Do you mean this by any chance? There is a very light coating of coolant around the seal where something is obviously not quite tight enough, and can see on the metalwork below where there has been some sat and burnt in the past. Edit: Sorry for the lack of arrows or indication on the photo, I hope you can figure out which one I'm talking about :S

Nothing out of the ordinary, it tends to hover around 80 - 90 on the Defi gauge.

Will have a little dig around when I get back from work tomorrow, cheers for the advice. Its pretty central as far as I can tell, if that helps at all, and there is no smell other than the normal hot engine smell.

Evening guys, Has been a relatively nice evening, so thought I'd take the Supra out for a spin (my Dads friend wanted to have a look round her and have a listen, so seeing as the engine was on and warm it seemed rude not to! ) Anyway, I took her out for a rather hard drive, nothing ridiculous but may have slipped the clutch a tad at one roundabout thanks to one pain in the arse BMW who's indicators didn't seem to work... When I got back, I opened the bonnet up, and could see a very light smoke coming from the very back of the engine bay. No colour to it, just very light white smoke... Was wandering if this was normal? Left her to stand for 10 minutes, just want back and started it up again and all seems to have cleared - Im probably being over paranoid, but better safe than sorry, eh? Cheers in advance

Doing this right now, the sensors are currently sat in a pair of 'Purple Ronnie' shot glasses! Not sure how dirty mine were as I had no way to gauge it... They didn't look terrible, but nothing wrong with leaving them in a small glass full of freshly squeezed lemons overnight Also took it as an opportunity to freshen up the heat shield, and clean up a few other bolts around the general area by scrubbing them down and spraying black. Will reset the ECU as above when I stick the sensors back in. An easy job to do that can only do good at the end of the day!

That's a gorgeous interior! Welcome to the club

I had played with the idea of going single after a year or so, as the bodywork is straight and it's in good nick underneath, but I think I won't really know what I'm gonna decide to do until I actually get to it to be honest!!
-
Will have a proper look into it, but either way I didnt want to kill myself (and a poor Supra!) by jumping straight into a TT
-
I know, I know, gimme a chance man! I only a wee 20 year old, insurance on a TT isn't quite a viable option yet...
-
Gotcha, cheers man. Haha, another non-fan of the eyebrows! I'm gonna stop posting pictures before long! >.

So picked her up Saturday, and everythings good spent the weekend running her in, getting used to the feel and just playing around in general with my buddies, who own in no particular order an R33 GTR, Mazda MX-5, BMW 320i, and a CBR600RR. Needless to say I couldn't quite keep up with the GTR or the 600RR, but that's not what its all about (yet!). Couple of photo's attached. Not the most original, but there's plenty of time for photoshoots Got a few plans for her - first of all giving her a proper clean this weekend, detailing as much as I can, maybe even get into the engine bay. First of all getting her all alarmed up, with the full works. Following month getting the front bumper sorted (couple cracks where Rummy took her out in the snow!), and then getting the alloys refurbished. Debated buying new ones, but I really think the current ones suit! Might get them finished in black after the refurb though - who knows Runs nicely, got a lovely little growl, and she changes gears (nearly) flawlessly Rummy/Mike, if you read this - Can you please remind me what the little switch to the left of the aerial switch is?! I want to say traction control, as I cant find that damned switch anywhere, but I'm not sure of ANYTHING right now!! :S WAHHHOOOO, got a Supra! I get so many looks its unreal, and everyone (my age) that I pass wants to hear that Straight 6 calling her name
-
Thanks Solid as anything, so I hear - hope this one is just the same!
-
Who knows, maybe we'll end up meeting in a professional manner sometime! Haha, thanks for the eyebrows advice guys, defo leaving them on for the minute - like I said previously, I want to at least get her home first before I start messing around
-
Haha thanks dude! But I thought the eyebrows weren't too bad! Is this a personal taste thing, or is it a general no no?!
-
Wahaaay! I knew English would benefit me at some point in life! >. In regards to the seats, I may be tempted... But let me at least get the poor girl home first haha!

