  1. Last time I had a flat battery I took the thing out to charge it, put it back in and the immobiliser / alarm etc just worked straight away! I have a toad immobiliser/alarm too I think I read on here that it was advisable to disconnect the battery completely rather than charge it whilst its still connected.
  2. I have a stock jspec TT auto in 199 silver, has a dent in the rear arch though unfortunately otherwise i'd be on this!!
  3. Yeah my alarm system has auto window closure, its pretty nifty! Although I always figured its because the passenger has all the time in the world to sort their window out whereas you usually need both hands for driving
  4. You're still gonna get PMs cos not everyone will read this thread Are they super rare or something? I'm thinking they must be if they were a deciding factor in buying a whole car lol
  5. Christ!! I'd have no confidence with that!
  6. What sort of speeds are we talking about and in what conditions? The most I've had the supe up to is 130 before I shit myself (and that's on an open motorway, in the dry.) Around town, the amount of speed bumps, coppers, potholes etc means the most i've ever hit is probably 70-80 (on a carriageway, not through residentials) Maybe its to do with the power difference, mine is still a stock TT auto? Although for 7 years previously I was driving a 1.4, 75bhp VW Golf but I didn't have a fear of driving the supra, I was used to the power and kick by the the end of my 350 mile drive home from picking her up! Do you think it's the modifications made to the Supra that instills more confidence? Mine is completely stock (save for a few pipework bits in the bay, UK brakes and new porterfield pads all round) and I would never hammer it in the wet as I don't have confidence in 20 year old suspension parts (even from a well made motor like the supra!) I will happily admit I drove like an absolute tool for the first 2 years after getting my licence (racing my mates (75bhp vs 105bhp), going round a roundabout the wrong way just to win etc (I said I was a tool!! ) so I consider myself lucky not to have been killed/killed someone/seriously injured and thats just in a slow mk4 golf! Once I realised I didn't want points on my licence (and never have done, thankfully!) my driving just changed instantly. I now feel like I am more patient, calm and measured on the road. The Supra gets the odd blip when its a clear road and the conditions are good but a stock setup feels fragile.
  7. What sort of dates are we looking at?? The Mrs parents live in Aberdeen so could tie this trip in with visiting them and kill 2 birds with 1 stone! Although I'm hoping to have had a bit more work done to the supe before then as its still running on stock suspension after 20 years
  8. Put me down for a Supra mug! Let me know payment details
  9. Yeah i'd also like to know how difficult this is as I'm currently stuck with the old 199 silver! Some polish guy in my street has an accord that's matte black, looks nice
  10. I can only imagine mate, I will take good care of it! She's going in for a clean tomorrow at a local valet place then next week will be looking at getting the scratched skirt and dent sorted I ordered a set of custom dials from a polish company so these should be here within 2 weeks, also got a blitz rad cap so nothing major yet. I quite like the stock look tbh, planning on going bpu in the future though! Will be taking her in to whifbitz for a major service soon. Jordan
  11. Just got back home from a 13 hour round trip to get my supra!! Obviously the journey back was a bit more exciting Words just cannot describe those 277 wonderful miles home! What a machine! Drove like an absolute dream and I got 300+ miles to a tank I'll put some pictures up tomorrow, I bought it from another member on here (ccssupra) and it's been very well looked after in all honesty. I am now part of the family YAYYY!
  12. Just had a quote from Flux for £720! £4300 agreed value, 2 years NCB, 25 years old, 5k limit (classic policy) Well happy! Sky couldn't even quote me as I didnt have 1 year's experience with a RWD car! Bit silly considering they are the club insurer, never heard of someone's first RWD being a Supra before?? lol Ryan from Sky was very polite on the phone though and even wished me happy birthday for last week which softened the blow
  13. Welcome!! You'll find loads of really useful stuff on here and the technical knowledge amongst members is huge! You could strip a Supra and rebuild it from the ground up by yourself just using the help from members on here Good luck!! Jordan
  14. What dials are those?? They look awesome!
  15. Cheers guys, your cheques are in the post (if only!!)
  16. Hello, So I've been looking at a few supras and I've been quite curious as to what people would go for if I gave them £1000 free to do modifications to the car. So (for example) if I had: '94 RZ TT Auto 58k Miles 199 Quicksilver UK Brakes Leather Seats, Electric Driver Seat Clean, no rusting. Slight lacquer peel on front bumper What would you do with the first £1000 you spent on the car? I'm looking for ideas! I'd look to go BPU in the future but would want to get used to the standard car first. Would you get it all checked out and serviced etc or go straight for parts?? Jordan
  17. I've been thinking that but I see some posts on here of people getting quotes for like £200-500 a year and wonder what the average age of these drivers are and what sort of ncb people have? I know location can play a big factor but I wouldn't want people posting that on an open forum so looking to get a general idea. Glad someone else thought it wasn't too bad a price though Think I might get it cheaper if I give them a ring Thanks for the information so far gents!
  18. Yeah sorry I know its a bit vague as stats can vary from person to person, I thought comparison websites would be rubbish for this type of car though? (considering the mods etc) I had a rough price from Flux of about £800 a year with mods declared but said I should phone them for an accurate quote!
  19. Hi guys, Sorry if this comes across as a bit of a nosey question: What is the average age of guys (and gals) on here that are insuring their supras? I'm currently looking to buy my first at the age of 25 with 2 years NCB (no accidents, just named driver ) and just wondering who would be the best insurer(s) to look at for my age bracket? I'm looking to get a TT. I've had a quick search but I could only see threads asking for everyones general age (unrelated to insurance). I plan on doing a bit of shopping around (standard really!) but are there any places that are just not worth enquiring with? I'll be using the supe as a daily driver (including commuting 2-3 times a week) Cheers, Jordan

    Roll Cage

Just to give off the impression that it's a fast car so you need a roll cage for safety although as Gaz pointed out, the bolt on one's are useless. Maybe it makes you feel like you're driving a real race car?
  21. Yeah I've already contacted the seller to say if it's still around that I'll be interested.
  22. Does he have a for sale thread up in the classifieds?? Never really been interested in the aerotop but if its clean and has been well looked after then I could be persuaded
  23. 10-11k Must be TT, manual or auto im not fussed
  24. You, good sir, are a LEGEND! That looks lovely, think I'll give them a tinkle
  25. Don't think I'm ever gonna find a tidy one at this rate!! Cheers Gaz
