  1. Just a quick one, the j-spec VVTI's are MAF also, not MAP
  2. Fair one, good experience though and that unit is perfect for all the work you're doing. I wanted to keep mine kind of stock but after seeing yours it makes me want a big wing!
  3. Mint progress mate just read through it! Wish I was knowledgeable enough to take an engine apart like! Ive got some stock wheels sitting there too im tempted to stick them back on after just buying some brand new rota's!
  4. Thread revival! I don't suppose there are any more bulb holders kicking about are there? I'm in need of four
  5. I'll take the two scoops mate just pm me price and means to pay
  6. You got 550cc injectors, stock rear black leather seats and two stock airfeeds (under bonnet and under headlight) available?
  7. I've got rota gtr 9.5j et30 fitted on all four corners, bit of a gamble but they fitted, only about 2mm brake clearance on the front like but no rubbing or anything on full lock left and right with 255 tyres, got 265 tyres on the back and they're a perfect fit could even do with spacing out abit. The car is on stock shocks with tein s tech springs but rolling all the arches before fitting coilovers so it can go lower
  8. Thanks mate. I can't wait to get it back and see what it's like without fuel cut. It was peaking at 1.2 just after 4k revs then dropping off but even that felt pretty fast
  9. Cheers Matt [emoji106] After replacing the wheels for some reason I couldn't let myself part with them just yet. Eventually I'll be after some bbs lm's as a second set so I'll probably sell the stock wheels to help fund that. Cheers mate [emoji4] It did drive me crackers, but I just gave up in the end after endless flushes and rad bleeds! What drove me even more insane was the strip of condensation running up passenger side of the windscreen it wouldn't budge for no one. Hasn't bothered me over the summer obviously but winter is round the corner again now Cheers for that JayJay you're a life saver. If that's the fault I'm going to be overwhelmed but distraught at the same time haha
  10. Hi all, I've had the supra a year now so I thought it's about time I started a little build thread, granted it won't be much compared to half of the big builds going on in this forum but it's a start and a long term project. First of all its a j-spec 1999 RZ-S VVTI was tiptronic now 6speed courtesy of northeast motorwerx Bought it off Jurgen at JM-Imports last September with 89,000 km on the clock totally unmodified apart from the radiator cap. After about a month of owning the car, getting closer to winter it decided it didn't want to blow any hot air in the cabin anymore. So I replaced the radiator, rad hoses, thermostat, water pump and the heater matrix so now i have the choice of either cold or luke warm air. First mods were tein s tech lowering springs, spacers to push the stock wheels out abit, and a Whifbitz 3" double decat to whifbitz 4" catback with 1 bar RR. More recently it's had a V161 conversion, metal monkey dials, leather Recaro speeds with custom low mount rails, blitz air intake, hks ssqv4 bov, ngk iridium spark plugs, walbro 255 fuel pump, greddy profec b new style boost controller, front upper strut brace, 6000k HIDS, viper alarm and immobiliser with remote start and last but not least Rota GTR's in gunmetal grey unfortunately they don't do them in hyper black! Now I have the following waiting to be fitted: Chris Wilson FCD, BC BR coilovers, front brake seal kit (shims to be removed from all four corners) and HEL braided brake hoses, full active front spoiler set up with manual override switch, wheels to be painted hyper black (if I can find out either the paint code or the procedure) and calipers to be painted liquid yellow. The arches are being rolled soon, as the 9.5j et30 rota's like to occasionally scrub on the back arches and to allow for more clearance for when the coilovers are fitted. During the conversion we ran into a few problems, first of all the loom running to the autobox was a 2 pin, the attachment point on the 6spd box was a 3 pin, so the car is still running with no speedo until I can find out which wire is the speedo signal and wire it from the box to the clocks. Secondly it had an intermittent 6k Rev limit, ended up doing some research and cutting the old park/neutral switch wire from the ecu. Problem solved. However now eml light is always on so that also needs to be sorted. But I am looking for an aftermarket ecu that is compatible with VVTI. So.. There it is so far, still a few issues and a few mods to sort out hopefully it will be tip top for next summer quite possibly a FMIC, cams and a decent sound system before then too! See how the power goes then eventually maybe a big single or big twins who knows?? Here's a few pictures of when I first bought the car, during the conversion and the end result so far, thanks for looking!
  11. Hi mate, I'm also interested in heat shield and I'll have the new HKS filter too posted to durham if possible. Just pm me a price and and means to pay bud
  12. Sweet thanks mate, just let me know a price and how you want to take payment [emoji106]
  13. Are the door mirrors electric folding mate? If so I'll take them and also the stock air intakes, under bonnet and under headlight cheers
  14. Quite possibly mate. No one wants their thread to be turned into a slagging match to be fair. I agree, I haven't seen any change in performance, just getting rid of the big plastic box makes the bay look abit neater and you can hear the tubbies spool more now.
  15. Yes, I asked for advice to see people's opinions, or to find out about any alternatives or custom set ups. it's not that it's not what I wanted to hear nor did I decide I knew best, I simply done what I wanted to do. Just because it's what you would do doesn't mean to say it's what everyone should do, so wind your neck in. I did not whine at all franky boy, I simply stated im not happy with the way it's sitting, nothing a couple of silicone hoses can't fix. I didn't get defensive neither, I just don't appreciate your cockiness and I couldn't care less if no one cared, I don't know if you realise but this is a forum, people post up problems they encounter and get help and guidance and once they over come the problem the opportunity is there to then help other people with the same problem. You read the thread and gave the worst possible advice in the world mate. Sorry. But yes most car manufacturers design the equipment for specific cars as it's the best option for the car however they also try and budget the cost hence why there are a lot of aftermarket options. Everyone is different, I find it looks better, clears fmics and you can hear the turbos spool...so what? Sure I can take the piss out of you for things you like that I don't. Oh my word, the supra too much for me to handle? You need to grow up. And do you honestly think swapping the stock airbox for a cone filter would make THAT much of a difference if any? If the answer is yes then you need to sort your life out. So next time if you have nothing positive or constructive to say then don't say anything at all just keep your opinions to yourself. Do us all a favour and go and learn some manners and respect. With reference to the side note, thanks much appreciated. Peace
  16. I just left army last jan after 7 years, was REME aircraft tech, 7Bn and 5AAC NI for last 3yrs
  17. I also found using the search button that you can custom build a heat shield in conjunction with the two standard airfeeds that houses a cone filter which also fits with an fmic pal [emoji106] if you could be bothered to read the full thread you would see that was my plan in the first place. It's called test and adjust
  18. Correct fella I did ask for advice, I did listen however the whole point is to get away from the stock system so why would I go back stock especially when it doesn't fit with fmic? But erm cheers for the "constructive" comment [emoji106]
  19. I haven't tried a manual ecu mate, the 6spd VVTI ecu's are ninja to find. I'll try find out which wire to cut hopefully that sorts it but surely if that was the case why doesn't it always impose the 6k Rev limit if it thinks it's still in park, because sometimes it's fine. I've found that if I don't put my foot down for a while then suddenly I decide to floor it in second it will Rev to 7200, then change to third and it will only Rev to 6000 Thanks for the comments guys
  20. Autobox and shifter have been sold Still have pedals, clock dials, prop, diff, seats and springs and shocks available
