  1. Update on this, just went for a baffle in the end. Really quiet now. Bit tight to get in and out so will try and sand it down a bit. Does the job though
  2. No good point that. I will compare them and see what the actual volume is on each
  3. Thanks mate I better have a look through that thread
  4. Hello mate, do you have a link to the valve you got itself? Or the brand etc?
  5. Will a box affect flow? Even slightly? I’ll have a look at that car
  6. Thanks bud, always the way. If my valve stem seals didn’t need doing I probably wouldn’t have gone single at all lol 0.84ar so one step smaller than the previous 1.0ar on the Borg Warner. The hope is that will come in sooner and continue making power for longer. Will be interesting to see The K Sports and ds2500 are fantastic. No fade on track and not bad on brake dust. Nice firm pedal, no noise. Different league to uk brakes, for the money they are well worth it. Yep 9.1 CR. Makes more difference than I expected so far
  7. Thats good to hear, even on cold start? No potential issues? This could be the answer. Could just get a new rear box made up that takes a baffle.. Does it make a big difference to the noise level? Sounds naughty now but the cold start could wake the dead! f459f28b-a7eb-4752-8fb4-7462b2057918.MP4
  8. Evening guys Thought I would resurrect my old thread as I have recently gone abit crazy on the car. Back in 2019 I went to Japfest Donnington, day was OK but real highlight was taking the car on track for a little session. Awesome fun and realised that my car is not a track car at all LOL, car performed great but felt a bit too heavy for that sort of work, still amazing to see what the car was like on the limit. On the way home I heard a ticking noise from under the bonnet, took it to Darren at Magnum Performance and turned out the manifold gasket had gone. After a bit of "while you're in there" chat we decided to upgrade the top end of the engine. The following setup was installed: CNC race ported head upgraded valves, guides, dual springs GSC 269 billet cams ID1300 injectors SSI inatake manifold Whifbitz 5" intercooler Precision 6870 Gen 2 0.84ar 4" downpipe Flex fuel sensor Twin Walbro fuel pumps Teflon fuel lines Oil cooler ARP Head studs Relocated battery to boot Car fully undersealed Plus lots of other little bits that were needed The idea was to get lower spool than the old Borg, and more top end with a raised rev limit. The hope was around 800fwhp with as big a power band as possible. I took the car to Romain for mapping, and one of the fuel pumps was playing up, so we had to call it a day. Went back to Darren, he fixed the fuel pump and I took the car home. Over the next few days I made the decision to hold off mapping the car. I had everything there for what could be a 1000hp+ car, I just needed the block to handle it. So I discussed with Darren, and looked at some options to build the bottom end. The quotes were quite a lot more expensive than I thought, but I made the decision to do it so put the car away and started saving. In December out came the amazingly presented setup that I had driven less than 100 miles on, and this went in: Brand new 2JZ-GTE block Manley tri meam rods with ARP 625+ bolts Manley turbo tuff pistons with upgraded pins Crank polished and balanced ARP main bolts Titan billet main caps ACL race bearings New oil pump ARP 625+ head studs (replaced the previous ARP head studs) Titan billet cam tensioner Spec stage 3+ clutch Resprayed engine bay satin black Relocated various wiring looms etc to tidy bay up Carbon fan shroud and fuse box cover Rolling anti lag button on steering wheel I think that is about it. Now I have to run the engine in, weather is not helping. The new engine feels amazing, slightly raised compression, really smooth, clutch is a bit tricky but nice and light. I am very happy, just need to get these 1000 miles done and can see the results. Since the last update on this thread I have also changed the tyres to R888Rs and the brakes to K Sports all round (had to wait ages for yellow) with Ferodo DS2500 pads. The other half also got me a cartoon my car done for Xmas I also plan on turning my old block into a coffee table Sorry for the long post but theres been a few changes!
  9. This is an option, do the baffles make a big difference? I am also conscious of back pressure, currently running in a new engine so do not want to cause any problems there. Baffle in for the first part of a journey and pop back in up the road is something i could do if it will not strain the engine at all?
  10. Hi guys Supra now has a 4" downpipe and Whifbitz 4" single box exhaust. I love the sound but I do not think the neighbours do so might go quieter for the first time ever. Is there a 4" exhaust system out there which is a little quieter whilst being as free flowing as the system I have now? Or am I better off getting a silencer installed in my current exhaust? Or are you always going to lose some power with more silencers no matter what? I was exploring getting a valve installed, as I only need to quiet it down for starting in the morning and parking in the garage at night. But good quality valves only seem to go up to 3".... Anyone got a really fast Supra that is not crazy loud?
  11. Hi guys I am after a set of old pistons for a coffee table project. Ge or gte will do, after 4 minimum. Anyone have any laying around? cheers Karl
  12. Hi guys Does anyone have an oem power steering pulley laying around? Cheers Karl
  13. I’ve got one bud if you are still looking message me
  14. Only torqued down once and covered less than 50 miles, perfect working order. Collection from Enfield, North London or I can post to uk for £10 £100 Cheers guys!
  15. Hi guys Bit of a long shot, but does anyone know of a machinable GTE block for sale?
  16. Thanks guys, I’m gonna see how the Spec stage 3+ feels. If I don’t like it I will probably bite the bullet and get the RPS, but the Spec is inexpensive enough to give it a go.
  17. Hi guys Did a search but could not find anything relating to this power level since a post from 2012, so hopefully options have changed since then! Car is a 6 speed V161, not daily driven but definitely a road car. I am not sure what torque I am going to end up with but we are going for circa 1000hp at the flywheel. I was going to go for a Spec stage 3+ which is rated to 855lb/ft. I have a Spec stage 2+ at the moment with a Spec flywheel, so this is a fairly inexpensive option. But will it hold the power? Do I need to spend £2-3k on a clutch? Should I be looking at a multi disc clutch? Someone suggested an RPS triple carbon one to me. At over triple the price of the Spec clutch (with a deal) is this overkill or a necessity? If the Spec will not cut it, are there options in the middle, for £1-2k that are any good? If I change the clutch, can I keep my Spec flywheel? I don't want anything that makes the car unpleasant to drive, and nasty noises do my head in. The Spec is a little grabby but I have got used to it and its fine, as it doesn't make much noise. It took a few hundred miles before reverse was easily engaged, but now its fine. Any advice would be much appreciated. Karl
