Headed of to Curborough Sprint Circuit yesterday with Trackdaydrivers.com Was a good turnout, the start line was busy all day with a mixed bag of cars as usual I have a few more pics to come once they've been edited. I thinks some sticky tires and a diff will make a huge difference in getting round quicker.

Trackday Drivers Curborough Trackday - 23rd May
Richie_k83 replied to Richie_k83's topic in England - Midlands
Trackday is still a go for anyone who's interested. I will be taking my Supra round for the first time and we will have our Suzuki Swift Race car there too. Starting at 9am for a quick briefing and sound check (91db max) There will be hot food and drink for sale for most of the day too. Hopefully the weather is nice and will see you there [emoji4] -
I sold my Na suspension all in for about £100, same as you are selling only the swaybars were a bit tatty and my left front strut was leaking

Another of those annoying 'whats it worth' threads

Beautiful looking car there bud. I wouldnt give up, although an NA, mine has fought me with constant running issues that i struggled to get to the bottom of plus a busted flywheel. Thought about getting rid of it and the stress that it was giving me, ended up being a simple fix and all is forgotten about. Really enjoying the car now and wouldnt change it for the world.... Before my Supra i spent around 4-5k on a MK1 MX5, problem with spending and modifying a car is that you will never make all of the money back, even if you break it, although you will get more, its never the full amount! -
Thats the best bit..!

Looks like i am ready to go! Just need to do a few jobs to the car. Race gear arrived along with my licence Getting excited now!
-
Thanks bud, Yea I have had a play on the road with it but not on track yet. Pretty suprised at how well it works, I didnt think it would make a noticable difference but it does...!

SARD Mounts arrived today from Japan with our Cusco Shipment Just need to sort paint for them now and a nice Carbon GT Wing

Anyone familiar with Pinto engines with Webers?
Richie_k83 replied to Pete's topic in Non-Supra Technical
^^This, looks like you have covered the most of it, if timing, compression and Spark are all ok, then it looks to be the Webbers... -
Another snap from today's little drive out, thing of taking her Sprint/Hill Climb Racing, not sure how she'd fair up being Auto...
-
Well the car is still running perfectly, just in time for the sunshine. Summer is going to be good [emoji4] Had to pop the Wing back on as the grommets I used to plug the holes were leaking when it rained

Cheers guys Swift looks fun but i've not had a go yet. Got a load of suspension stuff ordered up for the car along with some maintenance parts too. Had an email to say my race license is on its way to me already. Race suit, gloves and boots are coming Tuesday and my helmet is here already Pretty excited...!

Been surrounded by racing stuff these last few months at work (aside from the parts) A handful of guys in the office are now competing and making progress. Dunlop Puma Cup race car driven by our head of sales which uses stock engine and drivetrain with the exception of an exhaust, uprated pads, sticky tires and Gaz Gold Coilovers; Our tricked out Suzuki Swift running a recently fitted SQS 6 speed sequential box, Jenvey throttle bodies, Kelford Cams, full Piper exhaust system, Cusco coilovers, rollcage and LSD. This is being co driven by a couple of sales guys in Hill Climb & Sprint Racing this year; Just one of the old school cars owned by our company director, a Singer Chamois to be used in Historic production class sprinting; Following on from this, I can't stop the need to go have some fun and decided to bite the bullet and try my hand at some racing... So I got my licence application filled out and sent off I will be competing on an entry level budget so not throwing around the big bucks in the up to 1400cc modified production class Sprint. I'm driving a 1.2 Corsa C that is a work in progress as the car came to me cheap. Going to shed a ton of weight where possible and concentrate 100% on handling and brakes. Can't wait...!

Lmao, must be why i'm growing mine lol

Finally...!! I have got to the root of this damn idle problem. After swapping/checking almost everything I could possibly think of (with the help of my friends smashed Supra) Swapped IAC Valve Swapped Oxygen Sensors Swapped IAT Sensor Swapped PCV valves Swapped TPS Sensor complete with inlet plenum Swapped ECU Replaced Spark Plugs with new ones Did Compression Test Checked Timing Belt Position Replaced Dizzy Cap/Rotor Arm Replaced Vacuum Hoses I was stuck for ideas... It was only until I was looking into changing the HT leads, I stumbled upon a Soarer Forum in Australia. This guy was having the exact same problem on his Soarer After a good read of his thread, he had gone through everything I had. It later turned out the Hall Sensor in his Distributor was failing and worked perfectly after replacing it. So, another trip to my mates Supra, before it was scrapped, I swapped the Distrubutors over, got my engine warm, grabbed the Timing Light, set it at 10 degrees BTDC The end result, a steady, smooth, happy idle. Such a relief! https://vimeo.com/125724407 Result! A heap load better than it was in the last video
-
Indeed! Got them off some shady bearded fella... I cant wait to try it out lol
-
Had a call yesterday from a good friend & fellow Supra owner. He had a shunt with a Fire Engine and the car is ruined. Genuinely gutted for him and will hopefully be back behind the wheel of another very soon. On another note, he let me buy/exchange his leather seats and ECU before the car is taken away. They have been greatly received and look right at home. Much more supportive than the previous cloth seats

A word of caution on buying/selling Supra stuff at the moment
Richie_k83 replied to j_jza80's topic in Supra Chat
My thoughts exactly. The Forum is a good place to know who you are dealing with to a degree, but at the end of the day, as with Facebook, you are just looking at a name and a picture. You can create a profile and proclaim to be anyone you want... Its a simple case of buyer beware, use a payment method where you can cover your arse if it comes to it and dont send payments as a "gift" on PayPal. If there is any doubts, then investigate it or dont follow through. It sucks to be ripped off, but if you dont do the leg work, then dont be surprised if you get bit. -
Its hard to tell from the video, if it is fitted to the car and there is play, it may well fail an MOT, depending on the testers opinion... I used an electric impact gun on mine to remove the bolt and brought a cheap pulling tool off eBay, seemed to work pretty well...!
-
Today's weather has been great, took full advantage and made a start on fitting my EDFC system, Got the fronts on Rears, I had to trim the plastic panel back, Next I had to trim the dash pocket and drill some vent holes to fit the unit Then route the wiring And thats it, all powered up and working spot on
-
Think I need to concentrate on getting it running right first though lol. Tried the IAC, didnt change anything. Seems to be a miss-fire maybe, exhaust smells pretty rich too...
-
Thanks bud. I was there for half 8, didn't take them long though. Cheers dude, its a toss up between that and a Supercharger at the moment. When funds allow lol. IAC, I am borrowing my mates as a test. If all goes well, I will give you a shout

Took a ride out this morning to A-Line in Dudley to get her Suspension Geo set up, Went for a bit more grip than the OEM specs Drives much better now and doesent feel so nervous on the road. Just need to look at the crappy idle problems, still fluctuating and stalling out when at idle, no issues when driving though unless i stop in traffic, Plugs, Dizzy Cap, Rotor arm, Vacuum Hoses have all been changed. Cleaned the IAC Valve too. I can only put it down to the IAC valve being dead... I can have it running, unplug the Valve and it doesn't seem to affect it at all....

Made another small purchase the other day with the guys at Tein UK. Tein EDFC unit and Motors (Electronic Dampening Force Controller) This will allow me to adjust the Damper settings from inside the car when on the Track Going to get them fitted the weekend, Suspension Geo is being set up on Friday morning.
