    Fuel Price

When electric cars become the majority they will probably tax them based on miles driven so it'll work out to the same amount of revenue as petrol cars in the end.
  2. As far as I'm aware both come from the distributor.
  3. NA haters The car doesn't look that bad, it's a good base. I skipped most of the interview sections.
  4. With a ruler and some patience Get the distance between the two mounting bolt holes, find the centreline of the new plate and work from there. Maybe you can make a template out of cardboard for practice. Use a nice sharp drill bit or you can make a mess of the plastic. From memory the bolt holes are m6, I got some stainless low-profile allen-head screws for them so they don't get rusted in.
  5. Solved, it was the tensioner pulley bearing for the serpentine belt.
  6. Not the crank pulley, the timing belt tensioner much better.
  7. I took it to another garage and they're having fun with it. Apparently the crankshaft pulley bolt hole had been stripped and helicoiled in the past and they managed to break the helicoil when taking the pulley off. I'm glad I didn't decide to do it myself
  8. I'm still in the parts accumulation stage but that'll be me eventually. My plan is w58 + 1uz.
  9. I did 8000km last year or thereabouts. I'll probably do less this year because I'm thinking about getting another vehicle.
  10. Very true. I'm actually considering having the whole thing stripped back and refreshed underneath in a couple of years but I've got some painting to do for now.
  11. Yeah, a few years, it's gradually gotten worse to the point where I have become annoyed enough to do something about it. IIRC the timing belt was done not long before I bought it so maybe they didn't change the seals at that time it is a mystery.
  12. I decided I'd give it a good blast with the pressure washer, it was indeed very oily. I found one of the bolts I'd lost from the cambelt cover too, which was lucky.
  13. It'd be interesting to know if USDM cars have the plug on the engine wiring harness.
  14. I took my car to the garage today because it's been pissing out oil from the front main seal and I'm too lazy to change it myself. They said they would be happy to do the seal, but only if I cleaned all the oil off the engine first. I thought getting oil on you was in the job description for a mechanic
  15. You're going to have a hell of a time finding all the parts.

    Which coolant?

I used part number 08889-80002, it's available on ebay
  17. Blue loctite? I've never had that problem personally. Make sure you properly clean the gasket surface and that your cover itself isn't cracked or deformed. I torqued mine by feel so they're probably tighter than they should be.
  18. He's down in Eastleigh iirc, send him a message.
  19. Ok that's fine if you could PM me an exact total price and your paypal/bank then I shall buy it.
  20. I've bought all the parts for this method but I haven't got around to putting it together yet.
  21. ebay prices are inflated and always have been, but an offer from a dealer will be a lowball because they want to make as much money as they can. I'd go with somewhere in between.
  22. How much is postage for an undertray?
  23. I prefer standard height, my front bumper still scrapes on things sometimes and it makes me sad.
  24. Yes much better than my old one. Just need to find someone to fit it now.
