Fantastic! Thank you its at prince parade car park not to far from the clock tower roundabout will look forward to meeting you there. -
Unfortunately a recent friend of mine passed away in a car accident a month ago. He was a car enthusiastic and local car clubs have all came together to organise a open memorial event for the fellow petrol head with the attendance at a alarming 600+ people so far. As I will be attending the event I wanted to take this opertunity to see if any fellow supra owners would be intrested in coming? Not only would it be nice to get to know local owners as theres not a huge amount around lincolnshire and never come across a meet that isnt miles away. But it would be nice to show of a beatuiful car to the people of Skegness. This meet is all legit as all the relevant authorities are aware and have gave permission to the organiser to go ahead. So please I'm calling all supra owners come along and show of your pride and joy. The Facebook link to the meet is as follows:- https://www.facebook.com/events/759612180749385/ Thank you

Hi-Temp Silicone Sealant Question. You Brickies Maybe Able To Help
dazla100 replied to a98pmalcolm's topic in Supra Chat
when i took my headlights apart i managed to reseal them with gasket sealant and not had a problem with them at all think normal silicon wont work especially on a hot day hope this helps. -

it was all hand powered use wet and dry 1200 grain sandpaper ensuring you keep sanding using back and fourth movements obviously make sure u use some soap and water on the sandpaper then after finishing move up to a 3000 grain sand paper so the scratches become more fine. if you use headlight restorer i managed to rub it in by hand but will make life allot easier with a buffer i think mate
-
only sanded down the outside of the lenses mate then just used t cuts polish and restorer on them
-
thank you maybe lose the halos then
-
the car is going to be sprayed white soon so i thought the blue halos might look good when its white i did not realize they would be so bright tho lol they where 70mm + 90mm (outer edge)
-
After a week and spending £60 to restore my headlights i am pleased to say they are finally done. Unfortunatly they was extreamly sun damaged when i first brought the car so i decided to sand the lenses down using 1200 grain sandpaper then moving to 3000 grain sandpaper. once the lenses where sanded down i used t-cut headlight restore polish to buff them back so they became clear (jobs a gooden). after ordering some blue halos and sanding and spraying all the inners of the lights to a dark gun metal grey they was ready to be all put back together. Im pleased with the result what do you think?? [GRIN][/GRIN]

There's about 3 clunks in total but it don't do it every time I wil try have a lisen to find out the location of it but to me it sounds like it's coming from the back end of the car thank you for your feedback it's much appreciated.
-
It's got a W58 transmission in it btw
-
to be honest I'm not sure how would I find that out?
-
I noticed last night that when pulling away in first gear from a stand still in my jz manual i can hear a few clunks come from some where. It doesn't do it in any other gear apart from 1st and it does not do it all the time has anyone else experienced this could it be the diff or possibly the transmission on the way out?..
-
yes they can be a little twitchy lol even the autos. solid cars tho mate and there built to last so enjoy lol
-
Well I'm hoping the only way will be down in price for me over the years lol
-
It's cheap compared to almost every broker I tried lol
-
Also the other strange thing is that I never carried over my 5years no claims on my company car so the policy has 0 years no claims
-
Yeah I checked it over and over as I was pretty shocked at the price I claimed to do 4'000 miles a year and a car value of £3,500. I also told them I have a work vehicle which I'm allowed to use for private use which may have knocked it down more. But I have them the exact info as I gave to sky they just came out on top.
-
Personally I feel that sky should be giving us there best quote regardless of what other insurance brokers have quoted us just seems like they try and squeeze as much as they can out of you without actually trying to sort you out a good deal.
-
Welcome congrats on ya supra mate you won't be disappointed
-
Are you sure Adrian flux is the same as flux direct cause I'm under the impression that there two completely different insurance brokers sky insurance wasnt hardly any help at all we went over the details over and over and they couldn't get any lower that £700 a year which was a bit disappointing flux direct even said that they specialise in these types of cars and they would be interested in setting somthing up with the club.
-
I had a go at getting a price with sky insurance which they managed to do me a fairly respectable price of £700 full comp on my 3ltr JZ import even with the club discount. As I continued to shop around I come across a company called flux direct who unbelievably quoted me £350 a year for fully comp insurance with all add ons break down window cover etc I could not recommend this insurance company enough. I spoke to a extremely polite chap called Ryan and mentioned about the mkiv supra club which gave me a massive discount I'm 25 years old and have 3 points on my license. And they still tailored a quote for myself. I REALLY recommend trying this company when you next renew as I think you may be in for a suprise.
