Piston usually goes through the block so complete new engine unfortunately. Yeh i do the occasional oil sample, but supposedly even that is not a accurate way of telling. If you warm the car up before you give it the beans you should be okay. Biggest issue is knowing it's previous life before you own it. I'm sure alot of first owners ragged the sh*t out of them as they had warranty. Unfortunately it's later owners that pay the price.

Unfortunately it's just one of those things which has been blown out of proportion. Like anything, if you look after it, it will be fine. Actuators can go but they are a £600 with lifetime warranty. The rod bearings are a £1400 preventative measure but its 50/50 as to whether it is actually worth doing or not. There has not been enough longevity to prove whether changing them is actually a good idea. The sound they make though is incredible - then again, i may be biased

everything was so obviously scripted. It was terrible. They are all just so boring. Grand tour is scripted but at least it's a little less obvious
  6. As per title All fittings etc included S2000 one preferred but not sure what else is available
  7. Looking for headlight inserts, pre facelift or facelift. Condition not important
  8. In the market for good quality reclineable recaro speeds. Can't work out whether Cloth or Leather would be best but would consider either. Must be black
  9. just read the first post about the radio. Can you not just change the language?
  10. may be a stupid question but for full decat do you not use the second part? Or does it not have a cat in it?
  11. I always wanted a semi stock black TT6, was looking since maybe Feb last year with a 30k budget, couldn't find anything. In the end i settled for a almost stock white one with low miles and i'm happy. At the end of the day a supra is going to be a great car to own no matter what the colour is. FYI - I had been watching the japanese auctions every day for months and all the Grade 4 cars which were fairly stock were fetching almost 40k or some even above that (to the UK)
  12. i watched this too - thought they said you can turn off the electronics?? Why would you want to btw? just curious Shared exterior components were the wipers, door handles and wing mirrors supposedly Bit weird how theres nothing to stop all your stuff flying forward out the boot when you brake. More i get involved with it the more i quite like it.
  13. Keron's red one is still available? That's been up for a little while i thought that would have been snapped up
  14. you need 30k + for a half decent TT6. They are even getting as high as 35k right now Please remember these are 25 year old cars and will have the odd issue. It's what you expect when you get into a car like this. I thought 25k was alot of money for a Supra 18 Months ago and i waited. I wish i didn't as i just paid alot more than that for my one from Japan.
  15. i did send him a PM mate but nothing so far - have a feeling that was his last set
  16. will consider an old, discoloured set if anyone has their old ones lying around?
  17. put it in the paypal notes mate - its 1996 but pre vvti
  18. I'll have one - will send payment in a sec
  19. I saw some guy used to sell them but does anyone have a spare set?
  20. Thank you guys - all the odds and sods clips and seals etc, where do i find all the part numbers for these? I was hoping to go BPU quite soon after it arrives but i'd rather make sure car is mechanically sound first
  21. Hi All, So i have my Supra coming over from Japan in March. Things which are being done on arrival is; Oil and Filter Change All necessary conversions Full Cavity underseal and protection. What are other things that i should look to be doing first of all? I'm thinking brake fluid but not sure what else i have read maybe the crank pulley is a good one to do? I did try the search feature but not entirely sure what i should be typing in to find the answer.
  22. whats the difference between the 3 spoke prefacelift and facelift? i thought all 3 spoke were the same? - either way i might be after one if it has airbag
  23. in my opinion when the mkiv first came out they never looked "special" against it's current market - it was only really because of the F&F franchise that they became such a big hit. Then the body kits started rolling out and finding one without a kit on was rare. Obviously now as time has gone on the stock appearance of the mkiv has become favorable and is gorgeous. Stick a few "aftermarket" parts on the new one and it will look fantastic. BMW interior is nice and the B58 is really quick. Toyota never said they were trying to compete with the ferarris and lambos of today it was always suggested their main rival was the Cayman. Toyota was never trying to be something who they weren't back at the launch of the MKIV and they are doing the same with the MKV
