  1. I agree with Phil & Syed on the wheels, mine 19's were re-machined to fit over the UK brakes, and the eibachs i've found anyway to be really good springs they drop about 25-30mm, dont hurt the ride to much while over a far more composed feeling when going through the bends, i'm not so sure about the 80ltr tank thought the most i've ever got in my car is 50 ltrs, but this might depend on wether its NA/TT GZ/SZ or GZ-R/SZ-R Cheers cheers
  2. If you've got 2 buttons on your car key one for lock and unlock press the lock button twice the horn should chirp once, you're alarm should be armed now cheers
  3. phew so its not just me........ regards
  4. Well the cars in for a service with Jem, the service manager seems to know his stuff, and i've asked him to take the car out for a drive and just see what he thinks in general about how it drives....... i did mean to put some of that injector cleaner, and oil treatment stuff so i could give it a good thrash on the way up there too loosen any build up, but completely forgot to do it. Flip i dont know about how you drive yours, but mine always feel a bit sluggish until i've redlined once or twice through the gears, then everything seems to loosen up, and the car picks up speed much more quickly. i'm hoping to notice a change in character of the engine when i pick the car up on saturday
  5. Guys, i always thought the 3 litre 6 cylinder had quite a linear power delivery, my problem with this power not kicking in until 4500 rpm, is that even the 150bhp boyz round here can keep up with me of the lights, so i'm always quite surprised to hear the kill stories, and always thought the NA was much more of a cruiser rather than a bruiser. If anyones got any output graphs please post them, to put my mind at rest that i'm not dreaming it,cos i still have this feeling that the sup should be faster than it is, and therefore needs medical attention cheers
  6. Hi Guys, took my sup out for a couple of fast runs over the weekend and i noticed something strange...... when i accelerate hard in the first 3 gears, its quite moderate acceleration upto about 4500 revs then the engine takes on a harded louder note and i've got rapid speed build up, not TT rapid but the change in pace is very noticeable. I havent got the VVT engine and i'm pretty sure theres no turbo's hiding under the bonnet, so whats causing it? anyother NA drivers cars behave like this? or will the soon to be had service cure this? as always Cheeers

    pump & grind

flip can you let us know what they say, when you take the car into toyota, has anybody else noticed that the sup's are taking alittle longer to turn over before the engine fires up, or is it just paranoia cheers

    pump & grind

Yeah mine is an NA, is a power steering pump gonna be xpensive to buy & replace , or can it be replaced d.i.y, do you reckon i can keep driving around like this cos it's only hassel at startup or am i going to end up nackering something else in the process, + the cars only done 30k, should the pump be going so soon? cheers

    pump & grind

i've checked the fluid its just slightly above the max line(is that o.k.), what colour should it be? the problems only really started recently,(although it has made a metallic noise on startup in the mornings, but then this disappears with a few 45 degree turns of the steering wheel) and yes this only happens from cold, or if i've left the car parked up for a bit after a drive, the last thing i want to happen in this weather is the pump going and leaving me stranded 8-( any ideas? is the pump on its last leg, is it not receiving some sort of signal to come alive when the car has started or is it just time for a fluid change
  10. when i start my car up, still stationary the steering is heavy when turned slightly left or right and then becomes very light as i turn more as if the pumps woken up, if turn the steering wheel to the right about a quarter turn it feels like its being stopped by something, then i give it some pull , then it all goes light again , i drive around for a bit, theres absolutely no probs everything bahaving normally, park the car up, come back to it and start the process over again, any body got any ideas whats going on. p.s Merry xmas all
  11. 6 speed N/A's are rare as poo!! and it took me ages to find mine, sixth gear gives a nice cruising rpm on the motorway , and even my n/a although not as brutal and some days i do wish it was an TT has a enough torque to keep it trundling around town in 6th aswell, cant say though whether having a 6th gear improves fuel economy, i only get about 200 miles a tank with 75:25 town:motorway driving
  12. Yeah i know that still worries me, so i've gotta guy coming down from mille miglia uk to check the wheels out this friday if he gives them the all clear, then i'll finally be able to sleep at night. p.s. lust from what the other have said i guess i've got this "sports pack", i had originally fitted the 17's and have supra stamped on the front and rear brakes. Have you got a 6 speed gearbox b'cos mine's a real struggle in the cold especially 1st to 2nd cheers
  13. Gareth, if the yellow can with the wavy line below is the oil warning light whats the red can light for? Cheers
  14. Got my car back today after some prat drove into it, got the wheels balances in the past week, and it seems to have cured the judder.... some times the solution to things can be the simplest things
  15. I used City gate in slough, about 2 months ago to get a new battery fitted, i left it with them all afternoon, when i drove it home the car kept stalling on me, the next morning it was idling at 3-4000 rpm from startup, and since has had floaty idling anywhere between 200-1000 rpm, i've read alot in the other threads about ecu 1,2 can pulling this out & popping them back in cure my idling cheers
  16. Hi all, does anyone know what the yellow petrol can warning light with the wavy line below on the dash means, i'm pretty sure mine hasnt been on for awhile when turning the ignition, and i'm starting to worry!!!!!!!!!! Cheers
  17. Hi All, have you heard of the process of "on the car wheel balancing" & does anyone know of where I can get it done from in the Berkshire/Heathrow area Thanks
  18. Guys cheers for all your replies, now you've all got me seriously worried, the set i've got fitted are millie miglia Evo, ( has anyone else got these fitted, i've seen them on two other supra's but only in passing so wasn't able to ask if any work had to be done to get them on). To be honest i am rather new at this game, and will be contacting the supplier a.s.a.p, to air my (your) worries. p.s. can my life get much worse, filling up in petrol staion today, a transit drivers , gone scraped along the entire drivers side of my car!!
  19. Just had a set of 19in alloys fitted 235*35 on 8.5 & 265*30 on 9.5 , apparently i got the u.k spec brakes on my car, b'cos they have Supra written over them (is that true) SO the alloys at the front wouldnt go on properly. they had to shave a bit of the spokes of the alloy & use a 3 mil spacer, p.s for good measure i got the car lowered with some eibach springs as well. Now the surprising thing is round town the ride hasnt suffered at all, but once you build up some speed around 70ish + the steering starts to shake? Has anyone got any ideas, as i'm abit scared to drive my car at speed, and am desperatly feeling the need for speed
