Suitable petrol for Supra - poll and thoughts
JCresswell replied to Alex's topic in Technical Discussions
I Have always put high Octane, premium, super unleaded into my supra, only cause ive been told that high performance Bikes n Cars perform much better! MPG and BHP, as im fairly new here and to my Supra, i used to Race Bikes, (not in a perfesional way) and I always Put 97 into her and an octane booster AND lead replacement (Red X) because @ 14,000 rpm your vaulves get a fucking kicking and the lead protects them! I would put RED X into the Supra if it wasnt for the fact that she is stock with 2 Cats @ the MO.........Super Drager 2 cumming up with a 2nd cat removing pipe! can i swear? -
Hi, Im getting a "pop" "distortion" sound from my front right speaker, Iwas going to fit new speakers as the head unit (still original) works fine, BUT i took it to my local ICE HIFI INCARAUDIO:baa: :baa: guy and he said it was the head unit!!!!, apparently the internal amplifier is renound for blowing the left (normally both F + R) channel, has anybody just replaced speakers and the noise has gone or is it indeed the head unit!!! Im not a huge fan of loud music but i do like to listen to the odd CD now and then, so id like to fix it either way?? Any advise would be great!

I cut mine off with a grinder, .............................Dust sheilds that is:p

ALL, Just thought id add this incase anyone is doing a uk brake upgrade in the future. I Have just finished mine, Ding ace! Discs fit no problem under my 18" Wheels Calipers Fit no problem onto Jap Spec lugs! BUt and here it is, The calipers fouled the wheel width (not diameter) so i needed spaces, there was 20mm between my old jap spec calipers and the inside wheel edge. but the to get the new ones on i required a 5mm spacer fitted. after fitting the spacer i found that the studs where to short , i could only tighten them up by 4 turns DOH so i had to fit longer studs as well, Its all back together now and the car is great with its new brakes. i found Leon Very Very helpfull when it came to Studs and spacers, everybody holds leon in high regard and he knows his PooH, also i would like to thank John Packam for sending me the pics of his conversion and his advice. All the best J:baa:

Rip em off no fun, try a grinder GGGGGGrrrrrrrrrzzzzziiiinnnnnnng!

I have just finished my UK upgrade, Fronts done (calipers and disc's) with steel lines and standard pads, rear still jap spec but with ebc pads and steel lines, brakes are f^&*ing ace, really a big difference, also got fluid flushed through and used 5.1 im not going to do the backs this set up is fine, If i had loads of cash then i probally would do the back but not because they needed it, Its also fair topsay at this point that my car is standard power wise, and i guess anything above 370 -400 bhp may need more help, just to be safe,
-
Thanks John ive just called Leon, his gona call me back, but i think im just about there!, Hopefully i Wont need that stud from you now, Thanks Again for all your help, PS i havent driven the car since i took it home a saw the studs, It wont be going back to the bloke who did it, (F%&*&*ing asked him if it needed studs and he said No No No its ok! TWat that he is) So it looks like ill have to drive the wifes PUG for a few days, bloody horrid thing!!!
-
Even Better Thanks, the SS38 .............Did you have to replace the Nuts as well?, Is Leon a member??? cant find his details cause im thick??? John thanks for all your help i feel that im getting somewhere now... Cheers
-
Another Idea would be if some one has an old stud they could sling my way, I might have to order one from Toyota so that Rallydesign can supply the stud! Anyone?
-
Yeah, seem like nice guys, but cant help unless they have something to work from, or the specs of the stud they need to supply???? Do u Know the specs?? JJ
-
Hi All, it me again, Im trying to order some wheel studs for my car, Any idea please what to order, i know some of you guys have done this already and iv contacted Ralidesign but they cant help without seeing the stud???? i dont really want to take the car off the road while they match it up, Any help would be greatly appriciated! The current studs are standard, and i need 6 - 7 mm longer ones? Thanks Jamie:conf:
-
Thanks, im gona give them a call, i can turn the studs 5 turns thats all!!!, poo!, ill have to take it easy untill i get the new ones, Cheers for the help
-
Hi Ive just fitted my UK spec brakes (well a bloke at the garage did) all ok,,, New Lines, Discs and callipers brill,,, real easy BUT and here it is i needed 5mm spacers, okay i thought but would i need longer studs???? No said the bloke so i left him to it.. Ive just picked it up and they work fab everything looks great and they hall the car up real quick and i havent used them in anger yet (gotta bed them in) got home and looked at the studs, mmmmmmm not really happy, although the garage said they where safe enough i think im gona fitt longer studs, i know leon has studs but who is he whats his email? and if i cant get ahold of leon any idea what pitch, size and length the originals are? so that i can order a set with 5-6 mm more thread?? PS anyone want a set of jap brakes ? im gona stick them on ebay unless someone wants to make me an offer, i have discs too all in good nic!

I Found a website http://WWW.Trackstore.co.uk, chap was very helpfull and had everything i needed, ill let you know how good it is, but he dose race meetings etc!!!!, so should be a high standard, Spacers £3.50 each! studs £1.00 P&P for next day £7.00 very fair i thought, we'll just have to see how good it is, Ill do a full write up once the brake conversion is done, Cheers J
