MKIV will benefit from a good or bad car and should push residuals even stronger....
11. Not sure what I moved forwards under my passenger seat.... maybe the amp? I took passenger seat out and lifted carpet... moved something (not sure) forward from its position over the box section and that left enough room for the sub to fit.... It’s hidden under carpet and doesn’t make a difference to passenger comfort.. Another option possibly.. in the boot area as you look in on your left. Mine has a cubby in the corner. (Other corner has tool kit) It wouldn’t take too much time to make one of these fit in that area.?
12. I've to the KSC11 underseat....... under the passenger seat...... so if the size hasn't changed much between models then it should fit. Very happy with mine, not massive bass that you'd get from a huge box in the boot but improves the sound very well for what they are.......Good luck with the sale
13. A bit late and answered in the thread previously but, Yes the knock was from the lower arm balljoints. Difference is chalk and cheese...
14. Sorry about that, i'm sure they were working.....? thanks for highlighting the problem... Anyway, pics of suspension in this thread on the forum.... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?345675-Suspension-sorted-and Fantastic set up and cannot recommend the products enough, it was a toss up between Figs and Ikeya. Figs help and support was miles better in choosing the set up I wanted and was more confident in the Superpro option with the Figs items for how I wanted the car to feel. I started out chasing a "knock" from the front end, which many people suffer from, if you read the thread above, you'll see I prety much changed everything to get to the bottom of it....... little things annoy me.
15. Good luck with your hunt. Porker looks a bargain, should sell fairly easily I would have thought. I'd be tempted myself as my mates just brought a 997 turbo s, however I must be one of the few who prefers an auto box....
16. I expect there will be plenty of time to add a few coffers to your purchase fund. I don't expect it to fly out the door being a tiptronic. For some reason people over look them in favour of a manual. Who ever buys it will be very very happy.
17. Edit post as pics not working..... please see link to thread about suspension below.....post No:11
18. Thanks for comments...... Hopefully a few more pics
19. This is by far the best car I have owned. I rate ownership of this car even higher than my 22B impreza, which in itself shows what I feel about this car. I don’t have to sell and to be honest, not 100% sure its the right choice in doing so. Only advertising as I want to tick various other car boxes and continuing ill health means that time is running out. I've owned this car since November 2014 and consider myself to be a mature owner. 20. If your after a decent, cheaper end unit....... have a look at the Kenwood KDC-X7000DAB I have the double din version in the supra and the single din version in the cooper s. Great units and multiple set up options to fit the sound staging to the car.... I managed to get them for £135ish (each) on amazon. Didnt need an all singing and dancing £1000 unit in either car, to be honest don't think spending much more would achieve much over these units. Don't need sat nav, got one and the one on the iphone is great and don't watch dvd's on the move for obvious reasons..lol Have purchased more expensive units in the past and now not really sure its worth the extra expense,,,,,
21. I too had the Bilstein / Eibach setup. Whilst the ride was ok, much prefer the ride and set up options on the HSD Monopro that now replaces them. Maybe its partly down to the age of the OE Bilsteins? Unless your really unhappy with the coilovers, wouldn't bother imho
22. I opted for the HSD monopro, used this thread http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?177168-Suspension-Change-Guide-amp-HSD-HR-Coilovers-Review-(Image-Intensive!) to help make my decision. I had the Bilstein/ Eibach combo and changed to the HSD's and much prefer them (I expect partially down to the age of the old shocks?). Can set them up to ride similar to the old setup or adjust as required. Nice to be able to set them up with a nice feel and still be able to adjust the height.
23. Cheers for the wave. Was nice to see another actually out in the damp weather.... yours looked good also... Was on my way back to Eastbourne from having a breakfast meet up with a few mates at Goodwood.....
