    Boot glass seal

Are you sure it's the boot glass seal that's gone? I've been having the exactly same issue with condensation and a small puddle by the back interior light and it turns out to be coming through a weld in the back where the water drains from the left hand channel and drops down between the bumper and the rear of the car. It might be worth checking there and then sealing it. It was driving me crazy and in the end, I spent the weekend removing most of the plastic trim and looking for where it was coming from! Ben

    Instagram?

    Yep. I'm on IG. https://www.instagram.com/rwbjj/ ~Ben
  3. I was trying to get hold of a moderator for a membership query. Could a mod PM me? Thx Ben
  4. Fitted mine from Whifbitz a few months ago. Similarly to ATB, made a huge difference. I bought both but it was the bottom ones that had gone. I had to use a dremmel to get one of the screws out. ~ Ben
  5. I ordered a pair the other day from their website and got the following email a few days later: Thank you for your order with SGS Engineering. Unfortunately the struts on this particular vehicle are attached to the car with a bracket arrangement which is unique to the vehicle. It is manufactured by Toyota and is a part we cannot replicate. What we require are the original struts sending into us so our engineers can refurbish and re-use the brackets with our new struts. If you wish to proceed with the order and send the original struts in then please call me on the number below to discuss the matter. I emailed them straight back asking whether that effected lead times and cost and 11 days later, I've had no reply.... I'll chase them or find another supplier at some point but for now, I still have the golfing umbrella in the boot. Edit: ~ actually, I'll give them a call on Monday as I've just double checked and they've taken payment (via PayPal) and have ignored my email for 11 days.... ~Ben.

  7. Hi Steve, Have you got any spare kits for sale or are you starting a new list? Cheers ~Ben.
  8. If you don't need the speed converter anymore, i'll happily take it off your hands for a few beers. Mine is reading KMS on a MPH scale as the old converter was removed and not replaced before i bought the car. Just one of the many little things on my list to sort out.... Cheers, Ben
  9. Thanks for all the suggestions and help. Much appreciated. It looks like the ODO buffering was at fault. I bypassed it by snipping pink wire and attaching the loom side to the blue/red on the back of the ODO and even after a spirited run, no more flashing o/d light and no more error 42. The O/D light used to be on within 1/2 mile. I knew that it had a 42 error from previously diagnosing the flashing O/D but this week was the first time it had led to the ! And engine light coming on. Anyway, I'm well happy that it was nothing serious. ~ Ben.
  10. Thanks for the suggestions. Brake fluid is fine. Also it doesn't happen on heavy acceleration, which I thought was the cause of the intermittent brake fluid warning. It first happened driving normally at around 75mph on a dual carriage way. I'll have another look at it tomorrow and maybe see if Keron has a sensor I can buy.
  11. Yes. Oil lights show on start. The Error codes are as follows: 42 (I knew about this one) and 24 air intake sensor. Anyone know if the AIT a common fail or is it likely to be something else? Thx.
  12. I wondered about that, but would that cause both the central warning triangle and the engine light on the right to come on? I'll check in a few minutes. ~Ben
  13. Oil, Water, temp all seemed fine. As I was on way to a meeting, I ended up Gavin to limp it home doing 40-50mph and the light stayed off. I'll get a paper lip and post diagnosis code shortly... It's an N/A auto. ~ Ben
  14. Hi, Help! Engine warning light and warning triangle have both come on after about 10 miles. Turned off engine, let it a few minutes and drove for a bit and it came back on. Now sat in a layby looking for a piece of wire to check the diagnostics port. Other than the lights, the car seems fine. It's worth noting that the o/d light has always flashed due to speed sensor (code 42 iirc) It might also be worth mentioning that I changed the stereo yesterday. Any thoughts? Thx Ben.
  15. If it's central, almost under the front seat, it could be the heat shield. Mine vibrates like crazy at certain low revs. I looked at it on a ramp the other day and it's being held together by wood screws! Another thing for the list... Cheers, ~Ben.
  16. Hi, I'm in a similar position. I have a couple of questions, is the speedo in miles or kms? Has there possibly been a converter fitted and then removed? Looking at the cables behind the dash of my car and the fitting instructions for a speed converter/delimiter, it is clear from the wires that one was fitted and then removed. I'm in the process of determining whether it is simply that it's been wired back up incorrectly or whether it is the actual odo unit that's at fault. Not sure how much help that is. Cheers, Ben
  17. Nice looking car (and yes, I like marmite) I'd be interested to see the full advert when you post it.

    Hi,

Thank you for the welcomes. Benjy - thanks for the PM, it helped. Scott-TT - what was your username on the ftooc? (I'm bjenkinsnz on there) - Ben.

    Hi,

Thanks ~ that's what I'd guessed. I suppose I'd better sign up then And if the forum is even half as good as the FTOOC forum used to be, then yes, it will be money very well spent. (And from what I've seen, it is) ~ Ben

    Hi,

Hi, I currently own a couple of FTO's but am looking at upgrading and getting a supra. Not sure which type yet but I am watching the classifieds with interest. Quick question, as a non-paid up member, can I send PMs? I've sent a couple but not had anything back. Cheers, Ben.
