I had another look at the rear seal today before I remove it. And I’m not sure what these are, it honestly looks like a rubber seal rather than sealant

My old man and I import american cars every so often as a hobby so its a small unit that we have. It's really handy having the lift. A two post would be ideal but the ground isn't thick enough for the supports. The flag is hanging portrait thats why it looks wrong . Do love a bit of USA Memorabilia, they are very over the top over there. Thanks mate! Still deciding whether to weld up the rear wiper hole or just use the wiper delete thing.

Thank you mate - i can remove them without any fear now. Appreciate all your help

Yeh.. I’m really not sure. Hopefully someone who has done a full glass out may be able to chime in with wether they kept or removed these, or sprayed over them.

Forgot where I’m up to but here is some progress as of Sunday. ive removed a lot of the misc clips etc. Got my delivery of Ridox skirts and oem Spats delivered from Knight racer. Not the best fit but I’m sure the body shop will be able to sort them no problem. My concern is that they’re a bit thin, so will need bulking out. removed the washer rear washer jet and other connections to the rear hatch. (slicing my finger yet again) The car is booked into the body shop for all the metalwork first on w/c 16th. I had some spare time so thought I’d tackle some of the underside. It’s not too bad but want to make sure anything and everything is dealt with. I ended up using Dinitrol RC900 which is a rust converter and epoxy primer in one. It penetrates 7-10 times deeper than other brands supposedly. I have bought some attachments so I can use these in the cavities too. I brass/wire brushed surface rust and took it back to bare metal in some places just to check the condition. Obviously when the car is back from bodyshop I’ll use a cavity wax in the box sections and probably look to underseal the car. As you can see it’s not too bad but would rather be safe than sorry. Obviously after using a rust converter it can look worse than it is. I'll try get some better pictures once it has dried. I think @m12aak was wondering what I used to dissolve some Of the seals. This works well. Today I received one of my big orders from Amayama, such a great company to deal with. Good prices and very easy. I have also sent off my exhaust shields, fuel tank cover, crash bar, exhaust hanger and rear tow hook for blasting and painting. next update will be after the car is back from Having the metalwork done

good shout - would make sense. Just didn't want to remove it all and then be stuck without a good bond, but also don't really feel its right just spraying right over the top of seals.
-
I guess i'll just scrape it off then and let the window guys re-bond it. It just looks so neat that it looks as if it's a pre-cut kind of seal.
-
Let me know how much you’re looking for mate. I was going to re-use mine but may consider
-
Unless it's the installers sealant, but it just looks too neat to be free hand?

Just a quick question. I've got the glass out of the Supra ready for a respray. I have ordered; Front: 75533-14190 (Front Moulding) 04562-12010 (DAM Kit) Rear: 75573-14210 When the glass was removed, obviously there is a seal that the glass actually sticks too on the front and back. But i can't find a part number for those? Surely people remove these for resprays or do people just leave them in place?

hello mate, just coming round to buy the bits i need for this. So would you just leave the underside with an epoxy primer and not paint over it? if you do paint, do you need to use a specific paint? I was going to waxoyl but my paint guy says the oven will turn it all to goo when he comes to do the paint..

Hi All Just bought a couple tickets for the show this year as it looks pretty good but do we have a club stand or similar for this event? Seems a shame to just park in regular car park

a month to get my proof of no claims too

So that’s the glass out. I noticed I have this strange line where either the dash has warped or the vent has sunk. I can’t work it out. Can I just pull the vent out from the top or is it glued in? Anyone else had this? Maybe some black pen or something may be needed I don’t know. tomorrow I’ll be removing the misc clips etc and clean up some of the underside where the sills will cover then we should be good for paint

Not sure on the maths there as your post at 10:12 and my response at 10:45 isn't quite 6 minutes. But you are correct, i didn't watch the video as it plays no relevance

typical response.. proves my point

spot on. The media has scaremongered and brainwashed the older generation into believing this will save humanity.

yeh i'm not 100% sure i'll spend all day saturday washing for it to be rainy on sunday either. I might pop down and have a look round but not sure it's worth it when its raining. -
Before the car goes into the body shop I thought I might try and sort some of the surface rust under the car. can anyone recommend any products and the process? I was going to use a clear waxoyl that converts the rust too but will that be enough? is it worth then degreasing it, then spraying it with some sort of protection?
