  1. Raise the front end and grab the anti-roll bar near where the drop link connects to it and try pulling down on it If it's stiff it is fine if not the drop links need replacing
  2. Try the wheel rocking that will tell you if it is a upper/lower Ball joint or the wheel bearing
  3. Failing that lift the said side off the floor with a Jack and put your hands at either side of the shell and rock it from side to side without turning it do the same with your hands at the top and bottom rocking back and forth and see if the wheel has any play in it
  4. Have a look at the top mount on the suspension that would be a good place to start
  5. The instructions that came with the thermostat is the top let wiring diagram above and some other text but nothing about keeping it running. And if you wouldn't bother i will leave it as is also i wouldn't have gone to electric fans if the original viscous one hadn't been shredded when my crank pulley snapped and destroyed it Thanks for your help though, it's appreciated and i have learnt a couple of things in the process, so that's a bonus
  6. could the 12V live on the thermostat be for keeping the fans running when the engine switched off after a long run for further cooling. And would the supra benefit from the fans still running after engine switch off (like a Jag s-type) or would that be pointless?
  7. The 12 V live i used is the 30A fuse in the fusebox for the original fan setup However it keeps running the fans when the engine is off no matter the temperature What i would like to have is this setup but the fans turn off with the engine if it is below the temp specified and to keep running with the engine off if it is higher Any help is appreciated Thanks is advance
  8. I've had these installed just over a year now and decided to relocate the fuse box and battery so have redone the wiring for these twin fans Now originally i had the live in the diagram below just inserted to the live in the stock fan connector Had no problems After the rewire (could have possibly done this wrong, if i have it's the only thing Inc. the wipers lol). The diagram below shows the instructions from the fan controller i bought and is for 1 fan only not twin fans There is a diagram of my current setup and an alternative My question is i know it is better to have one relay per fan incase one blows the other should keep running, have i done this correctly
  9. Ah, it does come in handy on frosty mornings lol I can help if you need it but it was a while ago
  10. Are you combing them both so you have de-misting and folding mirrors
  11. Is there the same amount of pins in the facelift one or more its a bit hard to tell from the picture
  12. Ah, was your old mirrors de-misting ones?
  13. How much bigger is the plug as mine went through like a treat
  14. No you did an excellent job on explaining how to reseal and clean the oil pan no pictures needed and the "garage" won't be doing the job as they want £100 for 20 mins work and that's with me supplying the atf fluid And it was me asking about the gasket potion as this is my first time working with potions so I need to get a grasp on what the differences are and what can do what, and thank you, all of the help is appreciated.
  15. Does rtv sealant specify it on the tube or is this what it is http://reviews.halfords.com/4028/174675/reviews.htm I'm only asking as I know what rtv stands for but a search on halfords brings the Granville silicone sealant up but it doesn't mention if its rtv, and a Google search also bring up different sealants up but I've only found one that says trv on the actual bottle that goes in one of them guns. Thanks again
  16. Ah thanks, will have a look now I apologise for the repeated questions
  17. OK so it turns out the oil pan is leaking slightly had it in a garage and they found the leak These are the 2 sealants I have the Threebond is the exact same as Toyota's black sealant Would any of these suffice for sealing the oil pan or would I need something else like rtv sealant Thanks, like you said it was self inflicted lol
  18. Fair enough I will try as soon as I've had a little nap, been up since 0200 and will see if everything is fine thanks for the info nice to know there's quite a bit left then
  19. I'm doing after all the money I've spent on her and don't get paid till Friday and not sure how much is left in tank considering the fuel needle no longer moves when the car is turned to on so don't want to risk running out between home and work lol
  20. I will do, hopefully its now sorted I'll have to wait till Friday to find out, and maybe order some more oil just in case, only 500ml left, and I've got the p/s fluid to change yet. Anyways thanks to everyone for their help and I will report back when I have sorted the issue
  21. I mentioned the oil cooler in the first post lol Oh yes its defenatly self inflicted I have checked the cooler and fitting for leaks after it was installed and had been topped up with oil, engine was also running so the joints are fine, there's no kinks in the pipes and there not trapped as they have plenty of room. This is only one of the three issues I currently have lol but its the worst one the others arnt that bad in comparison (I'm sure someone will disagree) But for the amount of work I've done and considering it was my first time at anything like it, I don't think I've done too bad
  22. 500ml from the last time we spoke However in total it has had about 4 1/2 litres but in the bloody thing baring in mind I did remove the stock rad add an oil cooler and drop the sump it still seems a lot of fluid though