Evening everyone The name's Dom, 20 years old, from Wallingford, Oxford. I work for BMW at the MINI Plant in Oxford, and so have been driving nothing but a variety of 2.0d's since I was 17 (fantastic to start with, but JESUS do they get a bit dull!)... Currently knocking about in an X1 (first couple of pics), so excited for the new girl to come along I am finally within touching distance of getting my Supra - I pick it up TOMORROW and I've pretty much been shaking with excitement the entire week. It's a Silver 93' J-Spec, manual 5 speed N/A bought off of a current member - Rummy - and in my opinion is absolutely gorgeous (but then I would say that, I am buying it..! ) You can check out the advert here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?288631-93-Silver-J-Spec-Manual-N-A to see what she looks like, and will update with my own photo's as soon as I've got her home. Definitely looking forward to getting in with this community, and aim to attend as many of the meets as possible - on the more local side of things, anybody know how active things are around Oxfordshire/ Berkshire and Buckinghamshire etc.? The regional threads (England - South) seems a little quiet! Hoopefully see some of ya'll knocking about
-
I suppose I could potentially just give it a go myself... How much would we then be talking for the cost of respray/touch up kind of thing?
-
Hiya, Bought a Supra yesterday - picking it up over the next couple of weeks, will post in the new members area when I get it home and whatnot. However, it has a bit of damage on the front bumper, a couple of cracks. Does anyone know anywhere down south or midlands with a decent reputation for repairing these kind of things? Don't want to go somewhere that's might just bodge it up! Cheers in advance, will bring a few Haribo to my first meet (I believe this is an acceptable form of currency or bribery within this club? Haha!

Sounds good... I assume you send him the link to the car you want from Japan, and he quotes you with all the shipping prices and so on too? Looks awesome and will have a proper look tomorrow!
-
Nope, nothing special, quite refined though - the Germans certainly know how to produce a diesel engine. Their petrols these days though... Little rugged/disappointing! Is this Jurgen chap a good dealer to visit if a Jap import is on the cards then? Obviously, if no-one from here is selling when I'm buying!
-
I already have this face down to the 'T' my friend - I've been driving prettied up BMW's for the past 3 years, with no more power than the average Cooper S! All talk, no go haha! Going to Paul Browns with a friend who is buying an R33 Skyline, purely to look at all the pretty metal... In all seriousness, I could just turn my phone onto video, and get a video for you guys? Will do my research now, haha!
-
Hahaha, it may be a useless measurement, but I can generally gauge it against other cars in a kind of backwards fashion...! I've read enough of the N/A snide comments to last me a lifetime - it nearly put me off it completely... Who knows, maybe I'll end up getting a TT after all, but at least if I get the N/A 6speed I can convert it later 7 seconds isn't all bad, thought it may have managed slightly better though with a few light mods. Will have to keep an eye out on the classifieds then, eBay/Pistonheads/the usuals seems a bit useless as far as Supras go. Going to Paul Browns tomorrow though!
-
Evenings guys, I've been lurking on this forum the past few days, looking at the necessaries, some of the un-necessaries, and the classifieds - being an downright lurker, to be honest - but its about time I posted something, so why not start with a question..! I'm buying a Supra. It probably wont be till early 2014, but best start looking early to find exactly what you want, right? (Ideally it would be a 6speed TT aerotop, but who am I kidding...) So I've been all over the internet, and I swear I cannot find any true or realistic 0-60 times for any Supras' at all. I hope some of you guys can help me? 1) I'm trying to find the 'official' 0-60 time of the N/A Supra, completely stock 2) A realistic time of a 0-60 N/A Supra, with a few common modifications such as decat, exhaust, you get the idea. The reason is, I'm hopefully going to buy a 6speed N/A Supra - already with a few light modifications - with plans to either do a NA-T conversion, or sell up at a later point and just buy a 6speed TT... Either way I'm getting the N/A first so I can at least get a feel for the car. Jumping immediately from 2.0d's into a TT may be the end of my licence, if not my life, and I'd rather not lose either at the tender age of 21 If anyone has a tasty N/A Supra and is looking to sell within the year, let me know - She'll be given a good home, from a mechanically minded chap, and won't be turned into some lambo-doored 'look-at-me' machine Also, whilst we're here, any you owners out there get some nice burbles on the overrun? 'Pops and bangs', some may say? Cheers, Dom
