  1. Didn't know about the sub frame... Seems like under the wiper cowl and tailgate is a nice place for rust too.
  2. Yeah I guess anything that you can get here, just get here. Just gotta included P&P but otherwise you know what you're paying in the end. With today's import fees you won't be saving sh1t anyway. Best thing is to ask everyone you can, someone will find the part...as long as it's not long discontinued.
  3. I had the same question...as someone suggested it for checking part availability and I see you can buy stuff direct too. So would you use Amayama vs calling a local trader? I been getting quotes for stuff from all over...but adding stuff to basket on Amayama, it seem like you could save a FORTUNE...but does it actually come out that way? They seem to combine shipping too...but what about import fees? I don't mind waiting a bit for stuff. Do trades just use these places to get you parts then?
  4. As UK spec lights are no longer available, the only replacements are EU spec but they are LHD... Can they be set up on UK spec?
  5. Anyone tired these? grams is another one, a lot less but not sure if fitment is any good.
  6. Supra always gets the VIP treatment, no matter where it goes, respect for these cars is thru the roof!
  7. Bit of stage question but is the primer decent? Like a rust-inhibiting primer?
  8. Yeah, I've phoned a few times but he don't pick up, had a few email responds but slow. Whifbitz is about the only one that gets back quite quickly.
  9. I read the hood is made of aluminum to save weight and I don't think I've ever seen one rust... Did toyota do weight saving in other places? Was that the only part made of something that doesn't rust?
  10. Tried to email the address kicking around but it just bounced so I guess he's retired or something.
  11. Seen the name mentioned in some old posts, just wondering if he's still a source for parts?
  12. Yeah, I can't say for certain until I find some space to work on it unfortunately =( but it could well be. Looking thru some old photos when I did the seized pistons years ago, the springs were heavily rusted but I'd suspect they are stock...
  13. I have stock 17's and I too find it so harsh and rattly...I haven't done much work to the car so I'm not 100% sure if they are original springs, the shocks are yellow...but I REALLY dislike how it feels sometimes and just want it to be smooth. But without a place to work on it, I really can't do much about it. Are all the OEM suspension parts still available for this car?
  14. Doing some digging as I really want to understand the purpose of these lamp washers on UK cars, today... So DfT says this about HIDs (and others of this type): "once fitted to the vehicle it must have headlamp cleaning" What's strange is HID is not covered in the "The Road Vehicle Lighting Regulations 1989" and are technically not permitted but because of EU (under ECE Regulation 98) and new cars having HIDs, DfT has to accept these new vehicles and have made an exception for aftermarket HIDs. As long as they meet certain criteria. But they say you can't convert an existing halogen headlamp unit and replace with an approved unit only. Although I have heard of kits...no idea how this works then. As far as I know MK4's didn't come with HIDs, and Euro spec didn't come with the washers. So I'm still not sure what legal purpose they serve, or served back in 1993 and especially if they don't work for cleaning anymore. What about JDM Supra's or any other vehicle with out washers, how can they be allowed to use HIDs if they have no washer? Mat did mention if it's over a certain brightness they are required...but how often do you even see headlamp washers like this, the ones you see are flush and don't obstruct the head light...their purpose is to clean the lens.
  15. Interesting and if it's a JDM with HIDs there's no requirement? HIDs never came on stock cars anyway did they?
  16. LOLOLOLOL never thought someone would actually come up with that combination!
  17. Simon_RD said: The UK spec is my favourite, but I just can't stand those headlight washers. Also, don't the USDM's need front plates fitted for most U.S states? Out of interest, If you have a UK spec, does it still have to have the headlight washers to pass MOT these days? I've seen a few UK specs, but they always seem to be missing the things. Can't stand them on my own car, they serve no purpose! The dude from carwow mentioned something about them being a legal requirement...don't know what the guy was smoking that day lol Yeah there's around 20 states that don't require a front license plate...I'm actually jealous.
  18. The one under the steering wheel
  19. Do OEM panels come pre coated or are they bare metal? Never bought new panels but they must come pre coated so you can at least store them? And do they basically need sanded down to bare metal before being primed/pained?
  20. So anyone ever send alloys, hoods, engines, big heavy stuff? Any suggestions as I'm looking to get something picked up but I have no dims or weight for the item.
  21. Can someone recommend a good Freight/Cargo courier for heavy/big items? Thanks
  22. Totally agree, they looks so much better without them. All we can do is get a smaller one.
