I've got a Getrag V161 that I bought from a member on here called fly. I've had it for two years now and it's just been sat here doing nothing. According to this little xxxx fly its in perfect working order only done 60k miles from a N/A supra. But when I fitted it it had a bearing rumble from 1st -4th gears but got gradually better the further you went through the box, It probably sounds like the main bearing in the center section but I just haven't got the proper tools to do it myself,and Toyota's SST are stupidly priced so time to let someone else have a go. I originally paid £3200 for it I know I won't get that back but open to offers if anyone's interested, Cheers, Dan

For sale is a stock TT air intake duct/pipe 17881-46180. This is a brand new item I bought for my project but I will not be using it now. It hasn't even been fitted, just been sat in the shed collecting dust. So ideal for anyone who's original pipe is showing signs of age or deteration. Was looking for £27 and that's including postage to UK mainland. These are around £90 from maindealer. Thanks for looking.

Gearbox needs to be removed for proper inspection, I would suggest finding someone with a garage with a 2 post lift or a inspection pit so much easier than trying to do it on a driveway. Also these boxes are bloody heavy.

There's a little bit of noise when clutch is fully depressed but it is more when clutch is released and load is put into the box. That's when you hear the clunking etc.

Clutch and flywheel were near enough new, don't know what's happening with video will have to look at settings, Cheers

I need some advice, I have a V161 getrag that's making some funky noises. I'm running a stock flywheel and clutch. The problem is that when I change gear and then put load into the box it's making a cluncking, whining with severe backlash. The gear change itself is smooth, the flywheel and clutch are working fine, but as soon as you apply power/load you start to hear the noises. I've had the car on a ramp and disconnected the propshaft and the noises are still there. http:/youtu.be/gvbd1SGh45c I do apologise for the quality of the video, but you can hear the noises. Trying to find a replacement universal joint for a jap spec propshaft , the one I need is for a late model 2jz ge model with the v161 gear box. The problem I'm having is that the later spec has a slightly larger u/v joint and all that I can find are uk spec , measurements are 24.6mm cap and between 72-74 mm length, if anyone knows where I can get one give us a shout, Cheers, Dan

Yeah I'm in plymouth, getting the engine and box in is the easy bit, I don't mind the fabrication and all that, just trying to work out electrics, I'm currently running a is200 with tte supercharger kit with 160mm pulley with a greddy emanage ultimate. It's running 260bhp atm but time has come for a change. For what I would spend on upgrading the internals on a 1G-FE (and for little gain) I might as well go for something different. With a bit of luck I can still use the emanage , still haven't worked out the wiring, weather to use the supra harness or modify the is200 harness. I know I have to keep the is200 Ecu for some things, so hours of fun to look forward to. Just trying to get everything ready so it goes according to plan and my car is off the road for as little time as possible.

Suspension and brakes have all been done, got supra 4 pots on front,hks hyper max plus fully adjustable suspension and braces front and rear.. Wiring is going to be a nightmare, haven't really thought how I'm going to do it, but other people have done it, so it must be possible.

Just want to say hi, to everyone. I will be on here a lot in the coming months,asking for information, best way to tune, ect. I have decided to put a 2jz gte into my Lexus is200. Good idea,bad idea I don't know yet,probably won't be enjoying it when I have to do the wiring, I've managed to get myself an engine, just looking for a gearbox now and I can start this project.Just gathering parts at the moment so everything goes to plan.( I hope).
