  1. Not many 350's down my way with decent mileage etc, it is a hard decision but I'd like to have the experience
  2. Hi, Does anyone have a pre 2006, 350z manual for sale or a na Supra Manual, want them to be pretty stock so budget is 3-6k. I am based in the South East Thanks Claire
  3. Hi all, I am having problems with the dreaded "G" word! Gear box on my car. I have an NA Auto 95 plate Supra (import), which generally is in really good condition mechanically. However, for past month or so it has been very slow in changing up gears. It revs high and eventually changes up, the gear box oil is clear and at the right level and all I can think of doing is having someone do the transmissions for me. My dads a mechanic and agrees that its changing slow, but has said its not making any noises or anything else concerning! Obviously with it being a gear box I am concerned but myself only a amateur when it comes to mechanics I am unsure, my dads a mechanic but hasn't worked on many Supra's so any advice from people that have had this problem on their Supra's and what they did would be appreciated. If not, up the transmissions garage she goes.....
  4. Just want to have a little taster at the moment, if I am serious I'll go full hog with tuition etc I am down south so would probably do tuition at Brands
  5. I am fortunate that I have a mechanic for a dad who can help mod, repair advise etc, also gets trade prices on parts. I fully understand its not cheap as I come from a racing background, things have changed allot since my family raced though! I just wanted to test the waters really so didn't want to spend a fortune, If I enjoy it and am serious I'd then go for the ARDS test, get a car etc etc. The BHP Show is a cheap track day and quite fun, I've been a passenger but never a driver and you do get normal people that just put their every day car on the track - - - Updated - - - Also I am not planning on starting off in a GTR, as tempting as it is!! lol
  6. Have you had to gut it interior wise? Supra is a heavy car. What kind of tyres would you get for the Supra? My friend has just done a NA-T conversion on his daily and bought some Pirelli tyres for it, not sure they are needed for the roads in this country, but for track maybe?
  7. The GTR is gorgeous! Thats my only worry with a MX5 that its slow, I don't like slow hehe! How much is a super charger set up on one of them?
  8. Wish I could afford a GTR lol! She the one with the pink GTR? Wish I could afford it!
  9. For those of you that have taken the MSV ARDS test, how did you find it? Did you do instructor days first?
  10. Cool video! How do you find the corners and sticking to the racing line in the Supra? Mines an NA Auto and can be abit slugish, need a manual lol! Good luck for the race, hope you take home a trophy!
  11. Does your gf do many races Graham? How does she find it, would be great to hear how another lady driver gets on.
  12. Lol I saw Jap Fest and won't be taking that on anytime soon. Just trying to use an example of an event where you can book track time. Just wanted some days to give it a try, literally can't do any week days so going to struggle, plus I enjoy going to the events, so don't wan't to miss out. Was hoping to hear other peoples experiences of places so I could line some track days up for next year. If I enjoy it then I'll go do my ARDS test so I am trained properly
  13. Literally can't do during the week as go to university and they don't let you have the time off I am local to Brands, they are quite strict though, not that I'd not obey the rules lol! I don't mind travelling around, thats part of the experience I feel. Be really interesting to hear from people around the country. Went to Castle Coombe this year for jap fest, quite a few spinners on that track lol! Looked so much fun though!
  14. Its more the effort I am putting in to building the Supra, I am trying to do everything myself so allot of love is going into the car, if I crash it or someone scrapes me then that's what I'd be worried about. Owning a Supra I know about £ signs hehe Lol I am hoping I enjoy it, my dad used to race motor cross so I've always wanted to try racing of some sorts Do you race?
  15. Following on from my other post (feedback greatly appreciated) - Can people give me an idea of good track day events they have been too. Nothing stupidly expensive and prefer it to be at an actual event. For example, The BHP Performance show (Lydden Hill) you can put your car on the track for £30 a session and also enjoy the actual event too, rather than it being just a track day during the week kind of thing! As I study/work during the week then it will have to be weekends! Hope that makes sense!! Post away!!
  16. and trouble is, it may not be me that crashes but some other prat driving like a fool! I don't really feel like doing 25 years because someone drove into my Supra lol!
  17. I don't really want to take the Supra on the track if I can avoid it, because I don't want to crash it or damage it, spending allot of time and money currently doing it up, I'd be gutted. Want something cheap just to start me off, so everyone suggesting expensive track cars its great for me to look towards in the future if I get into it, but I just want to test the waters for now, I don't see why people who haven't raced before would risk putting a nice car on the track, that's why I thought the Celica as I already have it. I am keeping my eye open for an MX5, anyone know of anything that I should keep my eye out for when buying them? My dads a mechanic so will defo be getting him to check it over, but if anyone has advice then its appreciated
  18. That's lovely, not sure the pink is my cup of tea personally but does look great! What kind of money do them cars go for?
  19. What about the old BMW's? 3 or 5 series, or any others. Seen some of them on track days?
  20. I'm with Sky insurance at the moment so not sure how much they would charge extra for the Mazda on my Supras insurance, as think they do multi
  21. Love the RX7's, my best friend had one and drove it into the wall lol!! Just too expensive for my first track car, want something cheap to see if I enjoy it etc, that's why I'm not putting my supra out there! I'd cry if I so much as scratched it. This way I can give it my all and not be too worried
  22. So MX5 seems to be the car of choice for cheap and fun runs! Just power is an issue on the straights, so find bendy circuits lol! For those of you that have these second race/fun cars what do you do about insurance, do you just pay for the year or do you do classic insurance for 20+ year old cars or have a trailer etc? I take it none of you use your daily's lol!! I am not bothered about insurance for the track if I smash my car up lol, but need to be able to drive it to the track.
  23. My first car was a puma, that car was good fun!
